We have a double room available in a great house that is sunny and warm conveniently located in Ashbury, a peaceful friendly suburb tucked in behind Ashfield and up the road from Summerhill, Dulwich Hill and Canterbury. We are on a corner property with 3 bedrooms, two large living areas, spacious kitchen and dining that opens to a little terrace overlooking a large back yard where we grow our herbs and vegies. Rent is $265 per week plus bills to cover utilities (gas, electricity and internet) and sundries for the house. Room can be furnished or unfurnished and is available now. Featuring high ceilings, reverse cycle air conditioning (which we rarely need to use) and two large living rooms the house is light-filled and well-built, with gas kitchen, instant hot water and quirky retro tiles an Italian Nonna would love (haha). We have a bathroom with shower and separate tub as well as a second loo in the laundry. We are a 2 minute walk from bus stops with regular services to nearby stations in Ashfield (express stop to city) and Canterbury and close to shopping centres in both suburbs, no more than a 5 minute bus ride in either direction. The bus services run all the way to the Sydney CBD and Hurstville.

A little house within a house! We have a very large, unfurnished room available within our Ashfield share house for $390 per week including bills. Due to its size, the room is well suited to either a couple or someone looking for some extra space. You will be sharing with three gorgeous humans, all in their mid-twenties to early thirties. The house is queer friendly and very relaxed, though we do like to throw the occasional soirée. The room itself is 8m x 4m, has high ceilings, an ornamental fireplace, and is divided by wooden French folding doors. This gives you the versatility of your very own living room or study alongside your bedroom. The room faces onto a quiet street and the house is above ground-level, making for a comfortable living environment. The house has five bedrooms total (including a spare) and a tonne of character, complete with a grand staircase leading to the front door and even its own bar! There is a separate shower and bath in the main bathroom, and a second toilet in the laundry. We have a large kitchen, with plenty of bench and cupboard space and gas cooktops. We currently use the spare room both as extra storage as well as a space to occasionally host friends when they stay over. Unfortunately, the house isn’t currently wheelchair accessible as it is a bit of an older house. There is a large staircase leading to the front door and about 2-3 steps leading into the back door, with a small drop-off within the house between the extensions. However, we are more than happy for you to come and take a look to assess this for yourself. We are looking fill the space by the 20th of the July so we would love to hear from you! Extra brownie points if you have a fridge or washing machine also in need of a home. Either pm or email if you’re interested. We have attached photos of the room with and without furniture, so you can get a real feel of the space. This is a sun filled apartment in a very quiet area (end of a Cul de sac) very close to the Cooks River. There's a lovely shared garden at the back and there's only 10 units in the building. There's a brand new day-bed in the bedroom, which was originally set up as a study. The bed can be turned into a double. If used as single, I can provide linen. I'm open to get rid of the desk and make more space for a long term stay. The unit has an internal laundry and a balcony. The bathroom has a bath tab and separate shower. Ideal for someone 'travelling light' as the apartment if fully equiped. There are a few things stored in the wardrobe which I need to keep there, but there's sufficient storage space.

We are Ben and Lauren from Texas and Brisbane. We have been living overseas (Asia and S. America) for some time and have made the move back to Australia for work in construction and law. We are currently doing one last road trip from Perth to Sydney before settling down for a while. We have both lived in several different share-houses so we are "house trained", so to speak. We like to keep it neat, but we're definitely not the passive aggressive sticky note kind of housemates. We're pretty easy-going people and happy to socialize. We are both huge travel geeks! Whenever we have free time we are hoping to get out of the city to go hiking and camping. Besides that we are into sports, running, rock climbing, yoga, books, movies, phat chats, and we love animals but don't have any of our own. Hope to hear from ya'll soon!
