Start Date: 22nd February 2026
Hey! I’ve lived in this apartment for two years and have just renewed the lease for another six months. My current flatmate is moving out mid-Feb, so I’m looking for someone to take over her room.
I’m currently the sole leaseholder. You can either join the lease or stay on as an approved occupant - totally up to you.
The lease runs until 15 June 2026, with the option to renew after.
Location:
The apartment is very conveniently located at the northern end of New Farm on a fairly quiet leafy street. It is a very short walk away to a bunch of restaurants, bars, and cafes on/near Brunswick St, a cinema, a bus stop, the Valley, Merthyr village which has a Coles, 2 bottle shops, the story bridge and Howard Smith Wharves, New Farm Park, and more. Super central but still peaceful.
The Apartment:
The unit is a 2 bed 2 bath on the first floor of a 4 storey apartment building. It has a large north facing undercover balcony where you can look out onto all the beautiful trees around, an open wrap-around balcony with a clothes line and the potential for outdoor seating, a well-lit living room, a cute kitchen with an oven and dishwasher that opens out to the wrap around balcony. The 2 bedrooms are tucked on either end of the apartment and both have their own bathrooms so there's a lot of privacy. The unit has secure access (with a fob), and a secure parking lot on the ground floor that you're welcome to use (I don't own a car). The windows have mosquito meshes, there a ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living room, and an AC in the kitchen which we never use.
The Bedroom:
The room on offer is the second bedroom which has its own private bathroom and toilet (separate wc/bathroom) immediately outside the room, built-in wardrobes, and two additional cupboards in the hallway outside the room.
Bills + Internet (Split evenly between us):
Currently signed on for unlimited Wi-Fi which is $77/month in total.
Electricity is billed quarterly and varies based on usage.
Bond:
Bond is 4 weeks rent (split between us). There is a $165 administrative fee for a change of tenancy during an existing lease agreement which we'd have to split.
Furnishings:
The flat is unfurnished - the furnishings visible in the photo are my flatmates and she will be taking them with her when she leaves in Feb. If you have your own furniture that's ideal! I’m trying to stay light because I plan to move to Sydney in 2026 and don’t want to accumulate too much. For anything essential (fridge, washing machine, microwave etc.) we can figure it out together. The fixtures that come with the house are the dryer, oven, and dishwasher.
Future Plans/Transparency:
I’m aiming to move to Sydney sometime in 2026 (timing depends on when I find work). When that happens, I’ll need someone to take over my room/lease. If you eventually want the master bedroom or to fully take over the lease, that’s potentially an option.
Travel Plans/Inspections:
I will be travelling overseas from the 26th Dec - 18th Jan with limited access to internet for some of the trip. I'd like to do inspections before the 26th, and one last round of inspections the week I'm back 19th-25th Jan and make a decision the 25th Jan weekend.
The Ideal Flatmate:
-Warm, friendly, good communicator
-Full-time working professional (creative fields a plus)
-Clean, considerate, easygoing
-Not a couple - I prefer keeping the house dynamic simple
-I’m chill with partners staying over, but ideally not more than 3 nights a week
If this sounds like a good fit, message me and we can chat or organise a viewing!
