Mature (42) Journalist & VCA Postgrad — Clean, Quiet, and Fully House-Trained
Hi, I’m Nick / Nico (42, gay). I’ve just moved to Melbourne from Canberra to start a Master of Theatre (Dramaturgy) at the VCA, while continuing part-time work as a journalist.
I’m looking for a quiet, adult household (ideally queer-aligned) — a friendly, respectful, well-maintained home base for the duration of my Master’s (at least 12-18 months).
I’m a theatre person who enjoys good conversation; I’m fully house-trained; I respect personal space; and I’m well-versed in the social contract of shared living.
I’ve lived in everything from solo flats to international lodgings — and I’ve house-sat for repeat clients, so I treat homes with a high level of care and respect. I understand basic hygiene, and value clean communal areas — I’m definitely not the person who leaves dishes for 24 hours!
I’m not a bad cook, either (from the basics to the Babylonian!).
I’m serious about my work, but easy to live with. I’ve written several books on French opera and the world’s first review of The Lord of the Rings opera.
I also received an award from a charity for my services to the Canberra community; next month, the same charity will publish a booklet of my articles telling the cost-of-living crisis from the community sector’s perspective.
If you have a room coming up, or know someone who does, I’d love to hear from you. Cheers!
