We are a young couple from Newcastle and we are moving to Canberra for work at very short notice. We urgently require short-term accommodation until we can get settled in and find our own place. We would like to move in preferably no later than the beginning of June. Our preferred length of stay is around 2-3 months but we can be flexible with this. Elliott (22 y.o.) - Public servant and Clark Kent look-alike; currently working as a research assistant and finishing the last semester of a commerce degree via distance. Michelle (27 y.o.) - Recently completed a B.A. in politics and international relations; moving to Canberra to work and study at ANU. • We are mature, respectful, and clean up after ourselves. • We're sociable and easy to get along with, but we also appreciate having our own space. • We'll be working full-time hours Monday-Friday and studying during nights/weekends, so we're looking for housemates who are quiet and considerate, especially during the evening. (We don't mind sharing with other students as long as it's not a noisy 'party house' type environment). • We're not adverse to hanging out occasionally — it would be nice to know some locals who can show us around the city and recommend things to see/do in Canberra :) • Hoping to find a room that's already furnished because we'll need time to acquire our own furniture. All of our sheets, quilts etc. are queen size (and Elliott is also quite tall so anything smaller than a queen bed will probably be uncomfortable for him). • Elliott will need a parking space for his car. (I plan to bring my own car down from Newcastle in the near future, too). • I'll be relying on public transport for at least a few weeks, so accommodation located reasonably close to public transport would be preferable. • We would prefer to have our own bathroom/ensuite (if possible) but we're not in a position to be too fussy. • Decent internet/Wi-Fi and heating/cooling is essential.
I am quite sociable and easy to get along with, also love my sports and am currently doing undergraduate studies (International Relations) at ANU. Ideally (but not a priority) somewhere near ANU or in the Civic area would be awesome!
I am looking for a place closer to work (ABS, Belconnen). I am a pretty relaxed house mate who enjoys board games and good food (did someone say cheese...) I am looking for self sufficient friendly housemates who might like to share an occasional dinner/ drink/ movie. I would be looking to move around mid June. If this sounds like it would suit let me know. Cheers, Jethro
I'm doing an internship at the Australian National University from 17th May to 19th July 2018, thus require a decent accomodation. I'm a humble and an easy going individual who minds his own work, but loves to socialize with people! I don't have any specifc requirements, just a decent to live for 2 months will do good. Waiting to hear from you. Thanks, Yash Shukla
I am a youthful 55yrs post-surgery Transgender person who is very easy going. I'm currently at University of Canberra studying Bch Of Public Health. I am mostly seeking to start a new share property, so anyone willing to move into 'fresh' accommodation with me would be ideal! Just 2-3 people including me would be preferable. You would need to be willing to sign-up to a joint lease with all tenants. I can basically furnish a large home if necessary. However I don't have a dining suite or a lounge suite. * Kitchen = very large twin door fridge, microwave and just about every cooking item you could want! * Living = large timber pieces including wall units, bookcase, hallway table and entertainment unit (for television, etc). * Laundry = front loading washing machine, ironing board, etc. * Outside = lawn mower, whipper snipper, water hose, etc. The selfish bit! I have a seven piece bedroom suite, so i'd be requiring the largest bedroom in a property. I also have a study desk in my bedroom where i'm currently living. (I've kinda got used to this set-up!) I have an existing NBN Internet contract with unlimited data and a 100mb speed connection. It also includes the Optus 'Fetch' TV with 6 channels and access to netflix, etc. If I/we can source a new property in an existing NBN suburb, I can transfer the service to that location. (I know many suburbs to the West of Belconnen are being wired-up for NBN soon.) Although I can wait until June 30, I am hoping to find a new place to live anytime from late May onwards. My share of any rent would be $185 per week maximum (I am a Uni student after all.) I'd prefer a property that is in very good condition and located on the North side of Canberra - ideally within reasonable travel distance to the University of Canberra. But i'm flexible for the 'right' property. I think of home as a relaxing place to escape the 'noise' of our busy and stressful lives. So anyone who wants to live in a comfortable, quiet home environment, i'd like to hear from you! Having said that, friends dropping by is a good thing! I like to cook a dinner for my friends every so often and i'd be more than happy for my housemates to join in. If baking muffins in the kitchen whilst sipping a hot chocolate on a Winter's Sunday morning appeals to you, we'd be perfect housemates! That's it !!! Hit me up if you're interested in joining forces to find a new home!
Looking to join an existing share place - or start a new one! About me : Fully employed, financially independent. Well travelled & a bunch of life experience. I'm an experienced house-sharer, considerate of others, clean, respectful, social / independent. Creative and inquisitive soul... If i'm not at home pondering the origins of the universe, i'm travelling, at work, going on hikes, photography, nature, reading, seeing live music, catching up with friends, music festivals, or wherever the day takes me. Home Life : I enjoy social time when living with others but also value my own space. I like to keep things fairly clean, but i'm not a clean freak. Iideally : i'd be sharing with some awesome, creative type people, who enjoy a meal / get together, but who also respect each others space. The usual really. If you think we'd be a good fit get in touch! Anthony.
