My housemate is unfortunately off to travel the world, which means I have a spare room. For $250 a week, you’ll get a large bedroom with a built-in wardrobe and your own bathroom (incl. bath). The apartment is light and spacious, with a large open plan kitchen/living/dining room and a sunny outdoor dining/BBQ area. Ducted heating throughout. Common areas are fully furnished, including all kitchenware. The apartment is just a couple of blocks from the Kingston shops and a few blocks from the foreshore. For those with a car, neighbouring streets offer unrestricted parking. Enquire within, or feel free to share with any friends you think may be interested. Available from July 30.
I'm east to get along with and have a lot of different interests. Love playing sport, going for trail walks, morning coffees, good chats & learning about different things. Although I'm a crap cook I'm trying to get better, and have to admit I'm pretty bummed about the lack of surfing opportunities in Canberra, but aiming to make up for it with the odd weekend trip to Perisha! I work in R&D management and have to relocate to Canberra from Perth for a new job. Ideally looking for a 2 x 2 to share, but feel free to msg me if you're interested in a bigger share place. Cheers!
Hey there, I am Can Metan. I'll start my PhD in Computer Science very soon and I'm looking for a place to call home. I am a happy, squeaky clean and a trust-worthy guy. I quite enjoy cooking healthy meals and quite sociable in general. While we can share a glass of wine every now and then, I don't drink every week and I certainly don't smoke. I will be working a lot this year (likely to get a job besides PhD) and I would love to have a roomie that can pull his / her own weight. Looking forward to hear from you! PS: I love both dogs and cats (although I'm allergic to cats) and I would strongly prefer a smoke-free house.
I am moving to Canberra for a role in the public service. I already own enough house essentials (fridge, washing machine, lounge etc) to set up a home, I just need housemate/s to help pay the rent. I am only looking for housemates for a team up so we can rent a house together. I have lived in share houses for the last 15 years. I like a housemate/s who enjoy the community of a house and are willing to share meals and explore Canberra together. I am looking for housemates with secure employment and preferably somewhat near my age. I like board games, computer games, binge watching TV shows (Netflix etc), but also like to ride mountain bikes. I shall be in Canberra from the 10th of July and hope to move into a house in the next 3 weeks. I am happy to talk over email before then, and meet in person once I arrive in Canberra. I don't smoke or do drugs, and am happy to drink on occasions. I identify as LGBTI (m2f transgender). The suburbs I have listed are more of a suggestion, and am willing to consider other suburbs.
Your new home could be a light-filled third-floor Kingston foreshore apartment overlooking Kingston Harbour and a short walk to the Bus Depot Markets and Kingston Shopping precinct. The airconditioned apartment has almost everything you need - queen-size bed in a carpeted bedroom with built-in robes, your own bathroom, use of a washing machine/dryer, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, TV, stereo, coffee machine, dining suite, etc. All new furnishings throughout. The full-width folding glass wall on the lounge area opens all the way onto the balcony - great for entertaining. For a walk-through, see https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=4qZ6j1UEvL7 (note: different furnishings - I moved in a few months ago). The complex also has its own theatrette & roof-top BBQ/entertainment area, plus there's lots of eateries just outside.
Hi all, My housemate has recently purchased a place and has had to move out. His room will be available for rent in a two bedroom, one bathroom apartment located in Kingston. You will be sharing with an 27 year old male public servant. The room is medium sized with inbuilt wardrobes. The home already has all the living/furniture essentials. The rent will be $175 per week. Electricity and internet will be split equally. The apartment is located just down the road from the Kingston shops and is only a 10 minute walk to Manuka. Unfortunately there is no car space available with the room, however there is plenty of free on street parking available. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or to arrange a time to check the place out. The room will be available from 23 July. Cheers, Jayden
I am wanting somewhere to stay that is a self contained, one bedroomed unit or granny flat where I will stay ( mainly Sunday to Thursday) each week. Sometimes my husband will join me. We live in Wagga; I am a professional person, quiet and live in a spotless home in Wagga (our own) so would want a bright and cheerful place with light and off street parking if that was possible. I'll be working in Deakin, ACT.
Hey, I am a 25-year-old male from Wollongong, looking for a place to live down in Canberra as I have just gotten a job in the public service. I am clean and tidy, and my curry and pulled pork skills are pretty damn fantastic. Huge fan of cricket, rugby, live music, movies, trivia, and doing absolutely nothing. I am looking for a share house (apartment/flat/treehouse) somewhere close to the city with people who are keen on having a chat, watching things, or just passing one another in the hallway with a tired hello. Love all (well most) people no matter what background, lifestyle, or sports team you follow. Please feel free to give me a message if you think you have a room that I would be keen on. Cheers.
