I am a youthful 55yrs post-surgery Transgender person who is very easy going. I'm currently at University of Canberra studying Bch Of Public Health. I am mostly seeking to start a new share property, but an existing sharehouse with space is good too! Anyone willing to move into 'fresh' accommodation and start a new sharehouse with me would be ideal! Just 2-3 people including me would be preferable. You would need to be willing to sign-up to a joint lease with all tenants. I can basically furnish a large home if necessary. However I don't have a dining suite or a lounge suite. * Kitchen = very large twin door fridge, microwave and just about every cooking item you could want! * Living = large timber pieces including wall units, bookcase, hallway table and entertainment unit (for television, etc). * Laundry = front loading washing machine, ironing board, etc. * Outside = lawn mower, whipper snipper, water hose, etc. The selfish bit! I have a seven piece bedroom suite, so i'd be requiring the largest bedroom in a property. I also have a study desk in my bedroom where i'm currently living. (I've kinda got used to this set-up!) I have an existing NBN Internet contract with unlimited data and a 100mb speed connection. It also includes the Optus 'Fetch' TV with 6 channels and access to netflix, etc. If I/we can source a new property in an existing NBN suburb, I can transfer the service to that location. I am available to move-in to a new property almost immediately - within a week for example. My share of any rent would be $220 per week maximum (I am a Uni student after all.) I'd prefer a property that is in very good condition and located on the North side of Canberra - ideally within reasonable travel distance to the University of Canberra. But i'm flexible for the 'right' property. I think of home as a relaxing place to escape the 'noise' of our busy and stressful lives. So anyone who wants to live in a comfortable, quiet home environment, i'd like to hear from you! Having said that, friends dropping by is a good thing! I like to cook a dinner for my friends every so often and i'd be more than happy for my housemates to join in. If baking muffins in the kitchen whilst sipping a hot chocolate on a Winter's Sunday morning appeals to you, we'd be perfect housemates! That's it !!! Hit me up if you're interested in joining forces to find a new home! Or you have a sharehome that may be suitable.
I am a 23-year-old physiotherapist. I am going to attend the University of Canberra in July. I am mostly a fun loving person but I love my private space too. I am an Indian so I will prefer my flatmate to be from some other country so that we can share the cultural qualities.
Hello everyone! Looking for a place to stay to rent for 6 months to a year. I'm sociable, open-minded, friendly (can get along with most people), but also respects privacy very much. I am an individual who is clean and tidy. I'm also an outgoing person but on occassion I like to have time to myself (balanced lifestyle is important for me!). I'm looking for people with these similar traits, so we can actually get along in the property we reside. Cheers, Reno Cotan
Hi people, my name is Jess and I'm a pharmacist looking for a room to rent in Canberra for 6 months - I'll be working in Woden so somewhere nearby or with easy bus access would be ideal. I am originally from country NSW and have worked in a number of places in Australia including Alice Springs and stunning Jervis Bay. I have house shared with people of varying ages and backgrounds and enjoy meeting new people. I am easy going and tidy and enjoy exploring outdoors, playing sport and taking every opportunity to adventure. I'll be starting work 23 July so happy to move in that weekend (21-22) or two weeks earlier if preferred (6-7 July)
I’m looking for a room/teamup starting any time from July (although this is somewhat flexible). Looking to move into somewhere for the longer term if it’s the right fit. A bit about me: I enjoy travelling, architecture, keeping fit, doggos. Minor Chinese reality TV personality in a past life. Pretty easy going sort of guy at home, do most of my socialising outside the house but happy to do stuff with housemates too. Have some pretty nice furniture to contribute as well! I’ve lived in multiple sharehouses through uni and am now looking to save some money (currently paying $390/week). I’m a full time public servant and have never missed any sort of rent payment. I’m clean but not super pedantic about it - happy to adjust to suit others’ preferences/go on to rosters etc. Message me if it sounds like we’d be a good fit!
