I am a master's student at the Australian National University, about to commence my study in January 2018. Born and raised in Indonesia, I consider myself friendly, organized, tidy and clean person. I enjoy nature, sports (especially basketball) and books for my free time. Love to chit-chat with my housemates and hang out especially on weekends.
Hello! I am a young professional in my late twenties. I am often described as thoughtful, playful, and tolerant by those who know me. I consider myself very tidy, clean, and respectful. I am looking to share a house/flat of mixed gender, ideally with other professionals, but students are fine too. Preferably 3-4 people (including myself). I love animals, so pets are not a problem. (That said, I do not have any pets of my own and won't be bringing or acquiring any). I love good food, outdoors, exploring new places, trying new things, exercise and lead an active lifestyle. Well maybe not as much as those who live in lycra and compete in sports... but I do enjoy the fresh air. I also enjoy being a home body, and would be happy curled up on the couch with a glass of red, playing board games with whomever is up for a chat. I am a clean and organised person, but I don't go nuts with cleaning rosters. I believe we're all capable of pitching in with the cleaning when needed and when it's not inconvenient to do so. That said, I'd prefer not to live in a pig sty. If I sound like the right flatmate to you, shoot me a message, introducing yourself and the other tenants. Thanks! P.S. I do want to be part of a home and get to know you all, not just living with flat mates, however I have a preference to do my own cooking. Happy to participate in house dinners every now and then, especially the spontaneous ones, but I don't want to be committed to three different dinners cooked by three different people each week. My cap for shared dinners is probably once a week i.e. someone different takes a turn to cook every Tuesday, rather than three different people cooking three different days in the same week. P.P.S. I cannot live without a dishwasher. They are the best thing ever invented and I will use it religiously. Criteria: - Built in Robes (with lots of hanging space and shelves). This is non-negotiable. - Room that can fit a Queen Bed, side table, lots of other boxes/things etc. this is non negotiable too. - Car port/ undercover parking with automatic doors (highly preferable, but could be overlooked if everything else was perfect) - En suite (preferable, but not a must. Happy to share a bathroom with one other, but no more). - Lots of storage space (inside the house - not a storage cage) - Dishwasher - Housemates that are not hermits - Age of household: 25-35. Ideally, I would like to live with people who are around my age, and are social. - I do not want to live with infants, young children, or a family/home stay style arrangement. - I do not want to live in Gunghalin, Dunlop, Harrison, or Crace - sorry, it’s just too far from work.
We are a young couple, one of us is a student/part time worker and the other is in the APS. We are looking to move out of our parents' houses. We tend to keep to ourselves as we work, both day and night shifts however we are social on the rare occasion our schedules line up. We would prefer somewhere with our own kitchen/kitchenette as we are vegan and nut free. We both work and go to school in the city so, we are looking for something around that area (basically not Tuggeranong or Belconnen). Thanks for reading!
Hi, I am based in Sydney right now. I got job in one of the Govt org. I am moving to Canberra in end of November and looking for shared accommodation. I am male, 28, Software Engineer. I like to make friends, watch movies, play badminton, non-smoker, no pets. Thanks, Abhi
Hello, We are Tanya and Henry! :) We are two students: Henry is doing his PhD and Tanya is studying law at ANU. Tanya has a dog, Rocky, who will be living with us. Rocky has pet references from living in an apartment this year, and the landlord has been really happy with the condition of the house and how well we’ve kept the place. His details are available on request. We have been friends for three years now and we too come with references from our previous landlords. We both have part-time jobs and parents who are able to help us with rent. We are clean and conscientious tenants and will take care of the property because living somewhere nice is important to us. Please let us know if you want to know anything more about us! Looking forward to hearing from you! Warm regards, Tanya & Henry
One room available in a four bedroom house in a quiet, leafy suburb in the inner north with quick access to Northbourne Ave. The room is warm in winter, with central heating, and catch a cool afternoon breeze in summer. It’s unfurnished, with a built in wardrobe, and large window onlooking the side garden. This room can fit a double bed, desk or bookcase and have room for a morning yoga session. We have fast VDSL internet, air con in the living room for summer and central gas heating for winter. We have plenty of kitchen storage, and internal and external storage. Amenities include a fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. The laundry is enclosed. The backyard has a carport, shed, hills hoist, and a long porch with a hammock, perfect for summer days and warm winter afternoons. There’s plenty of space for a veggie patch or a BBQ. Bills and chores are split between four; with the renovated bathroom, including bath, shared between three. We are privately renting through the landlord, and you will need to sign onto the lease. Downer is a 10 minutes walk from the shops, cafes and restaurants at Dickson, including the Dickson pool for summer. We’re next to the new Downer shops, with a cafe and yoga studio, and a large sports oval. The suburb is well serviced by public transport, and we have a parking space for cars. Civic is a 15 minute drive or 50 minute walk; taxis and Uber to Civic and the airport are under $20.
