Hi, I'm Nathan, 38, moving to Brisbane to start a new position as a lecturer at the University of Queensland. I'm looking for a quiet, comfortable room in or with easy public transport access to the Saint Lucia campus from now until the end of May.
This will be a short-term stay (roughly 4 months) and it will just be me living there. My fiancée is a midwife and will be working outside of Brisbane (possibly in Toowoomba) - there's only a small chance she might visit once or twice during the whole period, and we'd of course check that this suits everyone beforehand.
Day to day, I'll be very busy with work and mostly home to sleep during the week. I tend to keep a healthy, low-key lifestyle, and am quit enthusiastic about running, cycling, surfing and adjacent activities. I have a van and will likely be away in it most weekends.
I have a background in the built environment, anthropology and philosophy, and have been full-time university lecturer for over 3 years. My research is in the philosophy of science and epistemology, which I am always happy to talk about.
I am looking for a fully furnished room, preferably with my own bathroom and air conditioning. I'm hoping to find a friendly, considerate household with people who value a calm, tidy home, are up for the occasional chat, and appreciate someone who will look after the place and fit in easily.
