Hi, I'm Ellie, and I'm looking to move sometime over the next 8 weeks or so (can move quite quickly if need be). I'm 25 and work full time in the city. I'm friendly and easy going, neat and tidy. I'm not really looking for a party house, I don't mind a few drinks with mates from time to time but mostly I like my down-time at home. I'm friendly and sociable but equally can keep to myself if that's what the house dynamic is! Happy to split bills and share housework.
I work full time in government like most people in this town. I enjoy cycling, bars, road trips, and travel. I'm clean, easygoing and respectful of others' space. All the good things you want in a housemate. Active outside the house but am always happy to chat over dinner or a glass of wine! Available to move in anytime between now and November 13!
Hello! I am George, a 27 year old uni student from Melbourne. I am looking for a room in a sharehouse LONG TERM (AT least until late June next year, ideally for 1+ year). I will be in Canberra from November 7th, ready to inspect places and sign a lease ASAP for the right house! Prefer North Canberra or somewhere with an express bus to the city northside of the river IE: Bruce or Belconnen central. I'm Australian, I study Arts (history/literary studies) and will be studying at ANU next year. I'm clean, respectful of other people's belongings and shared living spaces. I am also very financially responsible. Little about me: I am mature, quiet and reserved but still like spending time with housemates in front of the TV or sharing a meal. I like literature, history, politics, film, tv, philosophy, cooking, and can speak Spanish! I would really like roommates who I can form friendships with but it's okay if we don't :)
Hi everyone I am an Melbournian who is living in Singapore. In November 2016, I am moving to Canberra or Sydney for a few months with my Singaporean GF. We prefer a furnished room in a clean place and are happy to share bathrooms. - Being close to a supermarket is an important consideration. - Animal tenants are a plus - Sadly, I am NOT cool and don't smoke. In Singapore, we own property, have tenants and have been paying tenants in the past. We know how to co-exist happily with other people and maintain premises. We are quite responsive to the needs to our housemates and can play hermit or socialite roles equally well. Want to know more, send a message and we can look for a productive house-sharing arrangements! Merry Halloween David
Hello!! Moving up to Canberra from Melbourne in January for full time work and looking for a room to stay. I like to think im super fun to be around. Really active, love having a chat and sharing a drink or going an adventure, as well as appreciative of peoples personal space and down time. Hit me up :)
Hi I'm Wasim Im a funny out going friendly dude. I grew up in a house with 10 people so I know how to share stuff as well as workloads and live cohesively with oodles of other people. I'm the type of dude that if I'm doing my own dishes and yours are in the sink I'll probably help out and do yours as well. Im looking to stay somewhere that's semi close to my work on Marcus Clarke St. I'm a full time office manager but I promise I'm not a bore! I like to gym, read and enjoy drinks with good company. I'm a great cook (slow poached noodles with spicy thai seasoning anyone?) and am neat and tidy although not anal. Thanks for reading!
Hello! I'll be starting full-time work with the public service in February 2017 and as such am looking for flatmates :) About me - I see myself as a friendly, but not overly boisterous person. I I like to keep active - swimming, cycling, and hiking are things I like to do for fun. I also love to cook and would be open to the occasional shared meal. As a newcomer to Canberra, I'll be keen for a chat over a beer and game for adventures in the CBD or bushland. That being said, I also value privacy and the need to feel 'at home' and comfortable in living situations. You can expect me to be courteous and friendly :) I am looking for two or three relaxed housemates who are happy for a chat. I value open communication, shared housework (roster perhaps?) and tidy shared living areas. Feel free to message me if you're looking to start a share house or in need of a flatmate - would love to meet you!
Seeking a new housemate to share this charming secure top floor (level 1) apartment located in the quieter side of Braddon. The apartment is a two bedroom, two bathroom and a balcony, with beautiful natural lighting in the shared kitchen and living room. Surroundings include a local five minute walk to Braddon's cafe strip, a local corner food shop at the end of the street, close access to public transport and a park around the corner. The bedroom will be unfurnished when vacant in early November 2016.
I am in my final year at ANU, and my friend and I are looking to find a place to live. We are looking for a three bedroom place that is close to ANU but also to Dickson and would love to either find someone with 2 spare rooms or find a roommate to join us in a new house. We are both friendly, clean people who enjoy a chat over wine or a movie but also respect everyones space and need for time alone. Ideally we would like to move in in late November. If you are interested in joining us send me a message
I am a Canberra local who enjoys staying fit, music and travel. I am respectful of others and like to keep a clean and tidy household. I work full-time in IT and have active social life. I am easy going and like to get to know people but i'm also happy doing my own thing. I would be interested in teaming up to rent a house as I already have my own furniture and appliances. I am available from early November.
