Joe

Hi, I’m Joe. I’m 45, grew up in Melbourne, lived overseas a bit and then for the last 15 years in Brisbane and now I’m moving to Newcastle. I’ve been a mostly-full-time electrical engineer working on renewable energy projects for a couple of decades but it’s time for a new adventure and I’m coming to Newcastle to work in environmental activism.

I own a house in Brissie where I’ve been living with housemates for years, and I used to live in a community sharehouse for years before that so I know how to take care of a place and I’m a clean, tidy, handy, responsible and pretty quiet housemate. Maybe it doesn’t sound like it from what I’ve written but I’m an introvert.

I play the violin which I love to practice, and the clarinet, but there are other places I can do that if it’s not something you want in the house. Hopefully you do though.

I’m often pretty active and outdoorsy and will probably spend a lot of my free time out playing folk music, going to national parks, exploring, cycling around, heading to folk music festivals, and visiting friends and family up and down the east coast. I also like a bit of gardening and pottering around at home.

I’m hoping to find a reasonably clean, tidy and calm house with housemates who are considerate of each other’s space and schedules and preferences.
