Working professional who is looking for a room with work in Melbourne as home is in Sydney. I will be flying in and out each week. Beyond being a workaholic I regularly enjoy working out. Do enjoy a glass of wine and is social with all. I follow all sports and does enjoy heading to the football on the odd occasion. Very clean and courteous and will provide a welcome contribution to household cleaning activities. Please reach out if my profile suits. Negotiable on the budget for the right location. May also consider longer-term arrangement.
***PLEASE NOTE: Early Bird status delays your message by several days, but we DO reply once we receive it.**** The larger room ($250pw incl Utility bills) is available on 8th August 2019 (our current housemate has had to relocate for proximity to Uni.) - its a large furnished room at $250pw including the Utility bills, a room which can be shared, but the rent is higher when 2 people use the room. No more than 4 people TOTAL will ever live in the house. Usually only 3 live here - 1 person per bedroom. This house is possibly best suited to people (maybe WHVs, shiftworkers or students) who need a quiet and placid home environment with clean, respectable and friendly housemate/s who all have their own things going on, but enjoy chats at home when schedules align. Victorian-era style cottage - VERY small, basic and OLD (has some cracks, squeaks and wobbles befitting the great age of the home) - located in a fantastic and quiet spot, walking distance to everything (400m or less) such as parks, shops, transport, gyms, library, cafes.... Completely vintage, retro, antique decor. Nearly everything is homemade, handed down, recycled, upcycled, repurposed or mended all with stories behind it, and we love it that way! There is no sofa or couch in the living room as a small centrally-placed meals/sitting area fills that function. This sitting area is the communal hub of the home as it is at the end of the hallway and next to both the kitchen and bathroom! It is a high traffic zone! Totally unpretentious, home-y, cozy, clean old school family cottage, like a "Nanna-hobbit" place with a totally lived-in look!!!. Gas cooking and gas instant HWS. Inside toilet and a bathroom which doubles as the laundry. The shower is over the bath. As it is a family-style home, the kitchen has appliances, pots/pans, cutlery, mugs, glasses and plates. Vacuum, dusters, brooms, ironing board/iron, too. Everything! Accessible on respectful 'shared use' basis.. Garden is a TINY shady-green urban jungle wilderness, attracting birds and critters (we always leave a dish of water they can access). NOT big enough for entertaining, there is a compost bin, a few trees, some potted plants, a tiny paved area and good sized washline for drying laundry. We keep the garden fairly 'natural', so the visiting wildlife & birds hang around or often run over the roof at night, raid the compost and potplants, plus occasionally may stare at us through the windows! (Therefore, its a 'no pet' house...)
Hey, I'm Michael, I'm 27 and work as a full-time filmmaker for a production company in Collingwood. I generally work normal hours but have the occasional job on weekends. I'm a very easy going, no drama kind of guy. I enjoy socialising, sports (watching and playing), film, photography, trivia and games. My job keeps me active but I still try to hit the gym once or twice a week. Not a wizard in the kitchen, but I give it a go from time to time. Looking for a young share house with positive vibes, respectful housemates who enjoy a social gathering every now and then!
Hi, I am an electrician and work full time. I have just got back from working a year in Antarctica. So after a year without I am looking to live close to the city to make use of Melbourne's live music scene. I am an honest, easy going guy. Other interests are hiking, nature and wildlife, photography and scuba diving.
I'm a 23yr old psychology graduate moving back to Melbourne in mid-September after having spent a couple months overseas. I adore decent coffee, live music, philosophy, travel, men's fashion, skate boarding, and gaming (..look, this became a thing when I was searching for anything BUT my thesis to waste time on). As far as living with me goes, I've been renting for over seven years, and have learnt a lot about what being a sweet sweet wonderful housemate looks like over that time. I'm very clean, as well as easy going, and I am reliable. I don't have strident expectations as far as contact goes--it'd be swell to be blessed friends with my housemates, but simply catching up here and there is entirely fine. As long as there's a kind and fair atmosphere in the house, then it's happy days! I've spent the entirety of my student life working part-time in a retail environment to get through the uni grind, and will be working steadily in men's suiting 'til I find work in my own field. I'll also be spending a lot of time preparing for masters, which means plenty of hours doing research assistant work, mental health work, and volunteering--so I'll be out of the house for a considerable amount of time! You won't need to worry about me cramping the entirety of your space. Don't hesitate to get in touch; I'm overseas until the 18th of September, so texting won't be the best method of contact--feel free to simply inbox me! x NB: Although I've listed myself as available for a six month lease (and would be entirely happy to proceed with this, especially if the place is a swell match), my preference is for a shorter lease term.
I'm a charity sector professional who loves reading, travel and doing good for the world. Looking to start a new chapter, meet new people and move closer to the city.
I'm a retired film maker, producer, screenwriter and daily street photographer. Until 18 months ago I'd lived overseas for the last five years, predominently in India, Singapore and Norway. It's now time for me to be home in Australia. I have 2 grown children, am previously married so I'm exceptionaly well (self) house-trained. I'm a dog person, love cooking (and cleaning up after myself!), Netflix and my own space. I'm not a party animal, yet enoy the company of others. Non smoking is a given. I need to be in Melbourne for the next 12 months. I would normally rent an apartment, yet current market restrictions and dubious means of leasing are unacceptable. I'm highly atypical for my age, preferring to be amongst energetic, enthusiastic people who enjoy life. Yet I can also be quite solitary at times as I write every day and / spend a lot of time out shooting street photos, although a calm and peaceful home life is necessity. I'm financially highly independant and very reliable (with my own car). I'm also highly respectful of others so expect no less, with good communication essential.
Hi there ☺️ I am looking for something long term as I am going to study in Melbourne for a few years. I am tidy, easy going and respectful. I’d love to have a family vibe going. Love to have a couple of drinks on the weekend but also enjoy a quiet night. Looking forward to hear from you x
Hey there, I’m looking to find a place and housemate who is tidy, sociable, and possibly become my F45/fitness buddy (no pressure)! Lived in London the last 2 years and would like to try something different. Melbourne born and raised, love to cook, super friendly, tidy, and very considerate of others. Not interested in living with couples or pets. Hit me up if I sound like your kinda housemate 😊 Pauline!
I am a Kiwi who has just moved to Melbourne for full time employment as an Environmental Scientist. I enjoy watching any type of sport, keeping active, exploring, traveling, I am very social and enjoy a drink, love a gig, like to keep things nice and tidy but not over the top.
Hey, I'm currently looking for a longer term lease, from 22 August, or later for 6-12 months. Looking to budget up to $500 per week including utilities and internet for a 1 bedroom apartment ideally within walking distance to the city. Cheers, Gavin.