Looking to join a existing sharehouse or team up and start a new one... About me : Fully employed, financially independent. Work usual 9-5 in retail. Creative soul, musically inclined. I'm an experienced house-sharer, considerate of others, clean, respectful, social / independent. Looking for a large room to fit queen sized bed, shelving and desk, or a seperate area / room / study for desk. Enjoy travelling, going on walks / hikes, photography, nature, reading, netflix, ABC/ SBS / seeing live music, catching up with friends, impro, music festivals, or wherever the day takes me. Home Life : I enjoy social time when living with others but also value my own space. I like to keep things fairly clean, but i'm not a clean freak. Ideally : i'd be sharing with some awesome, creative artistic type people, who enjoy a meal / get together, but who also respect each others space. A catchup after work. A drink now and then. The usual really. Most of my friends are aged in their 30s or 40s, but i get along with everyone. Have a small bunch of furniture - queen sized bed, couch, fridge, microwave, desks, 46" TV, stereo, bookshelves, etc... can be used or put into storage / sold. If you think we'd be a good fit get in touch! Anthony.
Updated 14 June 2018: I would describe myself as a person who is thoughtful, calm and kind. I am tolerant of others. It is important to me to resolve issues, and to clarify things before they become problematic - key in any shared living arrangement. A clean house is important to me (I have asthma) and I am naturally neat and tidy. I am perceived as being extremely quiet, but I have always been one to tiptoe before I tap dance, so my approach to new people and situations tends to be cautious. Besides, in my line of work I get to channel my inner four year old on a regular basis! I am happy to be social or to entertain myself (a classic ambivert). I am a longtime Canberran, and came here from England with my family as a small child. My original training was in the biological sciences, and I later pursued counselling. My current work and volunteer work is with children and families. For fun? Friends and family, films, animals, crochet and craft, learning to swim and getting fit after illness. I love cooking and baking and gardening, and being by the sea. I am looking forward to seeing what will unfold, and to making new friends. I am hoping to live with people who would enjoy some shared interaction, such as cooking meals, eating together and having a chat. I have a Working With Vulnerable People Card and a police check available for perusal. Thank you for considering my listing, Susan
Hi, I’m CJ and I’m from Indonesia. I’m an accountant from Sydney and recently moved to Canberra for further studies. I’m a very tidy and easygoing guy who’s keen to help out around the house. I am responsible tenant and looking for long-term housing in a quiet and friendly neighbourhood. My rental budget is $200 max per week. Have been renting for over the last 8 years, have seen and experienced all kinds of things, been a housemate, landlord, caretaker myself. I respect all cultures and values. In my spare time I enjoy playing a guitar, going out with friends and socializing. If you have something for me, hit me up :)
I am a student starting a masters degree at UC in July 2018 looking for a quiet and relaxed place to stay at for six months to one year or more. I’m currently based in Brisbane moving to Canberra late July. I’m very friendly, clean and tidy person and respect others. Hoping to hear from anyone.
I am 27 years old and I will be starting a PhD at UNSW Canberra this July. Born and raised in India, I have had some experience travelling and living in foreign countries, but I will be in Australia for the very first time. I am very excited about moving to Australia for my higher studies. What would make me a good tenant to have and an easy person to live with? I am hardworking, kind, polite, and agreeable. Additionally, I am a literature student, a strict adherent of the dictum 'cleanliness is godliness', a yoga-enthusiast, non-smoker, non-allergic to animals, and greatly appreciative of foreign cultures.
My wife and I are looking for a small studio with own bathroom and separate entry for the period of 8 August to 23 December 2018. We are visiting PhD students at the ANU. We will be in the university most of the times and it is not important the unit being more comfortable.
My names Chris :) I have been in Canberra since late November FIFO working for Qantas and have just signed over as a full time local, love living in Canberra just can't wait for summer already haha :) I'm very easy going, love talking and getting to know people but also enjoy my alone time to recharge. A good afternoon for me is coming home after work and having a glass of wine or anything tasty and a chat about what ever is on peoples minds. I work Monday-Friday 0700-1730 and most Saturdays 0700-1400. Love my time off, can either relax at home or go out for lunch, will never say no to going out for drinks or coffee :) I'm pretty much a political neutral...I see things from both sides and enjoy hearing peoples opinions and ideas, feel like i have to say that as we're in Canberra and people seem to love talking about politics. I've traveled most of my life so have heaps of stories if you want to hear them. Love other peoples stories even more :) I can cook alright but don't claim to be a chef, like to experiment though and see what i can come up with :) If accepted i would be good to move in on Monday the 2nd of July. Hope to hear from you and see if i can fit in, if not i i hope you find the perfect fit :) If you like I can provide character references Oh and i love dogs of course! Dogs rule! Hope to find a great place to stay :)
I am in my final year of my undergraduate degree at ANU. I work two part time jobs, one in admin and one in retail. I live to play sport and spend as much time outside as a can. I'm a clean person, and I enjoy cleaning, but other peoples' mess doesn't usually bother me too much. I don't drink much, but am always happy to share a meal and a glass of wine with my housemates! I'm politically active, but will never tell you what I think unless you ask.
