He might take a little bit of time to warm up to you, but before you know if it he will be burrowing next to you on the couch for a snuggle if you let him. He is toilet trained and has previously had access to the ground floor during the day and sleeps in my room at night. He has been living with two cats for the last 19 months and, although it took them a minute to warm up, they ended up being good friends.
