About me

Hello, my name is Abbey(she/they) and I am a queer artist born and raised in a small rural part of "Canada". I can tell you many stories of my quirky area that will sound very stereotype canadian😅. I am a dual citizen of "Australia" and have been living on Yuggera/Turrbal land in Meanjin since 2022.Willaby is my little mini schanuzer. More about her below.

I am seeking to move in by November 22nd:). Happy to hop on the lease and negotiate when its ideal to start paying rent.

A little more about myself
Work:
I currently work full-time as an Indoor Plant Technician. This means, I bring home flatmate requested plants😌. I have transfered my work contract over to the Melbs location and will continue on there.

I primarily work a 4 day work week (tues-fri). I have to be at the yard quite early so I am out the door by 5:45am and return home around 1:30pmish.

I also work professionally as a freelance life model. Normally I model 1 or 2 gigs a fortnight.

Artist side hustle/hobbies/interests
I am a professional lifemodel and artist. In Brisbane I hosted sensual life drawing sessions, and a casual lifedrawing sessions at a queer owned cafe, Third Space.

I am going to continue hosting sensual life drawing sessions in Naarm. I am hoping to commence them in January 2027.

I love live music, art shows, silly side quests, thrifting, gardening, painting, enjoying nature, and exploring (esp with Willaby).

Sharehouse values
I love community in sharehouses. Whether its communal dinners, outings, a living room space that is a chill hang space, seshes, adventures etc. When I have issues with housemates, I bring it up privately with them and then see if its something that should be brought up in group checkins. I look after the houses I live in. Legit doing landscaping on my current sharehouse bc why not!

share house experience

I have been living with my current share house for 1.5 years. Ive coordinated bills and communication between renters and landlords, and also been chill when other people want to take the lead on that.
Before the sharehouse I lived by myself in a two bedroom unit. I'd occasionally sublet to friends, but for 2 years I essentially lived by myself (and Willaby).

Willaby is a 3.5 year old Mini Schnauzer. She is duchess diva, an absolute sook, and a chaotic little billy goat all wrapped up into one 8kg body. Willaby has lived with a grumpy super senior cat (20 years old), as well as lived with two 3 year old devon rex cats. She has also with an old rescue staffie-cross(10 years old) that did not get along with other dogs, but allowed her to have puppy snuggles. Alls to say she adjusts well with animals. Even if she doesn't end up playing with them, she does enjoy their company. She knows how to tell animals 'no' or 'back off' and also knows how to listen to those queues as well. She doesn't like to be alone but she learns to respect roommate boundaries. For example I had a roommate that did not like her in thier room. She would lay down and chill outside their door (open or closed) if they were the only two in the house (besides the senior cat). If you like company she will happily crawl into your lap, or beside you, and or sleep next to you on your bed or couch. I am hoping to find housemates that love dogs too<3.

Happy to hop on a facetime or call and yap more:)
