Hi there! I have just moved back to Canberra and my short term rental fell through (oh no!). I am looking for somewhere to either live for a month or so to get organised or if the right place comes up, to live! I work full time in the ACTPS, and when I'm not doing that, I am out and about catching up with old friends, or chilling out at home, maybe once in a blue moon I'll be at the gym too! I am clean and tidy, I cook a bit, and am not too much of a party goer but will enjoy a wine or two!
Hello! I'm Lilian and I am moving to Canberra from Sydney for work so I'm looking for a place to move into. I tidy up after myself, am considerate of others, and enjoy socialising and having a laugh as well as having some downtime on my own. I also love going for walks, especially around the bush or somewhere aesthetically pleasing, doing some reading and trying my hand at cooking new recipes.
About me : I'm an experienced house-sharer, work full time, considerate of others, clean, respectful, social / independent. Looking for : a large room to fit queen sized bed, shelving and large desk, or a seperate area / room / study for shelving / desk. Keep myself occupied with : Seeing live music, Catching up with friends, Improvisational workshops, music festivals, enjoy travelling, going on walks / hikes, photography, nature, reading, Netflix, ABC/ SBS... etc. Home Life : I enjoy social time when living with others but also value my own space. Clean & tidy. Ideally : i'd be sharing with some awesome, creative artistic type people, who enjoy a meal / get together, but who also respect each others space. A catchup after work. A drink now and then. Musical Jams! The usual really. Most of my friends are aged in their 30s or 40s, but i get along with everyone. Have a small bunch of furniture - queen sized bed, couch, fridge, microwave, desks, 46" TV, stereo, bookshelves, etc... can be used if needed, otherwise will be put into storage / sold. If you think we'd be a good fit get in touch! Anthony.
Hi, my name is Ben. I'm in my late 20's and I'm moving back to Canberra (early July) after a year in Sydney. I'll be starting a new role at ANU working on their strategy for the prevention of sexual assault and sexual harassment. I expect it will be pretty full on, though I'm excited to be focusing on something so important. Outside of work I really enjoy cooking (though heads up, I'm vegan), yoga, hiking and the outdoors, wine, reading and movies. I also enjoy the occasional Netflix binge, chats about world issues and or the future and playing boardgames. Ideally looking for a chilled house, with people who appreciate the need for time alone, though also enjoy the occasional hang or meal together.
Looking for someone to team up to take over a lease of a beautiful house right next to the Ainslie shops, at the foot of Mt Ainslie. You will be in the master bedroom and can make use of the cute study nook as well. The photos do no justice to this place! The house is L-shaped with a bedroom at either end and open plan living and dining in between. It is very new and trendy with polished concrete floors, a fireplace and a big bathroom with a bath and separate shower. The available bedroom has built in robes and a gorgeous exposed brick wall. The house also has a large, landscaped low-maintenance yard and a shed. I'd like to share with a likeminded professional or student. Couples will be considered for $350 per week. Send me a message with a bit about yourself if you're interested!
Easy going housemates share this light-filled 5 bedroom home in Ainslie. The house stays cool during summer and features all the mod-cons you'd expect: washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, 5-burner range, even a wine fridge. During the cooler months, you can enjoy our wood burner fireplace or our backyard fire pit. The room is well air-conditioned and heated (both central) and comes unfurnished. Best of all? The location! The house is a 2-minute walk to Ainslie shops, 5 minutes to the wilderness of Mt Ainslie Reserve and, if you enjoy a tipple, you're just an $8 Uber from Lonsdale Street. I've lived here for about a year and a half and will be very sad to farewell it. Send me a message if you'd like to know more about the house! It's available from late June, long-term renters preferable.
Hi Everyone, My name is Ashleigh and I am pretty sociable, bubbly person who enjoys a good dad joke every now and then. I work a rotating shift roster and in my spare time I am either, finishing assignments, hanging out with friends or watching a good film (preferably horrors, I am a horror fanatic) I am pretty creative person and love all forms of self expression. I am a young, working professional I work for ACT health and currently studying business management with view to studying nursing next year. I currently reside in Weston and am looking to move somewhere closer to Gungahlin as I moving work sites as we begin to implement our new health centre. I am also looking for a long term rental option. I also currently have a cat, but usually is not a bother as it stays within my room most of the time. I take pride in having a clean home so I usually will block out a consecutive amount of time during the week to clean house. If you think we would make a good match please get in touch. Ashleigh
I'm a 24yr old guy, working full time as a carpenter, easy going, will pull my weight around the house. I'm always up for a chat, drink or board games, but i am respectful of peoples privacy and time to them self and will expect the same in return.
I am a finance professional and a research student. Clean tidy, happy, fun loving, reserved and friendly. Love to workout at the gym and enjoy movies, music and footy. Love animals too.
Hey there, from Sydney originally but have lived in the ACT for 5.5yrs. I am a full time venue manager for a delish restaurant/bar in Canberra. Few things about me, am very easy going and always up for a laugh. I enjoy listening to music, eating/drinking, puzzles, the odd hike here or there and much more. Appreciate a good balance between quiet time and socialising. As a housemate, I never leave a mess behind (except for my own bedroom) and understand the boundaries of a share house.
I’m looking for a room/teamup starting any time from July (although this is somewhat flexible). Looking to move into somewhere for the longer term if it’s the right fit. A bit about me: I enjoy travelling, architecture, keeping fit, doggos. Minor Chinese reality TV personality in a past life. Pretty easy going sort of guy at home, do most of my socialising outside the house but happy to do stuff with housemates too. Have some pretty nice furniture to contribute as well! I’ve lived in multiple sharehouses through uni and am now looking to save some money (currently paying $390/week). I’m a full time public servant and have never missed any sort of rent payment. I’m clean but not super pedantic about it - happy to adjust to suit others’ preferences/go on to rosters etc. Message me if it sounds like we’d be a good fit!
