It is Australia's only monolithic dome house. The construction process means it is warm in winter, (with gas fires for the cold times) and cool in summer. The house is three stories and your room is on the ground floor, and has an adjacent living room with its own stove. You can use it or the main kitchen upstairs. The house is very safe to live in. It can withstand tornadoes and earthquakes and is very fire resistant. The windows are double glazed with the outer glass being toughened, so no-one can break in. All the normal costs are included in the rent. There is gas heating. There is solar and wind electricity. This gives a good electric supply, but unfortunately I prefer someone with a portable computer rather than an electric guzzling mainframe! There is plenty of parking. The Ballan train station is just two minutes away. There are trains every hour to Melbourne and Ballarat, with trains also going to Ararat and Maryborough. If you study or work in Melbourne you can do that from this house in Ballan. The sunsets are amazing.
