Hi, I’m Nick.
I work full-time as a journalist for Canberra Weekly / Canberra Daily.
I'm 42, and gay.
My interests are theatre, opera, and books (especially detective fiction).
I’m fully house-trained. I’ve lived in everything from solo flats to international lodgings — and I’ve house-sat for repeat clients, so I treat homes with a high level of care and respect.
I’m well-versed in the social contract of shared living. I enjoy a good conversation, but respect personal space. I clean up after myself — I’m definitely not the person who leaves dishes for 24 hours!
I’m not a bad cook, either (from the basics to the Babylonian!).
I’ve written several books on French opera and the world’s first review of The Lord of the Rings opera.
I also received an award from charity HelpingACT for my services to the Canberra community. That charity this year published a booklet of my articles telling the cost-of-living crisis from the community sector’s perspective.