Hi there, I am a long-time Canberra resident finishing off the PhD this year and have started a new position at the ANU. I have shared houses for many years and am looking for a new place with some down-to-earth folks. I'm staying at a friend's place so my move date is pretty flexible too. I've been in Aus for 14 years (og from the US) and been a perpetual student most of that time. Looking forward to finishing study and only having one job for a change. I love the inner north Canberra and would like to live in a house. I've been living in share situations for awhile and respect other people's space. Good housemate qualifications: tidy, friendly, quiet, love to cook (esp new things) and going on random adventures. I am fairly active - my pref is hot yoga, not-a-big-tv watcher but also not adverse to a late night binge on Netflix and I like to have a drink or two when the occasion calls for it and if cheese is involved all the better. I am house-proud and like to keep things nice though not a freak about it, I have a lot of furniture and a cat. Her name is Bean and she is very quiet (she can't really meow) and loves her personal space, i.e. will sit nearby but not within reach. She's lives with a dog now so she could handle a chilled doggie housemate. Contact me if you're interested in starting a new place - or if you have a place and can find room for me, Bean and my stuff. Peace
Hello! I'm moving from Flagstaff, Arizona to Canberra in September to start a post doc at ANU researching eucalyptus genomics. I'm looking forward to exploring Aus and plan on doing a lot of backpacking, camping, and beach time on the weekends. I appreciate a fairly quiet and clutter free space, but I'm not a neat freak. Ideally I'd love to find a small house or granny flat biking distance to ANU, near a good yoga studio, and with backyard space for sipping morning coffee, gardening, and the occasional dinner party. I love to cook, so a decent sized kitchen would be a big plus. I'm easy going, friendly, and respectful of personal space. I don't smoke and I don't drink regularly, but I appreciate good conversation over a glass of wine now and then. I'll be in Canberra for ~3 years and am flexible on shorter or longer term rentals. I plan to arrive in early September, but if the perfect place came up in August, I'd be willing to pay an extra month's rent to secure a great long-term lease. Message me if you're interested!
I'm a 23-year-old Filipina. I'm currently working as a part-time RN (Registered Nurse). I am very easy going. I love to chat/socialise at times in any way (movies, nightout, walking, window shopping or even sharing when going through tough times). In saying this, I also respect privacy and alone times. Being clean and tidy, especially in the kitchen are a big deal to me. In the rest of house, I'm not too OCD.
I am moving from Melbourne to Canberra to buckle down and finish my degree in computing after taking some time off. Ideally looking for somewhere to call home, although I'm happy with temporary arrangements as well. I've been filling out 1form applications for almost five years now, so needless to say that I'm fully house trained. I am incredibly easy-going and am respectful of others' space and privacy. I recently ruptured my PCL so my interests have recently become a lot more sedentary. In my spare time, I like eating, cross-stitching, playing board games, exploring the city, and binging on Netflix. I'm a bit of a green thumb and am big on sustainable living. I'm also an advocate for mindfulness and have been trying to live life more deliberately. I try to keep active, although lately that's been mostly limited to the gym and cycling as of late. I tend to keep busy, but am more than keen for a chat with an occasional glass of wine. P.S. I can and will happily cook for you! P.P.S I can also come with an xbox one with kinect and apple TV
I'm a Canberra local and work at an NGO doing media/comms work. Seeking to share a flat or house in the inner north or south with one or two other professionals of similar age. I'm quiet, clean and respectful of other's space but also enjoy a chat over a drink or dinner a few times a week. Not a health fanatic by any means but I try to keep active and live well. I go away for work and on weekend trips now and then. If you have pets that is generally a bonus, especially if I get to play with/walk them as well. More into reading, arts, current affairs and learning stuff than in watching The Bachelor (which seems to be a defining feature here on Flatmates...). Send me a message if you think I'd fit in well at your place!
I live in Melbourne, but I am moving to Canberra to study at ANU. I move out of my current place on the 6th of July and Uni starts the 23rd, so looking to move in during that period, but flexible with dates, though the earlier the better. I finished a BSc in Psychology last year and will be studying Law at ANU. I like to read, write, play music, travel, and get chatty over a drink. I mostly get around by bike, occasionally go indoor bouldering. Good in the kitchen, plenty of experience in sharehouses. Non-smoker, don't own pets, but happy to live with them. Looking for somewhere not too far from ANU.
Hey! I'm Claire and I'd say I'm a really easy going person who is tidy, organised, friendly and social, but also respects personal space. I love being outdoors, travelling and playing with animals. I'm a full time uni student and work part time and am looking for a place somewhere near the city and the ANU campus.
Hey everyone I’ve been in Canberra for a year now and I’m looking for a fun but respectful sharehouse. I like cooking, movies, hiking, running and a bunch of other stuff. I’m quite, clean and respectful of other people’s space and property.
I have just graduated from ANU. I am an international student from Singapore. I love watching comedy shows , my favourite being Brooklyn- nine nine. I love chocolate and dancing. I studied psychology and management at ANU . I like my own time but happy to hang out as well! I am a tidy person and like to keep my surroundings clean.
I’m a fulltime law/science student at ANU just coming back from an exchange in Scotland, and a bit of a holiday round Europe. I’m tidy, polite, like a bit of socialising but enjoy keeping to myself too.
Originally a Melbourne girl, been in Canberra for a year and loving it. I'm a clean, tidy, non-smoker. I work in APS and am studying a double masters part-time. I also do musical theatre so be prepared to be serenaded occasionally haha. I would love to find housemates that I can chat and hang out with, but I also like to keep to myself every once and a while - especially during study periods.
