I’m Jack (they/them or he/him), 41, queer and non-binary, and in a long-term relationship with another non-binary legend. I work in mental health (coaching people in training their attention), though I’m currently taking a break from work while I recover from surgery (with another happening soon sadly!). Later this year I’ll also be diving into an online Cert IV in Mental Health for peer work.
I live with chronic illness, so I keep things calm and clean - lots of quiet study, meditation, and health stuff, with the occasional bush walk or catch-up over coffee. I’m early to bed, early to rise, don’t smoke, drink rarely, and don’t keep pets (though I love pets and would happily befriend any!).
I’d say I’m friendly, kinda silly yet reliable, patient, and flexible. I pay bills consistently and on time, and I’m open to splitting the cost of any shared items for the house.
A few nights a week I’m at my partner’s place, and most weekends I’m with them noodling about on walks, at galleries, or markets - they have their own studio, so that’s our main hangout spot.
What I’m looking for in a sharehouse is simple:
- Quiet nights and a safe, homey vibe
- Great internet for study
- Housemates who are easy to get along with and can chat easily about whatever we need
Financially, I have regular income, so rent and bills are not a problem while I recover from surgery and then study.
I don’t have a whole lot of public social media, but here’s my LinkedIn as a start: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jaaackmckenna
I’d love the chance to meet you and see if we’d be a good fit.
