Hi there, my preferred name is Jay, legally I'm still John.
I'm local and have been studying at UTAS for just over half a decade and have taken a long hiatus due to poor health. I have the DSP backing me up while I cook up some cunning plans to re-enter the workforce, whether in traditional employment or in self-employment.
I'm grey-ace and neurospicy and have long sought peace and quiet after living in student accommodation. If you relate to that, we'd live well together, though I certainly love the odd self-generated joke or two. And a long walk in nature or the city.
I'm a nightowl and get quite restless at night, so don't be surprised if you hear the shower running at 12. I will always consider your noise tolerance and you should never fear telling me if I annoy you; I'd love to know because I hate annoying people.
What else is there to mention? Well, my interests cluster around humans, their behaviour and their thoughts; think psychology, cognitive science, anthropology, linguistics, even. If you're comfortable, I'd love to ask you questions about how you tick tock under the hood; any and all consensual insights are largely appreciated. But don't ever think you owe me that; it's always your call.
As for what I'm looking for: walkability, walkability, walkability. That, to me, is the primary non-negotiable. I love my long, errant walks and treasure those moments in motion. I'm not afraid to pay big money regularly for such a place; it's not a problem for me.
I'm hoping for a year long lease until I'm ready to move interstate to study in Victoria. Monash is my (current) dream university, but I need to nip the last of my health quests in the bud before then.
Sound good? Excellent. If you've read this far I can assume you've made up your mind. Message me whenever and depending on how alert I am, I should get back to you by the end of the day.
