Hello! I’m Dąbrówka, I'm a 23 years old PhD student and I am coming to Canberra for 5 months next year to do a University internship at ANU - so I’m looking for a room exactly for the period of 10th Jan to 31st May. Since I'm coming to Australia only for that time I need the room to by fully-furnished, with an equipped kitchen and I would really really appreciate if I could also borrow and use some beddings and linens! I would prefer the room to be with own bathroom, but I'm looking forward to any offer ;) A little bit about myself – I am doing a PhD in physics, I'm passionate about science, but also with many other hobbies - I love travelling, visiting new places and learning about other cultures, love sport (especially cycling and stretching, but any movement is great), good books, psychology, environment and vegan food ;) I am very very tidy (I always keep the room I live in clean) responsible and peaceful person, generally calm and quiet and liking my own private space, but love to make nice conversations and meeting new people too! I’m generally very easy-going and non-problematic, so I'm sure we can get along ;) It's important to me for the apartment to be warm in colder times (since I get chilly quite easily!) and to be within cycling distance to ANU and hopefully not to far from some supermarket. Please contact me if you have any offers! Cheers :)
Hey there! We're Lexie and Matt - two good mates and recent Canberra arrivals from Adelaide. Lexie is a current APS grad and Matt is moving up in January 2020 to start his grad year... more grads in Canberra we hear you say? What a surprise! We lived together for a couple of years in Adelaide and had a great time so we're hoping to recreate the vibe now we'll both be in Canberra - we're friendly, relaxed and more than happy to pull our weight with cleaning and cooking etc etc. We're looking for a house of people who are easy going and who are keen to hang out and share a meal and a few drinks every now and again. That said, we also know how crazy work and study can be and we all need time alone to recharge. A little more about Lexie... I love hiking, camping and getting outdoors, I try to ride my bike wherever I can, and I try to live sustainably. I enjoy cooking, baking and Netflix binging in my free time. Some info about Matt.... I love sports of almost every kind, particularly Basketball and AFL footy (but also cricket, NFL, NHL & just about anything current). I enjoy running regularly, cooking and eating new and interesting food & also unwinding with movies/tv shows/video games. Basically always down for a chat! If you think we'd get along and you have two rooms opening up January please let us know! Cheers :)
Hi I'm Steph, 31, originally from Victoria but have been living along the east coast and overseas for too many years to be considered a proper Victorian anymore. I'm working as an ecologist/research scientist, starting a position at ANU come December, having been in France for work. The perks of the job include fieldwork out in the desert and up in the mountains, so I get to travel a bit and love it. I keep a 9 - 5ish work week but with fieldwork can be away for 2 - 3 weeks. I'm a relaxed, outgoing, open minded, and happy to have a chat (science, nature, art and modern takes on philosophy are my jam), but also respectful of other people's space. On weekends, I like to get outdoors whether it be hiking, bike riding, gardening, catching up with friends or playing soccer, but definitely indulge in cafe culture, gigs and lazy days every now and again. I'm perpetually in pursuit of finding the best laksa, and almond croissants, and cook mostly plant based meals at home, I like to cook for others, but probably have a higher than usual tolerance for spicy food so fair warning. I bake sporadically, certainly not a contender for The Great British Bake Off. I'm looking for a cosy environmentally conscious home with some lovely people to share it with. I come bearing an eclectic collection of spices, pizza stone, slow cooker, mixer and good knives.
I am a 21 year old student from Sydney who is moving down to Canberra to study a PhD in Clinical Psychology at the Australian National University (ANU). I am not particularly fussy about the suburb I move to in ACT, so please feel free to reach out if you're within 20-ish minutes from ANU. I am someone who is very easy to live with as I am very independent, organised, tidy, relatively quiet, but also sociable and easy to get along with. I also do not smoke or drink alcohol. I will be at uni full-time and suspect that I will spend the vast majority of my time there. Ultimately, I am looking for a place to stay where I can sleep, shower, use the kitchen in the mornings and evenings, and be able to relax. I would also enjoy socialising with my housemates here and there too, but am happy to provide people with the privacy and space they need as well. I am looking to spend around $175-$200 (maximum). I am looking for a place to stay for Semester 1 so the the specific start date for my moving would be the 22nd of February to the 29th of May 2020 (the end of Semester 2). I would then be moving back to Sydney until Semester 2 which begins on the 1st of June 2020. Perhaps if there is still a vacancy to extend my stay from the 1st of June, we could perhaps talk about extending it for the second semester but for now I’m just asking for first semester (22/02/2020-29/05/2020).