Hey future roomie! As you'd probably already established, I'm Georga, I am 25 years young (old) and am currently living in Franklin I moved to Canberra a little over a year ago and absolutely adore it here. I work in construction full time, and do 1, maybe 2 waitressing shifts a week at the Dickson Tradies. I quite like a drink, or 10 and love nothing more than cutting loose on weekends (I start work super early during the week so no late nights for this Grandma) I am a very social person and would love nothing more than entertaining friends on the weekends with BBQ's and wines. Not fussed on the area, anywhere North side. I come with bedroom furniture a BBQ and an outdoor lounge setting. Ideally looking for a room with ensuite, but that’s not a deal breaker. Parking is a must though. About you: I would love to live in a sociable, friendly and generally happy happy household. X
Hey, I have been living in sharehouses for 4 years so I know the drill. I am tidy, and mostly keep to myself but am always up for a chat/drink. My sister Sarah has been living out of home for about a year and is extremely mature and sensible for her age (17). She's a cool kid who also mostly keeps to herself, does art and is enrolled in a beautician school. we look forward to hearing from you!
Hi, I'm Toni! I am moving back to Canberra within the next week and am looking for a place to stay. I am flexible with short-term or long-term stays, preferably a furnished room. I am currently working in hospitality and very laid back. When I am not at work, chances are you'll find me watching/playing sport, hanging out with some friends, going for bush walks or going for a swim. I am tidy, know how to pull my weight in the house, am sociable but respect the privacy of others.
Recently moved to Canberra to work in the public service. Finishing my degree by distance. Need short term accommodation, preferably around the 2 to 3 month range. Clean and tidy; like to keep my space squared away. Prefer my own space but not adverse to hanging out. New to Canberra, so unfamiliar with the area, wouldn't mind a guide to the city and surrounding areas.
Just back from overseas travel and ready to find a place to live now I have 'found myself'. (Not actually a hippy cliche but do have an extensive collection of indoor plants) Journalism student working in student admin. Experienced share-houser looking for somewhere relaxed and friendly but also generally tidy (like the trash actually gets taken out) Happy to live with anyone up to mid 30s, only serious requirement is that I can get at the TV when the Swans are playing. Also considering short term rentals while I search for a comfy home.
Hi I'm Greg, I lived in Canberra on and off for the past 10 years. I finished my Bachelor's and Master's at UC and ANU. I've recently been working in Sydney as a technology recruiter but am looking to move back to Canberra and continue my programming studies (Python) while working. Before all this I played professional volleyball for Aus and overseas. Very easy going person. Super clean.
I am great to live with because... I, as I would describe myself; am pretty chilled, friendly and easy-going. I keep to myself, yet don't mind being social. I have a full-time job in the APS and in addition to being employed I am also honest and reliable which means that there wouldn't ever be any issues with rent/bills being paid on time. I would also make a great housemate because I don't shy away from practical/hands on jobs and enjoy a little bit of DIY. I am pretty handy when it comes to assembling IKEA furniture or any other items that may require assembly for that matter ;) I have a pet that I would like to have move with me. His name is Leroy and he is a Diamond Python. He lives in a fully enclosed glass tank and would live in my room (hoping the space would allow for his tank) - you wouldn't even know he was there...
My name is Esha and I work for Optus located in Moore street. After getting a transfer from Sydney Optus I have relocated to Canberra. I am an easy going person and can get along with any character. I love to make friends and also respect privacy at the same time . I enjoy spending time with my room mates and chat over dinner , sometimes even cook dinner if my friends are into bengali/indian food. As far as cleanliness is concerned I like to keep my space neat and clean . So if you think we can get along then shoot me a message !
We are both very clean, tidy, quiet and mature people (we are a young married couple) who have rented multiple properties on our own in NSW, but wanting to relocate interstate. We will not be home all too often except for late afternoon/night time as we will be working and applying for a house/apartment of our own during our stay. We’re easy going and respectful, we enjoy down time and are more than happy to help around the house (generally won’t have to ask us to do anything as we take initiative) and treat it as if it were our very own.
Hi, I'm Lily, soon-to-be PhD student at ANU. I'm quiet and clean, like to share a meal or drinks but sometimes don't come home much because I get wrapped up in what I'm doing at university. On the weekends I like walking around and up mountains.
Hi My name is Esther, I’m moving to Canberra on the 25th of June . I’m looking for accomodation in a share house , I’m also happy to team up with one other person to find a new home. I’ll be studying full time at UC and I’ll be working part time. I spend a lot of time between work school and church. I’m very introverted and like to spend lots of time to myself but I don’t the occasional meal, chat or just being social. I like a clean and tidy house but I’m not very neurotic about it. Looking for an easy going and laid back (female housemate)
