Light-filled master room & ensuite in a large house on the Thornbury and Preston border, sub-let for 1 person from 14 February for up to 6 months. Very open to shorter stays.

The room:
- Large master bedroom on the second floor with east-facing windows with morning sun. It's the only bedroom upstairs.
- Ensuite bathroom
- Built-in wardrobes
- East-facing private balcony
- Private laundry with supplied washing machine
- Some furnishings can be provided if needed (no bed, you’ll need to bring your own). Let us know if you need any help finding one.

The house:
- Modern kitchen with gas stove, electric oven, fridge, microwave etc
- Fast NBN
- Open, bright, light-filled spaces throughout
- Multiple shared living areas with morning and afternoon sun (5 in total)
- Big sunny backyard and front yard
- City views
- Garage available if you need extra storage
- Peace, quiet, and privacy
- 1 x A/C unit in a lounge room but not in bedrooms
- Sadly no dishwasher
- 3 person share house (including you)

Location:
- 5 min walk to High St, Thornburry and Plenty Rd, Preston
- Close to Woolworths (Preston South), Aldi, cafés, bars, yoga studios and Thornbury Picture House cinema.
- 86 tram nearby
- 10 min walk to Thornbury Station or Bell Station
- 8 min bike to the Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre (aka outdoor 50m pool)
- 26 min walk to Preston Market / 9 min bike
- A fleet of GoGet cars are parked around the area for hire. Perfect for weekend trips. 

Cost
- $350 per week (paid every 4 weeks).
- Bills split equally ($100 per month on average) and paid upfront for short-stays.
- There is no lease transfer fee

Process:
Step1: Please send a message with a bit about you, your ideal timeframe within the 6 months, what your typical week looks like, and why you'd like to live here :)

Step2: We will shortlist responses and then reach out for a short 15minute video call.

Step3: Invitation to meet in-person & inspect the room. Happy to send across videos in advance too

Step4: Offers to sub-let the room will be communicated after we've had the video call and in-person inspection. Note: this is a short-term sublet, not a lease transfer and won't suit people who are looking for long-term.

Our ideal preference is a 3-month sublet with option to extend to 6-months if we all love living together.

About the flatmates

You’ll be living with a couple, Jess (she/her) and Jesse (he/him), both in our mid to late 30s. We’re independent freelance workers in creative fields and like the house to feel relaxed and easy, everyone doing their own thing, with the occasional kitchen catch up or balcony drink.

Jesse is a sound engineer, happiest with a good record on in his studio, something cooking, or getting absorbed in a creative project. Jess works in design and is happiest when dancing, surfing, or spending time with her favourite people. As introverts, we recoup energy and recharge at home.

The household vibe is calm, friendly, quiet and very independent. We’re an LGBTQIA+ friendly home, respectful of neurodiversity needs, and mindful of dietary requirements in shared spaces. It’s a peaceful home where privacy is respected.

We share the basics of keeping the place running & homely, including cleaning, bins, paying bills promptly, and the occasional bit of garden care. We’re equity-minded and aim for a fair split based on time, energy, and skills, and we’re always happy to talk it through so it feels balanced. At the end of the day, our main need is for you to be proactive and care for the house and each other. We want this dynamic to feel easeful.

We’re looking for one person only, no couples and no pets please.
