Hi! I'm from India and have a Bachelors' Degree in Architecture. July 2018 i begin with my Masters' Degree at the ANU. Love travelling / exploring and have many tales to tell from the various journeys I've had. Am highly adaptable and quick at socialising. Also, I'm extremely meticulous in everything I do and very particular about cleanliness.
Hi I'm Charmaine, 25 year old female, relocating from Brisbane to Canberra for work. I'm friendly, neat and tidy. Love being social but wouldn't invade your personal space. Happy to share a meal/drink or two and would love to be shown around Canberra as I'm quite new :)
I am a female student from Denmark. During my stay in Canberra I will be studying at ANU as a Master student in Chemistry. My semester begins mid-July and ends mid-November, why I am looking for a room for four months In Denmark I am used to live in a dorm with 19 other students, hence I know how to share living room, kitchen and bathroom with other people, how to clean the house and make it a nice place to stay. In my sparetime I like to do different kinds of sports such as running, spinning, swimming, skiing and dancing. Besides that I am a very chill person who also enjoys a cold beer or a glass of wine, reading books, going to koncerts and out to bars, cooking and watching a movie. I am looking for a furnished room since I will not bring any furnitures with me from Denmark.
Hi. I'm moving from Sydney to Canberra with work in August and looking for a good home to share. I'm 41 and work 8-5ish. Weekdays I train a few times before work and like to chill at night, either on my own or happy to cook and chat over a meal. Weekends I'll likely be exploring my new town, or on my bike. Happy to hang out sometimes on the weekends if you're into similar things, but I'm also happy in my own space, or hang with the couple of mates in ACT already. I have my own furniture and can bring as much or as little as needed, like to keep things tidy & clean, and am an experienced flatty so am considerate with noise, chores and all the shared stuff. Canberra is a long term move, so I'm looking a longer term stay.
We have just signed the lease for an apartment in Barton and are looking for someone to move into the third bedroom. The room will fit a queen bed and desk and has a large built in wardrobe with access to the front courtyard, you would be sharing a bathroom with one other.
I originaly come from Yass, NSW but I am now working full time at old Parliament House as a barrister and waiter (8am to 5pm) I enjoy cooking and eat almost anything, I'm also down with vegetarian and vegan. I am a very clean and tidy person and I like coming home after a long days work to a clean house. I am an easy going person and easy to get along with, I like socializing at the end of the day and on weekends; for instance sharing dinner together or having a drink. In my free time I like to draw, read and watch movies. I do enjoy getting outside and longboarding as well as hiking when I get the chance. I understand the importance of privacy and I will 100% respect it. I have lived with other families and people and do have valuable experience.
Hiya! My name is Alicia and I am moving to Canberra at the beginning of August, meaning I require a new home:) I'm a full time worker doing admin in the construction industry as well as attempting to study Marketing part time online. I'm really looking for a home where the housemates get along and who wouldn't mind giving me some tips on some local places (help a Newbie!). I'm clean, love a laugh and respect peoples privacy as well as enjoy my own alone time. My cooking skills are limited so unfortunately I can not try to win you over with some amazing dish but I do know how to wash dishes and put them away :D Balcony, en suite and/or pets would be a huge bonus. Hope to hear from you! Cheers, Alicia
I'm clean and tidy and would love to have my other housemates share similar characteristics. I'm a recent postgraduate student and is relocating from Sydney to Canberra, because of an internship opportunity. Personally, I do not smoke, however, I won't mind if my housemate smoke as long as he/she is not smoking while indoor. I'm looking for a like-minded individual who is respectful of other people space.
I am a youthful 55yrs post-surgery Transgender person who is very easy going. I'm currently at University of Canberra studying Bch Of Public Health. I am mostly seeking to join an existing sharehouse with space, although starting a new share property is an option for me too. Just 2-4 people including me would be preferable. I would be willing to sign-up to a joint lease with other tenants if necessary. I can contribute furniture to the property, although I don't have a dining suite or a lounge suite. Alternatively, I can place unused items in a dry, lockup garage if available. * Kitchen = large twin door fridge, microwave and just about every cooking item you could want! * Living = large timber pieces including wall units, bookcase, hallway table and entertainment unit (for television, etc). * Laundry = front loading washing machine, ironing board, etc. * Outside = lawn mower, whipper snipper, water hose, etc. * Bedroom = I have a six piece timber bedroom setting. I have an existing NBN Internet contract with unlimited data and a 100mb speed connection. It also includes the Optus 'Fetch' TV with 6 channels and access to netflix, etc. If your place already has an internet service, I may be able to transfer my account to other tenants in the property where I currently live. I am available to move-in to a new property quite soon - within two/three weeks depending on mutual circumstances. My share of any rent would be $200 per week maximum (I am a Uni student after all.) I'd prefer a property that is in good condition and located within reasonable travel distance to the University of Canberra. But i'm flexible for the 'right' property. That's it !!! Hit me up if you have a large bedroom in a sharehome that may be suitable.
Full-time professional working with the APS in Barton. I enjoy my sport and often ride to work in the mornings. I am clean, tidy, and can be social while remaining respectful of boundaries. Looking for a place with similar values. I am French-Australian so naturally, I enjoy red wine, cheese and white flags. Cheers, Damien
Hey all, my name is Nick. I'm looking for a room with its own bathroom within 10-15 minutes of the city (North or South is fine by me!) I'm a public servant and relatively new to Canberra. I'm social and friendly and love getting out and about to new restaurants, hiking spots etc. (you name it!), no stranger to the occasional Netflix binge, or the odd drink. I'm looking for roommates I can hang out with, but also appreciate the need for quiet time. I have lots of furniture to contribute if needed, and I'm happy to move into an existing house or team up with people looking to move.
