I work full time as a technical support engineer, and will be working from Canberra which is why I'm looking for accommodation here! I am originally from Sweden (but an Aus citizen), so this will be the first time I'm permanently living in Australia. In my free time I play quite a bit of video games but I also really enjoy going out and seeing and exploring new things, which I hope I'll be doing quite a bit of! I'm looking for a place where I'll be able to stay for a longer amount of time, as I'd like to be able to live relatively steady while I have a job. I really am not too fussed about how many people I live with or what they do, as long as they don't smoke inside. I'd also be fine living with any type of pet. As I'm not actually arriving to Australia until March 5th, meeting me before to see who/what I am might be difficult. However, I am totally down to Skype or whatever is suitable beforehand so that that neither of us have to go in blind.
Hi, my name's Tamim. I'm from Sydney and I'm moving to Canberra for a graduate job. I'm a clean and organised person who likes to live a healthy lifestyle. In my spare time I like to talk to people over a couple of drinks and watch/play sports especially cricket. I'm looking for people who are also working, are clean, easygoing and would be open to grabbing a drink or some food every now and then :)
(Moving date is flexible) Hi! I'm Liska, I'm a tidy Honours student studying Chinese translation at ANU. I'm looking for a relaxed, friendly household in the inner north. I'm language and history-obsessed, love all pets, consume music voraciously, sew patches, play video games and make really good margaritas. Starting to get into gardening. I also write fiction and build fantasy worlds for fun and pay. Would be open to cooking together! (although I'm vegetarian) Happy to work within organised cleaning/chore rosters etc I head up to Newcastle sometimes to visit my family and girlfriend. She also likes to visit me too now and then so I'm looking for somewhere where she'd be welcome to stay in my room. Let me know if your place sounds like a match!
Hi, I'm Dan. I'm a 27 year old sports biomechanist moving over to Canberra from Perth to work at the AIS at the start of February. I've spent the last 10 years at uni, so I'm looking forward to the new challenge. Given I'm moving across the country, I'm looking for a furnished room (preferably not a single bed). The location of any potential house doesn't really bother me, as long as it's in Canberra. I'd be after a housemate or housemates that are easy to get along with and share a space with. Unsurprisingly (given my profession) I am a bit of sport nut. I also love music, food, and the odd drink. I’m easy going and happy to socialise but am also fine with keeping my own company. I’m clean and tidy and definitely don’t mind helping out with housework when it’s needed.
Hello, I am currently studying at both ANU and UC, and work at UC as a lab assistant. I'm pretty quiet and tidy. For fun, I usually play video games or browse the internet. I'm preferably looking for a place that has some space, as I'm moving out of student accommodation (which is tiny).
Ex-Sunshine State in town 1 month for work. I'm a big gamer, foodie and muso when time allows. Fun fact about me: I've recently spent 6 month abroad in Detroit flat-mating with a Frenchman who passed on a glorious French Onion Soup recipe... Whether your house is quiet/social, filled with pets or social butterflies - I'm flexible.
I'm going to be studying at AIE in Watson. I mostly play computer games in my spare time. I've been living in Merimbula since my parents moved there in 2012. I need a place relatively quiet place so I can work on my course.
Moving to Canberra in Feb 2019 to take up a new job in Government. Will be returning to Sydney each weekend, so looking for somewhere comfortable and convenient for Monday to Friday. Easygoing, self sufficient, neat and friendly.
Hey! My name's Niall, I'm a full-time undergrad at the ANU. I'm looking for a share-house or apartment in the Inner North. I love trail running, hiking and other outdoorsy activities. I've had bad roommates in the past so I definitely know what NOT to do - I'm clean and get that shared space needs to be kept tidy. I'd love a beer and a chat after uni but also understand everyone's need for personal space. Super keen to hear from you and see how I can add to your household!
I'm pretty relaxed, quiet and a lover of gaming, reading and history. I'm not afraid of a conversation, in fact, I love to converse so that I may learn as much as humanly possible about anything really, I also have a great sense of humour and love cracking jokes and having a drink to relax (I'm a cider guy).
