I'm moving to Hobart after living in the UK for the past five and a half years. I will be working part time as a research vet, which will involve occasional trips away for field work. In my non-working life I anticipate filling my days with hiking, running (slowly), cold water swims and developing my pastry-making skills. I also have momentary flares of creativity, which draw out the sewing machine or crochet yarn. Although it will be a new home for me, I already have a well-established community in Hobart.
I'm a non-smoker, rarely drink and am usually looking for an early night! I'd love to share with people who enjoy a friendly and peaceful household - happy to have a chat and share time, space, cuppas, meals, etc with housemates, while also valuing my own time in a relaxed, chaos-free environment. I expect that as professionals and/or students with busy lives, we wouldn't necessarily have coordinated living schedules, but I am respectful of home duties and happy to contribute to a rota or other system as required to keep the place comfortable for each of us. I enjoy cooking and baking - you are likely to benefit! Previously, I've enjoyed growing vegetables and keeping chooks, so if this is an option, I'd be delighted to be involved again.
My cattle dog x kelpie, Gus, will also be joining me from December, so I am looking for somewhere he will be welcome too. Gus is 11 yr old, and has lived harmoniously with other dogs, cats and chickens in the past. As a mature dog, he is entirely toilet trained, doesn't dig, scratch or bark excessively.
I have some flexibility with my move date as I am fortunate to have a lovely supportive bunch of friends in Hobart. Open to teaming up with like minded potential housemates, so please do reach out if you think we could be a good fit!
