My parents are both chefs. I will cook for you.
Did that opener catch you? I'm Rhys, 24yo, big fan of all things food, good music, gym & outdoors.
I grew up near Coffs Harbour, and in 2021 moved to Sydney to study my pilot licence, was working for Merivale (shudder), then Red Bull, and since then have been doing work in the Snowy Mountains and Outback QLD. I helped my brother launch his engineering software company this year, and I'm looking to settle back into Sydney. I miss the joint!
I'm looking to move down in July, and will be staying for the foreseeable future, so looking for a nice little pad with some cool people.
As I mentioned, I'm big on cooking - I will bring my own pans. I can cook you a mean scotch fillet, prawn & chive dumplings (from scratch, duh), or whip up some kingfish ceviche on a random Tuesday night. I'm no Bourdain, but I'm not horrible. Learned a thing or two from the 'rents. Most of the time I just cook myself gym-bro gruel, but if the house wants kingfish, the house gets kingfish.
I love a big night on the town, but I'll never bring it home; Occasionally I run house music events with my mates. All things music, hiking, skiing, and creative stuff keep me sane - developing a workout tracking app at the moment, and I do lots of content creation for the biz, so I know my way around a camera.
Day-to-day, I'm a bit of a homebody - weeknights, if I'm not building apps or cooking after the gym, I'll be hanging out on the couch reading a book, following up work stuff (I promise I'm not one of those people that never stops talking about work), or watching YouTube videos about jet engines or engineering (B1M obviously). In saying that, I'm always open to a shiraz fuelled living room gossip sesh game night. The rubber arm isn't hard to twist.
I work full-time with my brother, meaning I'll be working from my room, at least until we set up an office in Sydney. Occasionally I'll have to fly to somewhere in QLD for work, so you'll get some peace and quiet every once in a while.
I have a boyfriend, so he'll probably be around a bit too. You'll like him though, he's hot and has an accent.
I'm pretty open to the households I move into. I want housemates that are open to meeting my mates, and vice versa. Only non-negotiables are that I don't have to clean up messes I didn't make, and any disagreements are settled asap, not ruminated on. If you can agree to that, I can too.
I've set this up as a backup mainly, as the plan is to get a place with my best mate, who's already in Sydney. In saying that, we're open to getting a bigger place with a couple of cool people, so shoot me a message if you think you're a fit
Keen to jump on a FaceTime or share socials if you want a better gauge on me. Cheers!
