I'm moving up to Canberra from Melbourne to start a graduate position at the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare. Looking for a laid-back, chill but tidy and respectful established household. I am a clean, pretty laid-back individual! I love a good Netflix binge, inviting friends over for dinner and drink or two and engaging in a good discussion about current world affairs. Am into films, festivals and gigs and keen to see how Canberra compares to Melbs. Do enjoy hiking, am trying to get active again and love using my bike for commuting. Let me know if you're interested! PS I actually have no photos of me by myself right now, so that's me with my lovely trekking guide in Vietnam.
Hi, I'm Chris, a 22 year old student from Sydney whose moving to Canberra to commence a Bachelor of Nursing. I formerly lived in a 40 person Housing Co-operative in Sydney called Stucco. Stucco has taught me the value of living in communal spaces, so I very interested in finding somewhere that is lively and homely.
Moving to Canberra from Victoria to work full time. Looking for a place to share. Anything that is reasonably priced and close to Watson where I will be working would be great. I'm clean, cool, fun and hoping to hear from someone soon. I will need a place from January 7. I am particularly interested in teaming up with 1 (maybe 2 max) other person (s) to find a place to share together. Chuck us a message!
I have recently accepted an offer to work full-time for the Department of Veterans' Affairs as an ICT Graduate, and am looking for accommodation starting in early January. I am moving to Canberra from Brisbane on the 7th of January, though I am flexible, and more than happy to join a lease prior. I am twenty one years of age, and have recently completed my undergraduate Bachelor of Information Technology, with a major in Software Development, from Griffith University. I am an easy-going, considerate and sociable person, and am a strong believer in cleanliness. I have a passion for travelling and enjoy playing computer games in my free time.
I'm a 21 year old uni student, studying law and as well as working part-time. Next year I will be in my last year of study, so I'm not really concerned where in Canberra I live (so long as I have a house). I also work as a paralegal (yes like Rachel from Suits). I am outgoing, talkative person. Always up for a hang out but also appreciative of space. Also like my living space clean. I'm looking for like-minded people, who don't mind a hang out every now and again. But also appreciate the need for space and quiet when studying. In my spare time I like to hike, scuba dive and generally get out of the house. Hit me up if you want to know more, I never know what to say in these things. :)
Hey! I'm Astrid. I'm moving to Canberra from Brisbane in early January to start working full-time in Parliament House. I've just completed my university degree, studying IT, and am super keen to pursue this new opportunity. Don't let that little '20' next to my name fool you, I think the fact that I'm moving to Canberra for work at my age should say enough about the kind of person I am. I'm a hard worker, though I'm also up for a few casual drinks or meals after work, but I am by no means the partying and clubbing type. I'm really looking forward to having more time to get out and about and exercise, so if you're into rock climbing, road tripping, kayaking, bike riding or whatever else then that's great! I'll be heading down to Canberra on the 3rd of January, but I've generously been given 3 weeks temporary accommodation by my department, so I'm sorted for somewhere to live until the 24th. However, I would really like to spend that time searching for a new place to call home, and would love to come and check out any places or catch up for a couple drinks to meet any new potential housemates. I'm not particular on the length of time, but I'm not looking for short-term accommodation. 4 to 12 months + would be great!
Hey ! I'm French and I'm moving to Canberra for an internship beginning of January. I have been studying in Sydney for a year. I like traveling, hiking, politics, contemporary art, cycling, good food and drinks with friends. I am a clean and respectful flatmate. I would like to find a flat where everyone can have his private space but also sometimes where we can have dinner or casual drinks ! Looking for a flat with a good atmosphere. See you !
