Just moved to Canberra from Perth, looking for a place to stay while I complete my Masters in Economics at ANU. I'm a friendly, clean and respectful guy looking for a house with a good mix of social and private space. Also working as a lifeguard to pay the bills while I study.
I work full time as a technical support engineer, and will be working from Canberra which is why I'm looking for accommodation here! I am originally from Sweden (but an Aus citizen), so this will be the first time I'm permanently living in Australia. In my free time I play quite a bit of video games but I also really enjoy going out and seeing and exploring new things, which I hope I'll be doing quite a bit of! I'm looking for a place where I'll be able to stay for a longer amount of time, as I'd like to be able to live relatively steady while I have a job. I really am not too fussed about how many people I live with or what they do, as long as they don't smoke inside. I'd also be fine living with any type of pet. As I'm not actually arriving to Australia until March 5th, meeting me before to see who/what I am might be difficult. However, I am totally down to Skype or whatever is suitable beforehand so that that neither of us have to go in blind.
The Magic Chicken House is looking for some lovely souls to join it! We’re a rollicking house made of musical instruments, feathers, fruit trees, chickens (who live by their own lore hence the house nickname), blue tack and bicycle parts. THE HOUSE: - An open kitchen with dishwasher + all the kitchen furnishing you could dream of including frequent cake baking, apple juicing, Sauerkraut making, preserving, large-scale cook-ups from all different parts of the world (all of us are from different parts of the world and we do enjoy our feasts!), - Separate shower, bathroom and toilet facilities, - Big garage for storage of bicycles and pingpong tables, - That is currently also a workshop for wicked experiments - At least one Catan board at a time, - Flat roof for sunset beer // tea // gin drinking, - Open slate floor dinning area / sitting room / fantastic collection of cookbooks - Did we mention gas central heating? - And the stellar garden? WE'RE LOOKING FOR: - People who are into cheesy dance moves, - Want to live in a house which is as much as house as a community, as "home" - keen to consider communal food sharing arrangements, gardening, composting and eating radishes - have sustainable living practices (you have to love that compost) - eat those veggies (Epic Farmer's Markets is around the corner!) - into organic foods and real food in general (and cooking) - into foraging (Canberra is a great place for that), keen for hunting delicious mushrooms and growing your own food - hopefully going to bring some whacky art/cult/food/other practice into the house and make lots of mess and noise (but actually we're pretty into that, you've just got to not be too adverse to letting us join in), + LGBTQI friendly people, + Generally friendly and accepting, + (do I get to write 'feminists' here? I think I do) Feminists, + also no bigots ♥. FINANCES: - we have 2 medium-sized rooms available $275 a fortnight ; - If there's another arrangement you'd like us to consider, don't be shy, ask about it ; - There are seasonal bills (for electricity and gas) and an on going weekly internet bill (approx. 10$ a month). Get in contact, tell us about you and what makes you tick, and if it seems like there's a fit we'll arrange coffee and house viewing and all that jazz. Also feel free to ask questions. Big love, The Magic Chicken House Hope to hear from you soon.
I’m currrently working at the National Film and Sound Archive, cataloguing the Australia’s collection of Film, TV, Radio and Music. That, combined with a wealth of useless general knowledge makes me an excellent addition to any pub trivia team. Like to think I’m a reliable housemate; I pay the rent on time and do the washing up without being asked. And I mix cocktails, which I would definitely share with any future housemates. I am though, only looking for a room in the inner suburbs of Canberra as I do not own a car. And my budget is absolutely no more than $250 a week. Thanks everyone, Amy
(Moving date is flexible) Hi! I'm Liska, I'm a tidy Honours student studying Chinese translation at ANU. I'm looking for a relaxed, friendly household in the inner north. I'm language and history-obsessed, love all pets, consume music voraciously, sew patches, play video games and make really good margaritas. Starting to get into gardening. I also write fiction and build fantasy worlds for fun and pay. Would be open to cooking together! (although I'm vegetarian) Happy to work within organised cleaning/chore rosters etc I head up to Newcastle sometimes to visit my family and girlfriend. She also likes to visit me too now and then so I'm looking for somewhere where she'd be welcome to stay in my room. Let me know if your place sounds like a match!