Chill, professional, open-minded guy seeking a relaxed and fun person/bunch to live with (ideally a gender-balanced house). I usually work on foreign aid projects in warm, exotic places, but will be spending the next 18 months working in Canberra. I tend to be active and love being in the ocean or tearing down a track on my mountain bike. Not into partying much anymore (although I can be coaxed into a night out) but do enjoy a social night in with a few drinks and a good movie, or a good book. Often found trying to cook gourmet dishes, sometimes even known to strum a guitar (poorly). The thought of a Canberra winter terrifies me and I don't really know anyone there yet, so I'll most likely spend my time defrosting in front of the heater until the warmer months roll around :) Some fun facts about me: - Once caught a pig in a swimming race (I won) - Almost tumbled into a lava pit during a holiday - Favourite movies include Dr Strangelove, Casablanca, The Truman Show and Blade Runner - Travelled to about 30 countries, lived in 8 Oh, and I'm open to other suburbs and also higher weekly rents if it's all good.
We've got a room available in Kingston from 11 August. It's $225 a week excluding internet and electricity. You'll have your own room (obviously) and sharing a bathroom with one other. These are the real estate photos, so please note our furnishings may not be to interior designer standards. Shoot me a message if you're interested :)
Hi, I've just moved to Canberra for work and am looking for somewhere to share. I'm tidy, sociable and very understanding of personal space. Please send me a message if you'd like to know more!
The apartment is super close to the Kingston shops, so you have all the convenience of cafes and gyms and transport very close by. There are lots of busses connecting the area to Civic and the South. The apartment is on the top floor so it gets decent sun on the balconies on both sides through Summer and Winter, and the main living areas are well lit by natural light. It's also far away enough from main roads that there isn't much noise at night time. My housemate that is moving will be taking most of the furniture, and I'm open to either buying new stuff or letting a potential room-mate put theirs in instead.
Spacious unfurnished bedroom with a leafy outlook and built-in robe. Shared spacious bathroom with 1 (sometimes 2) other people. Separate toilet. The rest of the house is furnished and the kitchen is fully stocked with anything you may need. I'm looking for someone friendly and outgoing who wants to be part of a nice household where we hang out occasionally and generally get along well. Rent includes internet and fortnightly cleaner. If you're interested please get in touch asap as I'll be interviewing this weekend. Please excuse the photo of the bedroom - it's currently a packing zone!
My name is Mike, I'm originally from Toronto, Canada. I've been living in Australia for 4 years and received my Juris Doctor from UC - I graduated at the end of last year. I'm currently working in Kingston and would love to find a place close by. I'm easy going, mostly keep to myself, but don't mind a chat, tidy, respectful, reliable. Just an all round decent guy really haha kidding...but seriously.
Hi :) im 21 years old working full time as a flight attendant out of canberra. Im looking for a place to live perferalbly close to the airport. Im easy going, quiet, clean and friendly gal. Id like to move in with roomies who arent scared to have a chat and have a wine or two but still respect privacy. Im fairly new to canberra so it would be good to make some mates aswell.
I am an Indian girl, looking for a place to live near ANU as I'll be starting a postgraduate course there in July. I am easy-going, studious, helpful, and neat and clean! I love reading and watching TV shows/films. I also don't cook much!
I'm a friendly, mature and responsible woman looking for one or more housemates. I don't actually have a place to rent out/share with others at this point - I'm just putting my feelers out to find potential housemates. I would like the company of a friendly housemate, but I'm not in a rush to move. I would rather wait and find the right person (or people). Planning to stay in Canberra for 12-18 months, then move to Melbourne. I would prefer to pay between $150-200 per week, and live in an inner south or inner north suburb (e.g. Kingston, Yarralumla, Griffith, Lyneham, O'Connor). I'm very accepting and non-judgemental, as well as being queer/trans friendly. I'm fairly quiet and often keep to myself, but enjoy chatting with housemates from time to time. I have a partner who visits once a fortnight, but never sleeps over. I don't drink alcohol, smoke or party, so I would prefer to live with people who are similar in lifestyle to me. I want to live with people who have good communication skills, and can raise problems directly and honestly. I'm also fostering a cat for the next few months, and would prefer somewhere pet friendly. P.S. I'm not a vegetarian, and I do eat meat fairly regularly - just thought I'd mention this in case it's a dealbreaker for some people!
Heya peeps! Thanks for swinging pat my profile and considering me to be your room mate! I am a young but mature 21 year old male who entered the work force early. Now even though I am a Sydney boy, I have recently been promoted to a full time Sales Consultant Postition down in Canberra. And now I'm left scrabbling around for last minute accomodation. I am looking for something long term with awesome, down to earth, and sociable room mates. My hobbies are anything that occupies my time and I'm really not much of a static person but rather more of a hard worker or someone who always involves themselves in charitable work, and giving back to the community sort of thing. So if I'm the room mate that you're looking for, give me a yell!
Hey, I am a student completing my hospitality internship at The Hotel Kurrajong. Therefore, would be working part time. I am very easy going and adjustable and usually get along just fine. I like to socialize but at the same time respect your individual space. Really love to cook and play sports (cricket, football). Would preferably look for an accommodation near the city center as I do not have a vehicle or near a public transport stop for easy access. Cheers, Arvind