This is a beautiful and recently renovated house that is situated in the heart of Ainslie, only a 2 minute walk from the local shops, a short 5 minute drive from the Dickson shops and Lonsdale street; and only a 10 minutes to the ANU or Canberra city centre. The house has central air conditioning and heating as well as a wood fire-place. The common areas have large bi-fold doors connecting the lounge room to the outdoor decks and seating areas. The Kitchen is expansive and includes a butler's pantry, dishwasher, wine cooler as well as a 5 burner gas stove. All other white goods such as the fridge, freezer, washer and dryer are also included. There is also high speed (ADSL2+) unlimited wi-fi that costs only $12 a month. The house is fully furnished except for the two bedrooms although there is certainly the option for you to bring additional furniture. There is also plenty of off-street parking available. We have two rooms available, both are approximately the same size. The room priced at $195 per week includes a built in wardrobe whilst the other room priced at $185 does not. Both rooms are connected to the heating and cooling system and have large windows allowing for a lot of natural light.
I'm a third-year ANU student. I love great chats but also personal space. I'm really tidy and am keen for to take part in the cleaning roster or anything like that. I'm a department officer at the ANU Students Association so will have a steady income to pay fortnightly/monthly rent.
Generally friendly, easy going, like a chat, equally happy to do my own thing. I've been share housing all my life. I'm a bit of a project girl. Every now and then I get a bee in my bonnet and write a script for a short-film or have a down-home community art-photography exhibition or something. I was once an opera singer, but now I mostly just hum quietly in the shower. I love walking on Mt Majura (the moss was amazing this winter!). I'm looking for one or more mature flatmates, and I'm pretty partial to houses with big north facing windows.
I am from Sydney and I will be moving to Canberra to start an APS job. I enjoy socialising but also my down time and love a good cup of coffee! I like to get out on the weekends and explore the city, especially bush walking and swimming to keep fit. Having lived out of home for a number of years I know how to look after myself. I'm tidy and respectful especially in shared spaces. I love animals and would be more than happy to share with someone with pets although I don't have any myself.
Heya! I'm studying English (with a focus on theatre studies) and film at ANU, which I decided on after changing my degree three times. I'm a big fan of Radiohead, Alt-J, Bowie, Boy & Bear... the list is too long, but I would love to find somewhere to have a jam every now and then! I want to find somewhere social and relaxed where the housemates are exactly that, mates. I prefer a bev or two on a sunny afternoon over civic. I don't really know what else to say, my favourite colour is purple, spicy food is where it's at and dogs are fab. Ask away if you wanna know more. P.S. I'm a social smoker, it won't let me tick a box for that.
Hi, I'm a friendly, tidy, and considerate 21 year old student looking for a sharehouse in the ACT. The lease to my current place (that I've rented for three years) is ending in early January but I'd love to move sometime this month before the Christmas rush, so I'm quite flexible on dates. I'm often out and about either with uni or work but in my spare time I enjoy baking, cycling, second hand shopping, board games, hiking, and reading. I currently don't drive which is good for the flexibility of an extra car space for guests and other housemates!! However, I do ride a bike and will need a safe place to keep it.
I am a young professional. I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I do a lot of exercise in my free time and I enjoy listening to music. I am accommodating and relaxed. I keep the house tidy. Every few weeks I will bring a group of friends around for a taco and board game night.
Iam looking for 1x Bed 1x Bathroom 1x Carpark Looking at around January - Fenruary 2017+. A working professional and i'll be mainly at work from 7am to 6pm Monday to Fridays. I am extremely clean, tidy and quiet and trust worthy, a non smoker. Also, will help in keeping the place clean and tidy. Alternatively looking at teaming/ sharing a 2x Bed, 2x Bathroom, Carpark (under cover) Bills to share (internet, Water, Elec.). Message me your details ASAP to discuss further
i'm a geographer from melbourne starting a phd in sociology at anu. my favourite material thing is my bike nimbus. i have no musical ability whatsoever, but i like listening to those who do. i also like films and i'm currently making a documentary of my own. i speak german and mandarin. i enjoy baking, but i don't think i'm very good at it. if you've got one, i would love to be involved in a veggie garden
I have just accepted my offer into the Master of Economics at ANU, and am looking for accommodation around uni. I am currently scheduling the move to Canberra for the first week of February, but am flexible if you would prefer earlier/ later. A bit about me: I am 23, and completed my undergrad in 2015 from the University of Sydney, majoring in Political Economy and International Relations. I grew up in Pakistan, and moved to Australia in 2011. I am half Australian and half Pakistani (have passports from both countries). I have been sharing with my housemates in Sydney since March last year, and have grown to love them very much. I know when to keep to myself, but also like being able to come home and share the occasional dinner/drinks. I clean up after myself always, and contribute to the household regularly. I am easy going, and will be working part time and studying the rest of the time.
