Hi all, I'm looking for a room in a house in Sydney where I can stay for at least 6 months. I'm from Melbourne, and have been living in Sydney for a few months now, but my work contracts up until now have been very short and its been difficult to plan for the future. Now my contract goes until the end of February 2020, so I'm keen to find somewhere I can move in some more stuff so it can feel a bit more home-y. If your room already has a bed and a small amount of furniture though, that would definitely be a plus. I work full-time at the National Archives of Australia's Sydney branch working with their audio-visual data. I really enjoy it most of the time; I think I find working with data more interesting than most others would haha. But I'm also a big creative; I studied musical theatre for 3 years, and have a cabaret to my name that I'm planning to bring to a festival in Sydney next year. As for where I'm looking to move to, I either want to stay close to the city on the T3 line so I can commute via train (around Marrickville, Earlwood, Campsie, Canterbury) OR very close to work to so I can either walk or catch the M91 bus there (Parramatta, Chester Hill, Granville, Sefton, Yagoona). My budget is a little bit malleable, but the cheaper the better. I usually keep to myself at home but I enjoy a good chat with the people I live with. Burwood station and Burwood plaza are only 4mins by bus (2 stops) and Westfield 6mins (4 stops). There are 5 different buses which go to the station so it's every 5-10 mins pretty much. Burwood station to central takes only about 15 mins by train. On the same road, there's a line of restaurants which are about a 10min walk or 1 bus stop away. The room has a mattress and a built-in wardrobe and can provide a side table as well! The move-in date is flexible from now until September 20 but confirmation is required by 6th September. The duration of stay is also flexible if needed for more than 6 months. Also, the nearest bus stand is royal sheaf hotel, burwood road which takes about 2 mins to reach by walk. Not sure why they aren't showing that below as well. There's a tv with Netflix, Prime Video, ps4 and a couple of games which you're free to use!. There's a quiet pub right down which is open until 2-4am on most days. There's ac for summer and heater for winter. There's a washing machine and a built-in dryer as well. And I barely cook so the kitchen's mostly yours!