I'm from Melbourne, have been used to living away from home for periods of time. I will be beginning full-time work in February at the Australian Building Codes Board (APS 1 yr cadetship). I am neat and tidy, non-smoker. Enjoy casual sports, travelling, reading and netflix. Looking for a room for ~ 1 year
Hi! I'm a student at ANU, about to commence my 4th year studying Engineering. I'm always down for a chat or some drinks, but also like to spend some time alone. Am into music and movies.
Hi there future flatmates! I'm Minglang, a mature ANU Linguistics student (love languages(!)). I am friendly, open-minded, respectful, the qualities which make my life nice. I love to keep my place clean and tidy, enjoy reading, writing, music, movies, and of course cooking (western or eastern, depends on my moods)~ But don't worry, no scary smokes or hassles involved so your kitchen will always remain clean. I am currently involved in an online subtitling team of translating Jordan B Peterson's lectures to Mandarin. So you know why I am keen to keep my room tidy because "I would not criticize the world before cleaning up my room ":)) I love playing badminton. And my Taekwon-Do course will begin soon(!) I am quite sociable and would love to have a chitchat with you in off time. The gender of the future flatmates really does not matter too much for me as long as you are a good and responsible person because I am...haha. Sorry but I prefer not to live with cats or kids. I don't smoke and have no pets with me. Not a party animal. Flexible with my length of stay:) Cheers
Hello, I am currently studying at both ANU and UC, and work at UC as a lab assistant. I'm pretty quiet and tidy. For fun, I usually play video games or browse the internet. I'm preferably looking for a place that has some space, as I'm moving out of student accommodation (which is tiny).
Hi, I’m Zoe. I’m a quiet, nice country girl starting a diploma of screen and media in early Feb at CMA training. I’m tidy, respectful and know how to live independently as I went to a country boarding school for six years. I like a good scotch on nights out, I love movies and playing/watching sport. Rent is guaranteed as my parents are paying for it. Looking forward to starting my life in Canberra and making close friendships with my new flat mates.
I'm going to be studying at AIE in Watson. I mostly play computer games in my spare time. I've been living in Merimbula since my parents moved there in 2012. I need a place relatively quiet place so I can work on my course.

Beautiful renovated detached house in Downer. The house has a huge living space and big yard, so lots of room for activities. there is also a huge garage for storing random things (however we are considering buying a table tennis table to spice things up). there are plenty of car spaces and parking on the street. Kitchen is fairly new and doesn't get too crowded.
Hi, I'm a research scientist who enjoys playing sports and being out in nature. I’m friendly, respectful, tidy and reliable. Please message me if you'd like to team up or if you have a room available.
Moving to Canberra in Feb 2019 to take up a new job in Government. Will be returning to Sydney each weekend, so looking for somewhere comfortable and convenient for Monday to Friday. Easygoing, self sufficient, neat and friendly.
Couple (+1) looking for a 3 bedroom place close to the city for work. Clean, respectful and responsible. We all work in various fields - I'm an artist and work retail, my partner runs a podcast and works in hospitality and our friend is a singer/filmmaker who also works full-time in retail management.
你好! Guten Tag! Hello Everyone! ;) I am an exchange student from Hong Kong, originally studying Environmental Science in Germany. I am an adventurous person who is very open-minded to new culture and people. I am a solo backpacker as well if I am not studying, and I enjoy trekking (spending time on mountains is always cool), climbing, and sports in general. My other hobbies include boardgames and experimental cooking! I am very independent and have been living with my current German flatmate for over two years. I am looking for a warm and cheerful room for myself during my 5 month stay in Canberra! Have no strong preference for neighborhoods. Hey and I am looking forward to my new experience in Canberra! Hope we could spend some time together during my limited stay! I will arrive in the city in the mid-Feb ;) Thanks!!
Hi! I am an excellent roommate, plenty of share house experience. I am very clean. Love to be social and get amongst the share house vibes BUT also love my own privacy and respect that of others. I’m an arts student at ANU and working at a cafe. I’m usually super busy but in my down time I love a bit of Netflix, but also if the weather permits, I’d much prefer to be outside. I’d love to have a chat and potentially be your new roommate! :)