From day-to-day, I love to cook, be healthy, practice yoga, go for runs, watch movies, read, and listen to music. Less day-to-day, I enjoy travelling abroad and road-tripping at home. I'm from Canberra, but have lived in the USA as a dual citizen; currently studying human rights and development studies at the ANU while working on the side. Also passionate about the environment and responsible consumerism.
Hi all! My name is Laura, I am a postgraduate student obtaining my Masters in Globalisation at ANU. I am originally from the United States, but am quite familiar with Canberra as this will be my second year of uni. I am looking to move closer to the city as right now I feel I live too far, and my modes of transportation do not get me there and back fast enough. Ideally, a 10-minute bike ride is as far as I would have to go. I am clean, tidy, and friendly. I enjoy cooking, socialising, wine, game nights, and some down time. I am looking for a place to call home ideally with individuals who want to be more than just roommates and enjoy some socialising. Looking to move in end of January/early February. Please contact me for this listing through message as I am out of the country until the new year! Thank you!
The room: has a built in wardrobe and is medium to large sized. There is certainly more than enough room to fit a double or queen bed and a dresser/shelves and a desk. The house: a charming, light-filled house in north Ainslie, with wooden floorboards, yellow walls and a dungeon (!) 4 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with separate toilet. It’s a bit of an older style house, but we keep it clean pretty easily and have a cleaning roster. The backyard is huge, with a gate that opens out onto the Ainslie reserve. If you have a car, parking is available on the street. Bus routes are nearby and it’s only a quick cycle to the city (10 minutes). It’s about a three minute walk to our local, Ainslie shops. Financial stuff: rent and bills are split equally between the house members. We pay gas, electricity, water and internet. Bills are generally cheap even with ducted heating. Note: absolutely no pets, couples or children. Room available: ideally early December, but dates flexible. Rent: $125 per week (so cheap!), paid monthly ($500) + bills. We are looking to interview now as we are keen to get someone in ASAP who will be a good fit.
Dearest future flatmates, I'm moving to the nation's capital for work (journo) and am keen to bunker down with some like-minded souls. Ideally, I'm looking for a sharehouse full of young professionals who work hard, but still enjoy a Friday knockoff/midweek red. I’m a Brisvegas boy originally but have spent my post uni years working in Victoria. I'm 25, enjoy a decent movie, page-turner or chingwag, but my first love is sport and getting outdoors (keen snowboarder). I've been lucky enough to do more than my fair share of travel and tend to spend my annual leave exploring somewhere new. I only know one person in Canberra so am keen to meet some new people from all walks of life and will likely play some social sport. What can I bring to the house? - I've lived in sharehouses in Australia and overseas since I was 18 and understand what makes for good vibes and when people need their space. - I make a pretty deadly chicken-bacon carbonara and prefer house cookups over solo couch meals, but appreciate the latter has its place. - On rare occasions I have been known to provide that tricky trivia night answer after pulling out some random (albeit mostly useless) fact. - I can be talked into trying most things, especially new food or checking out gigs of up-and-coming musicians/comedians. Don't hesitate to shoot me questions or hit up any past/present people I've shared a roof with. Cheers potential roomies, ET
Hi, my name is Georgia. Looking to move out around the inner north in early to mid January with a friend (possibly - or just me). Easy to live with, happy & social person yet very busy with work and training on weekdays! I'm an early riser and work as an exercise physiologist. On top of cooking and cleaning etc!