We’re offering a beautiful, light apartment close to amazing restaurants, government departments and Parliament. It’s a short walk to the Kingston and Manuka shops. The apartment is also super spacious with a great view from the balcony. The lounge and kitchen are furnished but you’ll have to furnish your room.
Hi guys. I'm a FT Senior Technical Writer working on cyber security for the AFP on a 12-month plus contract. I need a fully furnished place including a bed within a 20 minute walk to the AFP in Barton (essential) where I can rest my head and park my things. I'm from Melbourne so every second weekend or so and for the occasional week I'll be flying home. I'm really easy to live with, uber tidy, like to socialise but also love my own space, love a glass of red and a chat, like Netflix and am well travelled (over 65 countries and counting) so I can recount many interesting travel stories and experiences if this is your thing. I'm fit, active, ride a bike and 58 years old. If this sounds like a fit, give me a ring, or alternatively send me a message through Flatmates. For more of a heads up check out my LinkedIn profile as well as well as my profile on Flatmates. Availability is circa 2 weeks, but I’m flexible as I’m currently living in O’Malley but want to move closer to Barton to avoid the daily return bus travel. Cheers, Rick
Hello! I am a 26 year old, young professional female who works full time. I am originally from Sydney, and moved to Canberra in 2015; working for both the government and non for profit sector. In August 2017, I decided to take a year off work to travel the world. Over the last 12 months, I have been abroad in Latin America, New Zealand, India and Iran. I have had many great adventures, but sadly out of money and time so headed back to our nations capital (just in time for winter, yay!). I have lived in two wonderful sharehouses in Canberra. I am a respectful and social housemate; I am bubby and positive, and would love housemates I could share a glass of wine or dinner with, but I equally need some space as well as downtime! I am quite social, and would love to have a homely space that I feel comfortable having friends over every now and then. I am very tidy, and consider myself a very proactive cleaner in terms of house chores. I respect the space I live in, and take price in a clean tidy house. During the week, I tend to keep quite busy; I like to exercise in the mornings, and do activities like yoga or dance class, trivia, or drinks with friends in the evenings. In terms of hobbies, I love to run, garden, read, cook (healthy and sustainable, mostly veg food), drink wine (mostly only on weekends, but could be convinced otherwise), learn Spanish, hike, camp, and travel! I have friends and family in Sydney, and my long term boyfriend of 6 years lives interstate, so I am often away on weekends. I am after a sharehouse that my boyfriend can come visit and feel comfortable every third weekend or so. He's a great visitor though; he lives on a farm and works at a brewery part time while studying, so usually comes with gifts for the house like fresh eggs, vegetables and craft brew cider and beer! I come with furniture for a bedroom, and have money set aside to purchase any thing that is needed for the house as a contribution. I also have a few plants which I could add to the house foliage. I am due to start back at work the 23rd of July, and would be keen to commence in a sharehouse around that time. If I sound like a suitable fit, I'd love the opportunity to talk more with you. Looking forward to hearing from you, Jacqui
This is a beautiful renovated unit in the oldest apartment block in Canberra. It's the heart of the parliamentary triangle - super close to government offices. Also just across the road from Hotel Realm and easy walking distance to other important venues, including Brod Burger, Silo and the Kingston Hotel. The unit itself is bright, spacious and charming, with a fireplace, high ceilings, a study and radiator heating (that strata pays for!). The unit and bedroom are furnished. There's unallocated offstreet parking for residents and it is always easy to find a park. The bedroom for rent is big, bright and has built ins, and looks out over the lovely courtyard.
I'm back in Canberra (studied and worked here previously) after several years overseas. Got lots of good travel stories. Aiming to cycle to work at Black Mountain most days. Don't watch much tv, tend to read books, like to be active, and usually out and about on weekends. Ideal place would have (in decreasing order of importance): awesome housemate, carpet, sunshine, views, gas cooking. Love cats so that would be an amazing bonus!
I am a postgraduate student who will study in ANU and would like to find a place which is within 5 km of ANU. I'm easy going and friendly. I love music, games and movies, but will not influence others, for I respect privacy and space.
Great location at Barton, near to award winning restaurants, bars and cafe. Gym next door with heated indoor pool, sauna and jacuzzi . Good living space with outdoor space and good natural lighting. The apartment is fully furnished and it has everything you need with extras. Cleaner every month included.
Hi! My name's Ash and I work in agricultural policy. I'm relocating to Canberra from Sydney for a new job based in Barton. I'm a respectful and considerate housemate who enjoys to have a chat and hang out as it suits. Sharing a meal/drink is also a plus. I'm looking to live with people who are keen to do the same, and who are clean, tidy and considerate. Outside of work I enjoy keeping active, be it going to the gym or going for walks/runs. I enjoy being social. I'm looking forward to making new friends in Canberra. I'll be moving to Canberra either the weekend of the 21st or 28th of July.
Beautiful, spacious and modern three bedroom apartment in great location with a room available for $270 per week. This includes an off-street carspot! Located in the charming National Apartments in Barton, this is a lovely area and is super quiet on weekends. Nice balcony, fully furnished common area, first floor. The room is a single room with shared bathroom arrangement. There is a set of drawers, plenty of cupboard space (built ins with mirrors) and BYO bed. Ideally would suit a busy professional. A lovely sanctuary.