I have lived in several share-houses and understand the need for space and socialisation! I work full-time and love coming home to a nice place to unwind. Keen to chill with a beer and hangs with housemates, but save partying for outside the home. Ideally I would live with people who are conscious of cleanliness but not obsessive and happy to cook a meal or watch a movie together but also have our own lives. Respect and kindness are two attributes that make me easy to live with. I am a social person and excited to live in a new city and try new hobbies. I play netball and tennis, enjoy pottery and gardening, and plan to explore the surrounding national parks and beaches around Canberra.
Hi, I work full time in Canberra driving heavy vehicles. I'm looking for considerate people to live with who are relaxed and mature. I'm quiet and clean up after myself and am willing to help when and if needed. I'm away every second weekend too. I am happy to have a chat but am just as happy to enjoy hermitude.
Hello, my name is Maria. I’m an international student starting the semester at ANU this coming January of 2020. I am easy going and friendly. I like to keep my space orderly and clean so you’ll never worry of a mess! One of my biggest hobbies I enjoy is practicing my passion for music or otherwise spending time with people I am closest to. Joining me is my boyfriend, Mason. Coming from NSW he will be doing any house inspections before i arrive. He is a kind friendly gent. He doesn’t bother anyone and in his spare time mostly likes to catch up on a good show or movie.
I'm from Melbourne, moving to Canberra for a grad program in February 2020. I'm friendly, easygoing, tidy and independent. I'm happy doing my own thing but also hope to make new friends (as I don't know many people in Canberra), and am down to hang out/shared dinners/movies/bevs etc. I lived in a 12-person sharehouse in Switzerland for 6 months, so I'm used to sharing my space and contributing to chores etc., and enjoy living in a place where there is plenty going on (but also need my downtime). A bit about me: I love to travel, and have lived in France, Switzerland and Canada. I love animals (but am sadly allergic to cats) and sometimes look after Guide Dog puppies in training. I'm an enthusiastic (but not overly talented) skier and am looking forward to being close to the slopes in Canberra next year. I'm a non-smoker, and prefer to live with non-smokers. I'm looking to find other young professionals or students to share a centrally located house or apartment in 2020. I hope to be able to cycle to work, so would like to be less than 10km from Parliament. Feel free to get in touch if you are also in the same boat! Cheers.
I'm a prospective(LAW) JD student at ANU, not noisy at all, kind of obsessed with cleaning, extremely disciplined, kind of shy at first impression, completely friendly in a respectful manner. quite good at housekeeping stuff. bookworm also a movie lover. a good confidant and listener.( Bachelor of Law and sociology)
Hey! I'm Sandhya. I'm originally from WA and moved to canberra in 2018 to start full-time work with the Australian Public Service next year. I love a good cup of coffee (but I swear I’m not a coffee addict), enjoy watching soccer (and playing it) and am always up for a game of monopoly, cranium or any other boardgame. Looking for a housemate that I can share an occasional meal with when we’re both home or chats over wine. Most importantly, I’m tidy (with a love of on point design aesthetics), respectful of personal space and down time, and can contribute top notch baking skills.
Full-time APS wage slave and part time student at ANU finishing my undergrad. Looking for a share-house of friendly, thoughtful people who are happy to hang out with each other and friends, but also don't mind when you feel like hanging out in your room to unwind. LGBT+ friendly is a must. I'm generally clean and tidy but I also don't mind odd bits and pieces lying around. I also take incredibly short showers. Interests: - Music - Mostly indie. A lot of indie - Tilleys, OCI, or Civic with friends - Political or D&D podcasts - Reading either fantasy series or research material