I am moving to Canberra in late January/early February from Melbourne to commence an APS graduate program on the 6th February. I am looking to move into a share house with other people in their mid 20s. As I am new to Canberra it would be great to live with people I get on with socially as well and don't just keep to themselves. It would be bonus if the people I live with enjoy/tolerate my dad jokes and dry sense of humour. I would like a house that is kept clean in common areas, but I would say I am fairly easy going and I'm not going to yell at you if you haven't got around to doing the dishes yet (as long as you are going do them eventually) or your room isn't spotless. I certainly do not mind a party (preferably at someone else's house) or just a casual sunday drink, but it's sometimes also great to spend a Saturday night chilling on the couch and watching a movie. I would love to cook and share a meal with my housemates once in a while as well. I don't really have many hobbies, I love true crime podcasts and watching tv shows, going for walks and going to the gym. I've been studying for 5 years so maybe I will find some new hobbies now I am free haha. I would like to live in the inner/suburban north but I am open to other areas as long as it isn't too far by bus/car to work in the (north side) city centre. I am hoping to pay $200 a week (or less), but again I am open to up to $250 if the place and people are right. I would also prefer to live in a house/townhouse as opposed to an apartment, as I'd prefer having an outdoor area (even if it is small). Please feel free to message me to ask me anything :)
I am a winter-loving, foodaholic moving to Canberra to work with the APS. I enjoy cooking, going to markets, playing boardgames and the occasional dinner-party. Although sad to be leaving Melbourne, my gorgeous flat, my family, friends and housemates AND my previous student/barista life behind, I am super excited about this next step and all the amazing people I'll meet and places I'll see!
I'm a student about to start my first year of a PhD at the ANU, studying diseases of plants. Overall, I'd consider myself a reasonable, easy going person. I'm also clean but not obsessive about it. Ideally, I'm looking for a place where I can be friends with the people I'm living with though I'm also happy living with people that like to keep to themselves. I'm a bit of a workaholic so I may be a bit hard to come by during the week but I'm always willing to hang out on the weekends.
Hi there! I'm a 32 year old Australian, looking for long term accommodation in Canberra. I don't have a car and ride everywhere, so I am looking in suburbs not too far from the university; inner north and eastern suburbs. I'm easy-going, reliable and tidy, and as such looking for similar flatmates. I'm very sociable, and would like to live in a house with like-minded people, with whom I can have a beer, a chat and a laugh. I'm doing a PhD in linguistics at ANU and go away often for my research. I have no pets and I don't smoke, but I do have a cello. If you think we'd be great housemates place please get in touch! Cheers, Alex.
Hi ! I'm a french student in an engineering school in Paris. I am currently in a gap year and after 6 months in Sweden, I will spend 6 months in Canberra for an internship at the CSIRO. I will be working there full time from mid february to the end of july. I'm pretty social but also like to have my own space, I am used to live with flatmates. I am respectful of others and clean! As I will come from France, I won't have any furniture, so I am looking for a furnished room. I am very excited to live in Australia for six months, I hope I'll meet new friends and I am looking for room in a friendly home!
This little house situated right in the heart of Ainslie is the perfect share house. Multiple bus stops are located within a minutes walk of the house, with Ainslie and Dickson shopping precincts being located a short 7 and 15 minute walk away respectively. The kitchen is modern, having been renovated recently, and the house has both air conditioning and gas heating, and comes fully furnished, with the exception of the two available bedrooms. Unlimited internet and the water bill are both included in the rent, and electricity and gas bills are split evenly three ways.
I have recently graduated from UWA and have secured a 1 year grad program in canberra, hence the search for a place to sleep! Being from the Kimberley in northern WA I enjoy outdoor adventures like 4wd, gorge walks, hiking etc. as well as hanging out at home chatting over chill sounds and bevy. My grad program doesn't start until Feb, so I'm not looking to move in until around Jan but have been warned that is when every man and his dog looks for a cribbo. Help us out, I'll pay in barra, bants and of course cash dollars when rent + bills are due!
I'm a pretty easy going uni student! I hope to be working full time next year in the city and decided it was time to move a bit closer! I just finished my second year at UC (Industrial Design) and will be studying part time next semester. I'm pretty chatty but also respect privacy/time out. I don't have any pets but also wouldn't mind if housemates did (especially dogs! <3) Also my move in date is pretty flexible anytime around the beginning of 2017 :) Feel free to message me if you have anywhere that you think would work! :) Thanks!!