I’m a fulltime law/science student at ANU just coming back from an exchange in Scotland, and a bit of a holiday round Europe. I’m tidy, polite, like a bit of socialising but enjoy keeping to myself too.
Hello! I'm Amy. I'm an Occupational Therapist from Newcastle, NSW. I'm moving to Canberra to work full time. In my free time, I like to explore new places and catch up with friends. I am easygoing and enjoy catching up over dinner or drinks, but also appreciate other's space. Please feel free to message me if you're looking for another flatmate. I am also interested in team ups as well. Thanks :)
Hi there! I’m Ben, a 32 year old retail manager. I come with a wide array of appliances & furniture (fridge, washer, TV, couch etc), plus a small cat who will definitely like you more than she lets on. I like to cook in my spare time, as well as a bit of TV watching. I like to keep tidy, enjoy having a chat after work and respect the need for personal space. I’m looking to move in ASAP.
Hi there, I'm Meghana, 21 yo! I'd be joining the ANU for a Masters Program in Finance this July. I am currently a working professional with one of the Big 4s. So my priorities and schedule are in place for next 10m to a year, at least, considering my current regime. lol But otherwise, I am a very extroverted-cheerful person and a vegetarian. And no, I've no issues if my roommate is otherwise. Food is one's own choice. So no comments. I can almost talk about every topic under the sun. I share a great passion for badminton and swimming. If we get a chance, may be we can go for a rally or two. It'd be fun. I have a great taste and passion for music. It's a plus if you do too.. :D Most importantly, I'd be a full time student and working part time. I've no other habits like drinking or smoking. I maintain quite decent timings- I do not plan on having late-night hangouts, with that being a given, during the day, I'm the most outdoorsy person. We could sometime plan for an outing or two together! In case you study the same subject as mine, me being a flatmate is a bonus for you. I am pretty good with the subject and people say I am great at simplifying concepts :D Please reach out in case you have suitable option open for me. Cheers, Meghana
I'm pretty chilled and easy to get along with. Originally from Newcastle NSW but I have accepted to study at the University of Canberra to start 2018 semester 2. I'm looking to make the move down to Canberra asap so i can settle into a new place before starting my studies. I would be happy in any suburb as i have a car and don't mind using it. Also keen for teamups or whatever they call it. A bit more about me, I have recently come back from living in Canada for two years and have become a keen snowboarder. When there's no snow i usually like to spend my time outdoors hiking, or kayaking. I have lived in a share house with more than 40 people using the one kitchen before, so i know the importance of being CLEAN and respectful of other peoples space. I enjoy a few casual drinks here and there just as much as i enjoy my quiet time watching Netflix or studying.
I work full time and normally keep pretty busy during the week so I tend to just chill out when I get home. On the weekends I love to get outdoors and have a beer. My main hobbies include snowboarding, mountain biking, gym and yoga. I don't have much in terms of furniture so a furnished room would be ideal, but not essential, and a lock up garage or somewhere to store push bikes and a few work related things would be awesome! I'm new to Canberra and not set on any particular area, i'd just love to find a place to share with other young people with similar interests. If you think i'd be a good fit in your place then hit me up :)
25 year-old recent graduate working fulltime. Looking for a place for myself and my very friendly indoor cat Cairo, preferably within the inner-north or Belconnen areas. I like to get out of the house on weekends and keep pretty quiet during the week. I like living with housemates that want to get to know each other, but am conscious of the need for downtime. Always on time with bills/rent etc.