Hi, I'm a postgraduate student looking to share a place with sociable people (no worries, I also have great respect for private space). I prefer gathering and hanging out with friends for a round of drink every now and then over wild party nights. A casual chat at home while sharing a drink will also do the trick--add some video games and sports in the mix too! Cheers!
Hi, I'm Phoebe, a first year ANU student. I'm studying PPE and Art History and work a part time job which keeps me pretty busy. I'm looking for a place with my friend Alastair, also a student. We're both clean and respectful people who are open to sharing dinner and a glass of wine but also having our own space :)
Hi, I'm Cameron, 24, and I'm moving up to Canberra to start a new job. I've lived in Melbourne my whole life, and in the past, I've been at uni studying chemistry and graduated with my Masters. The two things I spend the most resources would be travel and music. I like getting outdoors too, and always up for trying new things. I stay on top of mess, and do actually like cooking. I consider myself a social person, but considerate of others' space.
What makes me great to live with? The generosity with which I share my wine! But seriously, I'm later year ANU student looking for a place to call home in 2017. Currently solo backpacking around Europe, so I guess I could call myself independent, but also friendly and down to earth. Have share-housed a couple of times before, and spent the last six months in hostels, so I'm keenly aware of being a considerate housemate. (Email/website is currently best contact)
I'm 22, working multiple jobs, super reliable, easy going and very tidy when it comes to shared spaces, I'm pretty quiet and prefer nights in but still keen to hang out with a drink and a game or movie every now and then
nursing student, singer, works on llama farms. I'm a simple guy who gets on with pretty much anyone who has a sense of humour. I have a dog, Blue Bear, house trained and goes to work with me so we'd only be home in the afternoons. My lease is ending so Blue Bear and I are needing a room pretty soon. I am clean, organised and considerate of others. Its been really hard finding a room for me and Blue Bear so any help would be greatly appreciated. Love to cook. Pineapple on Pizza is Satan incarnate though.
My Name is Jen. I am a single, 22 year old, moving to Canberra around November to December. I am currently in my final year of Uni, and I'm starting a grad job in Canberra with the APS in January 2017. I enjoy going for runs, to the gym, reading and just hanging out with friends. I am laid back and easy to get along with. I am looking to not only share accommodation but to make new friends.
Bubbly, outgoing and neat individual, who likes going to the gym and exploring the outdoors. I don't smoke or get rowdy, and am looking to live with friendly people as I am moving to Canberra from Sydney for full-time work. I'm sociable and definitely will hold my end of the deal when it comes to household chores! I don't mind having a beverage with my flatmates, eating good food and having a tv show marathon. But I also am respectful of personal space and giving people their own down time.
I am looking for someone to sublet my room in the Canberra Student Housing Co-operative from November 17th, 2016 to Febuary 15th, 2017. A week or so either side is okay but I need someone who will be available for the majority of that time. The co-op vibrant, all-inclusive and co-operative community in the heart of Canberra city! It is located on 85 Northbourne Avenue, Turner, a five minute walk away from Canberra Centre and ANU campus. Bills and internet are included in the rent, this is by far the cheapest option you will find for accomidation in an inner city location. Canberra Student Housing Co-operative provides affordable and secure housing to Canberra students, self-managing a unique living environment that lives and breathes community, sustainability and member empowerment. We seek to create a home away from home where residents share responsibility and can learn from and support one another. Social, friendly professional newish to Canberra originally from Sydney, like to keep fit and healthy. Usually keep busy with work/gym/study but also like to go out to take the edge off :) Happy to do my own thing or have dinners/drinks together Cheers
HEY! I'm neat, clean, quiet. I'm good with house work and chores, not afraid to take on some responsibilities. I'm great with pets, especially dogs. I'm just interested to get on with my studies , explore Canberra, and focus on working on things that will get me somewhere in life. =)
The Apartment is situated close to the civic, there is also an outdoor pool within the complex, Transportation is very accessible and a few minutes away from the CBR bus stations, Canberra mall, ANU and Central business disctrict. Also, it is very near londsdale street which is a street of restaurants, bars and shopping outlets.
