Joe

Hi, I’m Joe. I’m 45, grew up in Melbourne, lived overseas a bit and then for many years in Brisbane. I’ve been a full-time electrical engineer working on renewable energy projects for a couple of decades but it’s time for a new adventure and I’ve moved to Newcastle to work in environmental activism.

I’ve been sharing houses nearly all of my adult life, including living in and kind of running a community sharehouse for many years. I know how to take care of a place and I’m a clean, tidy, handy, responsible and quiet housemate.

I play the violin and the clarinet but there are other places I can do that if it’s not something you want in the house. Hopefully you do though.

I’m pretty active and outdoorsy and will probably spend a lot of my free time out playing folk music, going to national parks, exploring, cycling around, and visiting friends and family up and down the east coast. I also like gardening and pottering around at home.

I'd probably describe myself as a social introvert and I’m hoping to find a reasonably clean, tidy and calm house with housemates who are considerate of each other’s space and schedules and preferences, and who also might end up becoming friends.

I'm pretty flexible with a move-in date - any time from now until early September.
