About my pets: (it sounds like a lot, but you'll only really see the dog) 1 Dog (young bichon frise) - Micky is a small, hypoallergenic (non-shedding) dog who will probably live with me part-time. He is young (8 months), and training is ongoing, but is friendly and loveable. He is an inside dog, and will need a dog door and a small yard. He is attending puppy school. He would probably love another dog for company, but I would have to see how he gets on with other pets before committing to a place. I have no idea how he would get on with a cat. 2 guinea pigs - Titian and Smudge are male guinea pigs. They live exclusively outdoors. They will need a semi-sheltered section of yard for their hutch. Beyond that, you won't notice they exist unless you choose to interact with them (in which case, they are quite cuddly). 3 cockatiels - I have three cockatiels that live in a movable cage. They are used to living indoors, but could be relocated to a sheltered outdoor area (such as a covered verandah). Cockatiels can be quite noisy. Again, you would not have to have any interaction with them unless you chose to. I'm looking for: A room, granny flat or studio in a place with a yard and a small dog door. I have a car, a motorbike and a pushbike. I'm happy for my car to be parked on-street, but would prefer my motorbike and pushbike to be out of sight of the road. I'm looking for laid-back housemates who are happy to hang-out occasionally and have a chat, but are also happy to do their own thing. We're currently trying to apply to 8 different three bedroom homes in the areas listed in "Preferred Locations" (Belconnen, Latham, Wright, Scullin, Mawson). These homes range from 490$ to 600$ and are all within a 18 minute drive to the city (some even less than 10 minutes) and all are near to a bus stop. I have a budget of 200$ max including bills and Jimmy has a maximum of 275$ including bills. With that being said, whichever home we get we would split the pay by size of room. All the homes we are looking at have a master bedroom and en suite, which will be Jimmy's, while you and I would share a bathroom. All these houses do not have furniture, other than basic appliances so we would need to build this nest together. If you have your own furniture that'd be great too! It is getting more and more difficult to find a place in Canberra so we are really desperate! Because of the urgency of the situation we are looking for someone who has all the documents ready to rent a place. This includes proof of income as well as proof of identity and references among other things. If you are relying on Centrelink payments you would also need a guarantor (aka mum or dad). It is a nice and spacious house, close to Belconnen Mall, Belco Markets, Jamison Shops, and the Uni of Canberra. The house has 2 cooking stoves areas, 1 gas, and 1 electric. The house has central heating and also ducted cooling, so in hot weather, the house stays nice and cool. The bedroom for rent is small with limited wardrobe space, however this is about to change. The number 40 bus is the nearest one to get to ANU, although the walk to Belco Mall is 20 mins for more buses. We like the house to be kept clean, so a roster is set up for cleaning.