From day-to-day, I love to cook, be healthy, practice yoga, go for runs, watch movies, read, and listen to music. Less day-to-day, I enjoy travelling abroad and road-tripping at home. I'm from Canberra, but have lived in the USA as a dual citizen; currently studying human rights and development studies at the ANU while working on the side. Also passionate about the environment and responsible consumerism.
I'm a first year ANU student who is looking for a new place to stay. I'm respectful and will always keep common areas clean. I love to watch movies and tv shows but am also a lover of books. I take my studies pretty seriously so when I have assignments I will pretty much be locked up in my room procrastinating. However, other than that I am quite sociable and enjoy a good chat with my roommates. I'm a pretty chill person and not much really gets to me that easily. Did I mention my love of animals? I seriously love animals. I had two dogs, a cat, a couple turtles, a hamster... In other words, I have no problems with pets. Also, I grew up in a bunch of different places (Malaysia and Japan just to name a couple) so I'm also really into traveling and learning about new cultures. Actually I myself am half Japanese and Australian so culture is one of my "things" I guess. If you're a friendly, inviting person who is open to living with a laid back person like me, please don't hesitate to contact me because I think we'd make perfect housemates!
WHO: I’m planning to move from Melbourne to Canberra soon - I have my eyes on ANU in 2018 so I want to spend the next year working and getting myself set up in Canberra. I’m quiet, independent and prefer to keep to myself. I’m not unfriendly and am happy to chat now and then but I am definitely not a party person. I’m clean, tidy and organised – when you see me around the house it will most likely be when I’m cleaning or in the kitchen preparing my meals for the week. I’m (mostly) vegan, don’t drink or smoke, and I am queer-friendly and pet-friendly. WHAT: I’m looking for a tidy sharehouse that I can come home to after work and on weekends knowing I can relax in peace and quiet. Ideal housemates will be tidy, responsible, and considerate of others. I don’t mind if you drink/smoke/eat meat as long as there’s no smoking indoors or drunkenness, and you don’t hang **** on me about my choices! I am looking for an unfurnished room that can fit a single bed, large chest of drawers, bookcase and desk. I will also need somewhere to park my car and some space in a kitchen cupboard for the bit of kitchenware I have. Internet access is also desirable. I’m hoping not to spend more than $200pw (plus bills) but would consider paying more for the right place. I’m hoping to stay long-term, but will also consider short-term opportunities. WHERE: As a newbie to Canberra I have no preference for area, so don’t be put off if your suburb is not in my list. My priority is finding the right place with affordable rent. WHEN: I can be flexible – hoping for mid- November but it will depend on what happens with work in Melbourne and, of course, when the right place is available. I would consider paying rent earlier than my actual move to secure the right place. HOW: I’m coming to Canberra next weekend (29-30 October) hoping to check out some places on the Saturday, and Sunday if need be. So if you would like to meet me and show me your place, or know more about me, please text or message me by Friday with a bit about your place and why you think I’ll be a good fit, and we’ll go from there. I might not be able to get around to everyone so the more you can tell me, the better!
I recently graduated from ANU with an Honours in Geography and now I'm hanging out in Canberra just having a seriously lovely time. I'm into climate justice and poetry, and I like summer evening bike rides and I've just re-discovered Nick Cave (!!!). I'm a Ravenclaw, and my preference is cheap wine or expensive beer. Basically a classic Canberra leftie. I really want a house where people chat and hang out and cook together, not just hide in their rooms. I like places that are neat and tidy, and where everyone respects the space. I have two chickens (Taylor Swift and Lorde). They are good layers but don't have to come with me as pets aren't suitable for every house!
Hi My name is Thibault and I am a French student. I have been in canberra for 4 months so far and I am starting a PhD in physics at the ANU in october. I already live in a sharehouse right now but the lease is ending so I need to find a new place. I have been living with flatmates for the last 3 years so I am used to it. I am easy to live with and clean (without being a cleanliness freak). I am often working late during the week, so you may not see me a lot but I like spending some time with my flatmates during the week-end. I don't have pets but I like animals. I don't smoke but I used to, so it's not a problem for me if you do. Finally I am a musician (guitar and drums) and I love jamming session so I would love to move in with other musicians.
I'm a 24 year old young professional, working as a dance teacher in a local high school, and studying game development at the AIE. I'm very easy going, organised, clean and tidy, and sociable. I'm a busy person and are out and about quite a bit, I am a dancer and keen on doing physical activity and Sport.
Hi! My name is Mandira, I'm a psychology student at the Australian National University. Looking for a roommate to move in with from February onwards. Probably somewhere near The ANU Campus. Please contact me if anyone's interested. :)