Homely three bedroom, one bathroom house in Downer with the biggest backyard you’ve ever laid eyes on. We moved in just over a year ago with a vision to create a lovely communal home after living in an apartment together and feeling awkwardly high off the ground. We are vegetarians passionate about the environment, social issues, dumplings and gin. There are plants, books, couches, cats, chats, cold brew and rad hangs to be had. Great gas heating which works a treat in the winter. Summer is another story and you may need to abandon pants and get a bedroom fan (we have house fans and every window has good blinds to keep the heat out). We share a bathroom with separate toilet; it’s beautiful blue Royal Doulton, if you were wondering. Ideally we would be looking for an all-round great housebuddy. Respectful of us, yourself, the cats, environment, communal spaces and the general atmosphere. We don’t have a strict preference for vegetarians although we are looking for people with similar mindsets. Please find below a few questions about yourself to help us understand you; Please describe yourself with three likes and three dislikes. Do you like cats? (Please indicate) 1. I fucking love cats 2. They are OK and I will slowly begin to love them 3. I’ll see myself out Why are you looking for a place to live? What do you bring to the home? (This includes furniture, skills and aspirations) How do you feel about dinner parties, guests and house parties? What is your weekly routine (e.g. do you work full time, part time and what do your evening movements consist of?)
Hi there thanks for checking my profile, I just moved to Canberra from sunny Brisbane. I am very easygoing and tidy guy. I am pretty normal and easily get along with most normal people. Lived in shared accommodation for a number of years and still in touch with most of my previous flatmates. I love to have a chat with my flatmates and the occasional drink as well as hangout once in a while. I am a software professional and I am working for a national office of a non profit org. Looking for a place to move into with friendly and responsible flatmates ideally a bit close to the city(no particular suburb). I am fairly active and and keep myself busy most evenings either going to the gym or having dinner with friends couple of nights(although I do not know many people in Canberra yet) and I love Latin dancing. I have been doing that for years and end up going to some of those events few nights a week. I try to play a few sports but but almost bad at all of them except in some rare occasions :-) (still play for fun)! When I am home I love to watch movies, I sometimes binge tv watch shows on Netflix too, cook some nights, relax and have a conversation. I might be doing some work some nights at the moment after coming home and could be working from home as well once in a while. I like an occasional drink once in a while over a conversation and I am not a party animal but like partying once in a while. I would also be away one or two weekends in a month going to Sydney to meet friends or attending dance events. So more space for you on some weekends :-) Please message me if you think I am someone who you would like to live with and have a comfortable room to share :-) We can have a chat and go from there!
Hi I'm Saskia, going into a bachelor of design at ANU and my boyfriend is Luke, going into a bachelor of international security studies. We are Sydney Residents moving to Canberra for uni early 2018 looking for an affordable place to stay. We are both fun and relaxed people hoping to acquire some great roommates!
Hey everyone!! About the house: We are looking for a third person to share a large modern house with us! We will be applying for 4+ bedroom homes - most likely renovated or near new. You will have the master bedroom with walk in robe and ensuite and potentially your own living area. The propective housemate will be paying $280-350ish, with the total cost of the house being $650-800. Rach will rent two bedrooms, one for herself and one for her home business, and Ash will take the final one. The house will be fully furnished only requiring you to bring your bedroom. If you do have furniture of your own I am sure we will be able to accomodate as most of the places we are interested in have multiple living spaces. A little about us: Rach works full time the for APS as a Senior Project Officer upgrading the infrastructure at APH and runs a small business after work and on weekends.. (yes, I do have time off work.. sometimes!) Somewhere in amungst this she also studies a never ending part time degree of Building and Construction Management at UC. As a result it is pretty rare that you will find her sitting on the couch or hanging around the house with nothing to do! Random fact: favourite band - red hot chilli peppers!! Ash also works full time for the APS as an Executive Assistant at the ACCC and keeps herself busy during the week at crossfit. Of a weekend she will usually either travel to our home town or catch up with friends. Random fact: salt and vinegar flavoured anything! In summary... We are pretty laid back, easy to get along with, mature and love to have friends around every now and then however are well and truely past our days of partying every weekend. We would be looking for someone who is happy to have a dinner and a drink together of an occasion, but is also happy to do their own thing most of the time. We have lived in share houses for a long time and expect everyone to clean up after themselves and be proactive in sharing the cleaning duties throughout the common areas. That being said, we aren't absolute clean freaks either. Our preference is for a male, mid to late twenties however definitely more than happy for females to get in touch too. Shoot us a message if you'd like any more info or to catch up to meet! Legends need only apply :)
I'm a fourth year uni student in Canberra, studying Chinese language and history. I'm tidy and pretty quiet, though I'm always up for a chat over a cup of tea. I'm looking for a tidy, friendly household (if you've got any cooking/cleaning rosters I'm keen to join). I love pets and I'd help walk dogs if you have them.
