Hello there!
I'm a young professional working in climate and renewable energy who moved to Melbourne for a new job mid-last year. My job is sponsoring my PR, so Melbourne is home for the foreseeable future.
I like having the option of working from home (in my room, common areas are sacred), but I prefer to come to my office and keep work and home separate. I like having a cosy, relaxing place to recharge from work and such. I travel somewhat often for my job, with 4 week-long trips already on the books for 2026. I'm also super keen to explore more around Melbourne, and I have a growing list of day and weekend trips I'll be working through as I can. 😊🏞️🏝️
I've lived in many house-shares with lovely and interesting people from all walks of life. I'm tidy and responsible, very chill and easy-going--but still interesting, and I like a balance of "me time" and socialising. I can be quite chatty and love a good conversation and getting to know people better, but I also appreciate having "quiet company" with a movie, a good book, or just doing our own thing.
I'm quite active, especially on the weekends, and enjoy being outdoors (long walks around Melbourne with a latte and pastry in hand, bushwalks, or being a beach potato with a good book). My partying days are behind me, but I still enjoy going to the theatre, live music/comedy, trivia nights, etc. on occasion. I'm not great at mornings, and prefer to live somewhere where there isn't an expectation of a lot of chit chat pre-coffee (or 2). 😊 I'm not a morning grouch, just a bit loopy and easily confused before my brain wakes up. ☁️😌☁️
Long-term, I would like to find my own place largely motivated by a desire to enjoy my morning coffee without having to put on pants; everyone's dream, I know. However, in the immediate/foreseeable-term, I'd like to move somewhere that is a clean, friendly, and cosy space that I can make my home, too. I hate moving, so I'm happy to sign onto a lease if we're a good fit.
I'm a non-smoker. I enjoy a nice red or a cocktail out on occasion, usually before previously mentioned visits to the theatre.
I have my own bedroom furniture, a few common area items, kitchen things, etc. I can keep the smaller stuff in my office if it's not needed, but I really like my bed. 😴
I have a car I'd ideally like to park off-street or with reliable on-street parking that doesn't have time limits.
