Grew up in the states and Singapore but been living in Melbourne for about 10 years. I work as an Industrial Designer - this keeps me pretty busy often, but in my downtime I love going to gigs around town (the Tote might as well be my second home :D) and I often spend a lot of time making things and tinkering (usually at a workshop near work). I enjoy cooking and run frequently to stay fit and active. I prefer to keep things clean and tidy, and tend to keep to myself a bit, but certainly don't mind socialising over good drinks and food.
Hi. I'm Gavin, a 30 year old professional from Dublin, Ireland, coming to work at University of Melbourne as a researcher for 5 months on a fellowship from the university back home where I work. I'll be arriving to Melbourne July 2nd and stay until November 30th, and I'm ideally hoping to find (a) great housemate(s) to share with before I arrive. I've previously lived and worked in the UK (Cambridge and London) and also both in France and Switzerland, so I am really looking forward to the venture in Melbourne. As a housemate I'm approachable, considerate, and tidy, and right now I share with a similarly aged professional guy in the apartment I own in Dublin city centre. Good food/ cooking - especially good coffee and wine - fitness, travel, and being sociable at the weekends especially as my weekdays are pretty busy, are all things I really enjoy.
Hiiiii, I am Bec I’ve just moved to Melbourne from Brisbane so looking for a place with good homely feels. I work full time (corporate sell out) so would prefer a quieter place during the week but enjoy drinks, exploring new places, live music, seeing friends for food and visiting galleries on the weekends. I’d like a social house where Tuesday wines and Sunday coffee can be a thing. I also prefer the older houses with all that character and charm. I am familiar with the usual sharehouse drill of respecting others personal space and belongings. Let me know if you think I’d suit your home - look forward to hearing from you!
Hi! I'm Tom, I'm a first year biochemistry PhD student at the University of Melbourne looking for a room in a share-house so that I can live a little closer to uni and not have to spend 2 hours a day browsing instagram while I commute. I probably spend most of my week in the lab so I won't be around too much except for in the evenings, but when I'm home I love a chat and a Furphy (or a Rivet if you're into value). I'd like to think that I'm clean and tidy and am very respectful of other's space. In the evenings I like watching a good horror flick and ordering an Uber eats HSP (but I also know how to cook several Jamie Oliver 15 minute meals).
Hey, I'm Rachel. I'm 25 and moving to Melbourne early July to work in the Royal Children's Hospital. I enjoy catching up with friends, cooking, going out for brunch/dinner/any food at all, but also don't mind slobbing with a (large) glass of wine and watching TV. I'm super friendly and social but like my own space at times too. I probably wont be doing much other than chilling after a long day at work but at weekends or days off I'd like to keep busy, explore the city etc, so looking for housemates that I can be friends with! Ideally live with 2+ people, either mixed gender or female :)
I work in marketing and am in Melbourne for the next month or so and am getting little over staying in hotels, so I'm looking for a furnished studio, 1br or flat share close to the city. Initially here for another month but that will probably extend. I work long hours and travel home most weekends so I'm not around much but am always up for a pizza and a red or a few beers.
Hi Guys, I am a French young women in Melbourne for a WHV (working in a cafe) Easy going, friendly and calm. Love cooking, yoga, cinema, travels and spend funny and sharing moments around a dinner or a glass of wine, also like have my own space. Ideally I would prefer to find a female sharehouse with 1 or 2 flatemates or a couple. Also an animal lover and glad to meet new people ! Cheers
Hi! Let’s get the boring stuff out of the way first: I'm moving from Sydney to find a place to call home long-term in Melbourne, the best city in the country. Leaning towards unfurnished but it’s not a dealbreaker, a backyard, good shower pressure, walkable to a train/tram stop and a dryer are happy bonuses but not requirements, decent internet is a must, I’m LGBTQI+ friendly, I LOVE cats, I ride a motorcycle so parking isn’t an issue, and I am not a fan of spiders or bugs. Now onto the important stuff: I’m taking control of my life and moving to a city I love to pursue a new career in scriptwriting. I was a VR and game developer and i’ll be doing that freelance from time to time. I travel a lot, I can cook (and intend to subscribe to HelloFresh again when I move in, which means i’m down to cook for the house a few times a week), I’ll be auditioning like mad to every amateur theatre group within convenient distance, I’ve always got one song or another stuck in my head, I'm learning the synth and I’m volunteering for the Lifeline suicide prevention hotline. I won't have a full time job when I get move in but I do have a modest trust fund, so I'll never miss a rent or bill payment and I’ll be getting a part time job once i’m settled in. I've lived in share houses before so I know the drill, regular cleaning and respect for common areas and not eating other peoples food and all that. I also come with all sorts of handy house stuff like a big TV, microwave and kitchen stuff if we need it, otherwise I’ll sell it. Oh yeah, and a room-scale VR headset you can play with :D And here’s the biggest thing: This is probably gonna sound odd, but I've come to Melbourne to look for a home with an atmosphere that fosters creativity. That doesn't necessarily mean that it's full of painters and musicians and the like (although that'd be awesome), it means I'm looking for a certain vibe of collaboration or camaraderie, a home rather than a house. I reckon that's more important than details like whether or not there's a dryer or distance to public transport, who you live with is more important than where you live. If any of that resonates with you and your housemates, I’m available for viewings whenever! Thanks for reading all that Adam
I'm from Perth originally but like everyone there I moved over to Melbourne to try it out. I currently working part time in an office job and study law part time. I'm clean, respectful and always pay my bills on time. I can get a little overwhelmed with study and lock myself in my room but I really am always down for a good goss and a glass of wine. You can tend to find me making cocktails and singing along to Drake and Post Malone while I mention the next pair of sneakers I just HAVE to add to the collection. I'm looking for a place that I'm happy to come home to at the end of the day and be with friends!