I’m a Full time student at the Canberra Institute of Technology and I also work part time in Ainslie. I’m moving out of my student accommodation in December and looking for a new place to call home 😊
Hey! We're moving to Canberra in late November/early December (flexible with dates!) and looking for a room in a sharehouse. We're two responsible, respectful housemates who are working and studying. We're not about loud parties, each of us keeps mostly to ourselves, though we're happy to socialise with housemates sometimes in the common areas. My interests are current affairs/politics, history, and horror movies. We need somewhere close to ANU or on a reasonable bus route. Neither of us has ever had difficulty paying rent or bills on time. We have a cat, she's very friendly and easy, and we're responsible pet owners. I am happy to give you references for us from previous housemates who have also lived with the cat and can attest to us being pretty easy to live with. We're clean and like living in a clean space, and would like housemates who feel the same way.
Hi! My name's Islay, and my partner's name is Jacob. We're looking for a 6 month to 12 month (or more) place that is within around 15mins drive to the city (if possible)! We're laid-back, chill people who are looking forward to a fresh living space. A little about us: We both study at ANU - I study science (biochemistry and cell/molecular biology) and Jacob studies engineering (renewable energy and theoretical physics [he's definitely the smart one!]), which is what takes up most of our time during the week. On weekends, we both work our respective jobs. We're a busy couple, but in our down time we like to cook together, take walks and watch movies (usually sci-fi). Please let us know if we sound like the kind of people you'd like to share with. We're always up for a chat :)
I've lived out of home for about 3 years, I like to keep the house tidy and tend to procrasta-clean when studying. I have quite a lot of furniture that could be used in common areas. Work part-time in Gungahlin and Fyshwick, Study B. Heritage and Conservation the rest of the time at UC. Honestly, I'll have the occasional night out but am otherwise pretty quiet or not home. I'm happy to live in a situation where we hang out sometimes, share supplies and whatever else or, complete opposite end of the scale, happy to live completely separate lives under the same roof, doesn't bother me. I also have a 1 year old Kelpie cross Boxer, who's full of energy and very smart, so I'm looking for somewhere pet friendly preferably with a yard. I'm happy to live with other dogs too as shes very well socialized and loves other dogs, I walk her every day and am happy to take any extras on the walk too. So if you're also looking for a pet friendly place or have one available please get in touch!
Hi All. I am a tech-enthusiastic, easy-going guy from Tasmania. I'm currently studying video game design, programming and small business management, and am very close to owning my own small studio in video game development. In my free time, I normally play video games, go to the cinema, or develop video games (It's my job and my passion). I'm a non-smoker, non-drinker, independent, tidy, organised, always pay on time, and enjoy genuine conversations. I'm planning to study in Watson ACT during 2018, and therefore i am looking for accommodation nearby for 1 year, starting around late January. I'd also be up for "teaming up" for accommodation. Hope to hear from prospective flatmates. :)
I'm moving to Canberra in January to begin work as a 2018 APS grad. Currently I'm finishing up my psychology degree in Newcastle, then will be travelling in Europe for a couple of months and moving down to Canberra after the new year. I start work on January 31 but happy to move in earlier and get settled into a place. Interested in meeting new people, getting to know Canberra, playing sports etc. I'm looking to a find a place within walking/cycling distance to Civic and ideally close to shops, restaurants. Prefer a place where everyone is clean and tidy, friendly, open for a chat and just generally laid back.
I am a 31yo male Engineer on the Canberra Light Rail. I try to stay fit and exercise (or just not get too fat) , but I do enjoy eating like a king on the weekends. a bit about me, I enjoy going to the gym, salsa dancing, my beloved Nissan weekend car, and hopefully get into some pilates for my ridiculously poor flexibility! On the weekends i dont mind a few frothies and a good burger with some banter. i enjoy going out and having a laugh , and i equally dont mind weekends chilling at home on the couch with a movie. As for house arrangements - I am very easy going and tidy, clean up after myself and easy to get along with. Im flexible with whoever I live with. Its not my first time doing the house share, so I know that everyone is different and theres always a solution so that everyone is happy. Wouldn't mind someone whos down for a few drinks or sharing a meal and some banter on the weekends! Cheers! Claudio
Easy going, social, shared before, studying full time. Like people, pet friendly. I'm starting a masters at ANU Jan 22 and won't be arriving in Canberra until Jan 20.