Hello, My name is Sally i am looking to move closer to the city and to live with some chill roommates. I'm very respectful and clean. I'm quite laid back and very social but also enjoy alone time. I'm currently working in the city in retail. I own a cat but she is very clean, small and quiet but also cute, soft and friendly. I hope to hear back from someone :)
My name is Aaron, I’m 18 and a student at the University of Canberra. I have enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Psychology which i’ll start in February. I’m an easy going guy that gets along with almost everybody, and is considerate and respectful of others. I’m generally quiet and i appreciate keeping things clean and tidy (especially in the Kitchen!). I don’t require much, and i’m generally pretty flexible. I’ve had some experience living in a couple of sharehouses around Canberra in the past year, which has taught me how to live harmoniously with others and has also provided me with amazing friends. I’m always keen to check out a live gig or have an occasional bevvy, and i always enjoy meeting new and intriguing people. I enjoy watching films and i work in New Acton at Palace electric cinema, where i’ve been for the past year or so. I’m looking for something more stable and secure, with some brilliant people. Hopefully before University starts back up in February this year. Cheers!
I'm an easy going 21 year old female. I rarely drink and don't smoke but I also don't judge or care if others do. I currently live in a flat by myself so I can get a reference if asked. I am clean and tidy and will look after myself. I am organised and good at money management so you won't have to bother me for rent.
I'm currently moving from Perth WA to Canberra for full-time work for the government. I am quite person who likes my own space and is respectful of others, but always happy to have a chat or drink with room mates. I am easy going, easy to get along with and looking for a room in an established share house close to my work. I enjoy reading and cooking. I generally consider myself a bit of a handy person and can fix things.
- I’m very social and like to get out and about with friends for play dates and mini adventures. - I’m pretty active and like to try new things but am also discovering lots of things I’m shit at. - I’m a super keen skier and snowboarder and work every weekend in winter. - I’m a full time public servant and enjoy downtime in front of the box with some takeaway. - lastly, I grew up in country Victoria and moved to Canberra in 2016 after a long stint in Melbourne
I’m a postdoc at the ANU, doing research in threatened species conservation. Outside of work, my interests include climbing, yoga, riding my bike, swing dancing, camping, hiking... I’ve been in Canberra a couple of years now (previously Melbourne and other places). I consider myself a considerate, clean house mate. I go to bed relatively early through the week (as I get up early) so looking for a quieter home but also one that’s friendly and open to kitchen chats etc :)
I will be commencing my post graduated studies in Environmental and Resource Economics at ANU this year . I am an international student from Papua New Guinea. I am single . I love playing netball when I am free and going for an occasional morning jog. I am neat and tidy and like to be prompt. I am interested in sharing accommodation with with whom have a similar interest.
We are two existing friends/housemates looking for a new place together. We are looking for one or more people to team up with to find a place, preferably a house, in the 2602 postcode area with max budget of about $180 each. (So $510 a week for a 3 bed, $680 for a 4 bed). Neither of us smoke, both of us are vegetarian (tho no issue if you're not!), and have reliable jobs! Maddi is a 21 year-old Capricorn who recently graduated from IR at ANU (so maybe she can give you some tips 👉👉). I'm a 22 year-old Leo who will be starting uni up again (been travelling and working for the past two years) this year to study nursing. We like: - Canberra's cafes + coffee (we can show you around!) - my Netflix account - red wine 🍷 - art stuff - pasta (conversely, if you have a house that has a vacancy for the pair of us let us know!)
I'm relocating to Canberra to commence a Gov't Graduate Program in 2019 and am in need of accommodation! I'm originally from regional Victoria but have spent the last four years studying in Melbourne and abroad. I'm looking to rent a room in an already established house, or, am keen to meet up with people in a similar position to myself to house hunt with. For the last three years, I've lived in a share house and at residential college, so I'm incredibly comfortable with share house life and consider myself to be a pretty clean, conscientious housemate. I like to read, play sport and am keen to explore Canberra!
We are a friendly and clean couple who both work full time (Jonas as a mechanic and myself as a consultant). When we're not working we’re at sport or uni, but also enjoy relaxing and finding new places to eat and drink. We're originally from the South Coast so often go home to visit on weekends. We’re looking to move from our current accommodation soon but are flexible with dates.
I’m from Canberra originally but I’ve lived out of home since 2014 including in London and Melbourne. I am always up for a good chat and am a great listener, but I also understand boundaries and respect privacy. I know how to keep my stuff neat and tidy, having lived in a couple of shoebox rooms across the years, and coming from a large family (4 siblings). I’m currently working at a cafe in the city and intending to continue working at least 20 hours a week through semester. What time I’m not studying or working I like to spend running, Rogaining (long distance orienteering), reading or binging netflix. I much prefer chatting over a drink at home or at a bar than rowdy parties or clubbing, and I like cooking and sharing meals. I'm looking to share with fun and interesting people, and to make new friends.
