PLEASE NOTE: EARLIEST MOVE IN DATE - 15/2/2018 I'm 28, from regional Victoria and currently work for the Victorian Government as a senior transport planner. I'm looking for a place to call home as I am moving to Launceston, TAS to work with one of the country's largest engineering and planning firms. Ideally I'm looking for a house, townhouse or even an apartment with a view to move into preferably by mid to end of February. As long as there's a decent pub or two in the neighbourhood, a decent supermarket down the road, somewhere to get bearably decent coffee in the morning and the house/apartment is secure and not broken into every second day I'm open to pretty much anyone who might want to share a house with me. I'm single, gay, tidy, pay all of my bills and rent on time (if not in advance) and extremely chill/relaxed. I also have no issues living with pets and love dogs. As far as interests go, whilst I was finishing my masters at Melbourne Uni I was working for Lion Nathan at the Little Creatures and White Rabbit breweries in Geelong, Victoria so needless to say, I enjoy most things beer - especially a couple of froffs socially. Enjoy my rugby (union - the Queensland Reds and Melb. Rebels), travelling (in my own backyard and abroad), skiing, good music (esp. live), design (industrial, graphic and architecture) and of course urban planning and politics. Cheers, Josh
Hey! Im Eb. I’m in my Second year as an Apprentice Chef but am looking forward to taking some time off over the Summer and working in Hospitality on a casual basis and commencing study in Feb at UTAS. I'm a super chilled person to live with as I mostly keep to myself, but will happily chuck the kettle on and have a coffee with you and ask about your day. I love music so i'm always finding gigs to go to and listening to music. Don’t worry - I don’t blast it through the house. I've lived in share houses before so I understand the shared responsibilities that come with sharing accommodation. I’m very respectful of other people’s space just as I expect the same in return. I love animals - so if you have a dog, I will probably pay more attention to him/her than what I will to you, don’t get offended! I don’t have a preference, although I do prefer to live with males. Only for the fact I find men easier to get along with and find we generally have more similar interests. I’m not a girly girl. If you think we might hit it off - send me a message nd i’d love to chat.
Hi guys, I have just recently moved to Launceston after completing tertiary studies in Victoria. I am working full-time and am looking for a place to stay. This would be a long term solution. I am very active, play football and enjoy hiking and gardening. I am clean, quiet and respectful but am able to enjoy a beer and some good company. Please let me know if you have an availability. Thanks in advance, Cato

Hi I'm a student at UTAS. I'm planning to move out of where I live now for the new semester. I'm a clean and organized person. I'm easygoing and easy to talk with (And I think communication is really important between flatmates). I come here to study so I don't party and enjoy silence. Hope to see you guys soon.
I'm a Kiwi living in Singapore. I love sailing boats for fun. Just enrolled into Uni to upgrade my skills Very keen to explore Tasmania. Always wanted to go there. I'm a normal person... house trained... like dogs and not too shabby in the kitchen. Easy going and not fussy. I'm OK to help with dishes, rubbish and the usual duties... Cheers, Craig
A large house on Foch Street, Mowbray, Launceston, 3 minutes of walk to University of Tasmania and Australian Maritime College. 5 minutes of walk to Mowbray shopping centre including two major supermarkets. Three rooms are available for lease. The house has a ducted gas heating system to keep you warm in the winter, two bathrooms and is furnished with bed, wardrobe, and large desk in bedrooms; fridge, microwave, dining table suite in the kitchen, wash machine in the laundry; and internet. The house is fully fenced, secure and quiet. The garden is maintained by the owner. Weekly rent: $110 for large rooms and $90 for the smaller room.
One room to rent, in a lovely 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom townhouse, located on St John Street in Launceston. Very modern and sun-filled house. The room available would be unfurnished, however the rest of the house would be furnished (we are flexible however if you have some furniture). Rent is $150/week per person, with a $400 bond per person, and split bills for everything else. Room is available 1st of January 2018, preferably for a 12 month lease - negotiable starting as realise this is very soon! *Please note the image below with the large mirror on the wall and dining table, is the bedroom (not utilised as a dining room currently).
Our house is in a beautiful location, looking over almost all of Launceston. It used to be a doctor's house back in the early 1900's, and now houses 4 very comfortably. Only 10 minute walk into the CBD, but very quiet and peaceful regarding noise levels. There is a sunroom, outdoor courtyard, kitchen, one bathroom but a separate toilet adjacent to the laundry, and a beautiful back yard. All jobs are shared equally in a weekly roster system.
If you are planning ahead and looking for somewhere to stay during your AMC or the Newnham Campus of Utas study year in 2018 then we might be the home you are looking for. For students, the room rates are $145 or $150/week (I have two different homes, only one is featured here) and have different inclusions and there is no room sharing unless you are a couple. Contact me for couple rates. The home featured and pictured here is fondly called VB and it has been home to students from around the world for over 10 years...so you will be joining a family that spans the globe! Both homes have had similar history and have a wall of fame to join. When you see our VB kitchen wall.....you will see the variety of people who have shared this home with you - get your pic up on our wall and make history with us. We also share family dinners with our other share home family...so you will be part of a new network when you walk through our door. The home is two story, has a wonderful balcony overlooking a pretty garden, full of roses during summer, and looks out to the Tamar river, with the fabulous setting sun on a warm day. Each room in VB has in-room heating, all linen and bedding supplied - if you need it - with everything you would need for your study time here in Launceston and a fully equipped kitchen. What's included in both homes, if you are a student? Study desk/lamp/chair, and rooms have double or queen beds other than our fondly-called Sunroom. AND we are just under 3km from the AMC/Uni...people staying here have walked, ridden bikes or used their cars/caught the bus. There is a large wifi internet down-load you share with your housemates, and all the water and some of the power is included in your weekly rent. For VB, because your landlord lives in, you get to have someone who keeps your toilet/bathroom clean and the common areas clean too...now that is fairly amazing ;). Clothes and dish detergent is also included. Most of the students who have stayed here have been PhD students, ocean or marine engineers, valuing the quiet space and ability to focus on getting their studies done vs dealing with share house politics which can happen in some homes. So, if you like space to enjoy your down time reading a book in the sun or watching a movie, AND a quiet environment to study, this is probably a great place for you. The home is a home for you while you are away from your own, with a great lounge that also overlooks the river and the sunny garden, with a large TV for times when you are over study and want to veg out. My other home is also a great space and somewhat larger - and there are rooms still available there too, for 2018 uni/AMC year. If we sound like the sort of place you would like to share with us, call us or drop Suz a line and we can see if we both have a fit. We can't wait to hear from you!
The house has a great location. It is really close to the tranquil UTAS campus of Launceston (5 minutes' walk). Shopping is easy here, just walk for 10 minutes and you're at Coles, Woolworths or Target. Transportation is also easy here, we have a bus stop right across the road. The house is also pretty close to the highway. 5 minutes' drive to down town Launceston and you can get to all the North-eastern scenery spots within an hour. The house is all furnished and all kinds daily necessities are available. Kitchen is shared. Feel free to use any of the equipment in there. You will also share the washing machine with you flatmates but they don't use the machine much. The room is furnished with a single bed, a desk and a wardrobe. Other essentials such as tissue paper, soap, and detergent will also be there. The best thing of this room is that you'll have a bathroom of your own! Everyone is welcomed and hope you enjoy the room!
