Hey hey, I’m Marta! I’m 23 and moving to Melbourne on a working holiday visa. I’m originally from Catalonia but have spent the last five years living in Edinburgh, so I’m very used to adapting to new places and meeting new people. I’m easygoing, sociable, tidy, and apparently very funny (self-proclaimed, but confidently so). I love exploring new cafes, travelling, grabbing a pint, catching sunrises and sunsets, wandering around new neighbourhoods, and occasionally disappearing into a TikTok scroll.

Looking for: a room in Fitzroy, Carlton, Collingwood, or Brunswick
Budget: $250–$300 pw
Dates: Late Feb to mid-June (possibly longer if the vibe is right!)

I’m hoping to find a home where everyone is social, relaxed, and respectful — the kind of household where people enjoy cooking together, going for a walk or a pub night, chilling in the living room, but also giving each other space when needed. A place that feels like a home, not just a room.

I’ll be working as a barista (and I’m a recent Marketing graduate), so I’m the type who always has a camera in hand and always knows where the best coffee spots are. If you like spontaneous pastries appearing in the kitchen or having someone capture cute moments, that’s me!!

I have a lot of experience in shared living: five years of everything from student flats to sharing with friends, living with a 52-year-old man at 18, living with someone who didn’t speak a word of English, an HMO flat where I had a new flatmate every month, and even sharing a room in the US. So I’d say I’m pretty calm, adaptable, and able to get along with just about anyone.