My name is Sarah and I'm currently looking for a share house in the inner city area. I am a Account Manager for a publishing company and work pretty standard hours. I've lived in share houses for years so I am house trained and always keep communal areas tidy. I have previously lived in Abbotsford so pretty keen to get back there or to a suburb pretty close. I really love socialising with my friends and heading out to the pub but also love an occasional lazy Saturday night in. I generally keep reasonably quiet during the week and head to the gym or yoga most nights or catch up with friends or family. I enjoy having a drink and socialising with my housemate but also will be out a fair bit and respect peoples personal space. I'm also flexible with move in dates.
Hi, I am a Natural Healer who is vegetarian, artist an eco lover. I enjoy be in nature, create art, help to heal people. Open up their connections twards univers and their own higherselves ;)) I am looking for: *An empty private room with lots of storage if possible with a build in wardrobe. (a large room would be lovely!) *I like to have all bills included in rent. *walking distance to grocery shops and cafes since I don't drive. I have my own room furniture but might let them go depending on the condition :) **I am pretty neat and like to have clean environment at all times;) I like to notify my current apartment owner about my moving a month before ideally. Looking forward to hear:) Thanks!
I've just moved to Melbourne and looking for a place to call home, not a house to live in. I'm friendly, bubbly, energetic and enjoy having fun with friends. I'm tidy and respectful of others personal space. I love exercising and looking forward to exploring the sites and culinary delights of Melbourne on weekends, as I work full time Monday to Friday in Sales.
Organised, laid back, and tidy. Home cooked meals and regular exercise are important to me. I’m currently working part-time and studying full-time. I come with a cute little chihuahua/ jack russell (boy). I'll always contribute to grocery shopping and to any repairs that need to be done around the house. I can also contribute the following to any household I join: - large dining table - medium sized silver shag rug - crockeries & cutleries - small coffee table - medium size mirror - large vintage chair - (idk how else to describe it) *Preferably an unfurnished room as I have my own stuff* Being near a tram/train stop is vital for my work commitments. I love having friends over and doing some occasional gathering (would seek your opinion first tho ofc). However, I respect your alone time and your own space as well as tidying up after myself, and generally expect the same from you. Love watching tv shows and would make you watch horror movies with me. Definetly will treat you as a friend rather than a housemate. I'm very interested in teaming up with a group of people or joining an existing household, but NO COUPLES pls and preferably people under 33.
Hello Flatmates! I am 24, studying my final year masters of clinical psychology at melbourne uni! (free therapy?!) I also work as a private tutor and in retail. I am very social, and looking or a place I can become friends with the housies and have one or 8 wines with. Until recently I had a lovely housemate situation, but my pals are moving interstate for work, so I am hoping to find a new home that will heal my broken heart. Ideally this will be a place in the northern suburbs, and cycle distance to the CBD (about 20-25 mins). I also respect people's space and am happy to keep to myself :) Big fan of Netflix. I will be going to placement/ working through the week, but like to be pretty outgoing on the weekend. Of course I am very respectful of noise and other people's space/ work commitments. I am super clean and tidy. You can count on me to vacuum, dust, bleach and scrub until the place sparkles! I like to live in a clean space where people pitch in for cleaning, but am also not extreme about tidiness. I am looking for something long term as moving is pretty horrible and I would like to avoid doing it again at all costs. I am very reliable with paying rent and bills, and have never paid late. If you need furniture, I can bring a fridge, tv table, a (pretty average) TV, coffee table, microwave, sofa, washing machine, and cutlery/ plates etc. Not vital that I bring these things but they're an option! Let me know if you'd like to meet :) Beth
I am a responsible professional and respectful flatmate who is able to pull their weight around the house. I also fairly social so out and about a lot but also happy to share a glass of wine and dinner at home.
I am looking for a private, unfurnished room to move into ASAP: Abbotsford, Collingwood, Fitzroy, East Melbourne, Carlton North, Richmond etc. -Happy to pay up to $250 (more if the place is right). -Must have a parking space (either on street permit or off street). -would prefer own bathroom or only sharing with one other ABOUT ME: I am 23 and work for a pharmaceutical company in Abbotsford, in clinical trials. I like keeping active and am a bit of a yogi, but I also enjoy a good donut or five. Enjoy going on adventures and love trying out new cafes/restaurants. Partial to an espresso martini or two, a good cheese and wine night or a relaxed night in watching Netflix. I also enjoy lying in the sun reading books.....Looking for a house where the housemates enjoy spending time together, but of course also respectful of people's privacy and schedules. I'm neat and tidy and hope you are too. I have lived in share houses for the past five years. Message me if you'd like to know more, looking forward to hearing from you :) ALSO: I have a nice modern fridge, a 42in TV, a vacuum and iron/ironing board, that I can bring to the house if needed, but if not can store elsewhere.
Hello My name’s Alex. I work in health and social equity, my last job was on the close the gap campaign. I’ve just returned from a 6 month trip across Central America learning Spanish, hiking around, and living the Latin life. I’ve sharehoused all my life, very adaptable and can live with all types. I’m socialable and prefer to go to the pub with mates rather than nightclubs. I keep things clean and tidy, and very conscientious of other people’s space and things. I like to cook, but I eat out just as often, and I keep pretty fit and healthy.
