    Laura

    $220/week35 year old woman

Hey there! My name is Laura. I'm in my 30's, currently live in Melb, and I’m looking at moving back down the coast to be closer to my partner in Anglesea. My timeline can be flexible, possibly Nov/Dec/Jan. Keen to find the right fit. I am a musician and I work part time in the funeral industry while studying counselling online. Sometimes I also help out with my partner’s gardening business in Anglesea. I have a degree in music, I sing and play bass in a few country(ish) bands around Melb, also tour Aus and overseas. I’m very conscious of noise levels, practice bass with headphones and do my best to sing when my housemates are out. Outside of bands I enjoy walks in nature, cooking healthy food, gym, gardening, live music, local markets, foodie adventures with friends or just catching up with housemates over dinner or a movie/tv series. I value my independence and I’m fairly introverted so I’m happy to kinda do my own thing but I prefer a good balance of solitude and connection with housemates. Keeping things clean + tidy is a high priority for me and I aim to be considerate of others needs and boundaries. I am very reliable with rent and bills, and prefer house finances to be clear and transparent. I’m very house proud and love coming home to a peaceful, warm and inviting space to relax. I’m into house plants, big cosy couches and a pretty minimal aesthetic. Ideally, I'm looking for a light filled house, close to nature, a quiet street for a good night’s sleep, somewhere private I can play music (in my bedroom), and hopefully some friendly chats over dinner. Looking for housemates who value consideration and clear communication, and want to contribute to making a comfortable, peaceful home together. If you think we might be a good fit, hit me up and we’ll organise a catch up 🌻

    Paul

    $320/week64 year old man

Hi. My first name is Anthony, but I’m known by my second name - Paul. I’m an active 64 year old currently working an average of three days a week as a Driver/Tour Guide. I also have access to my super, so I’m financially secure. My work is based in Williamstown Nth and it takes me anywhere from 45 mins to an hour or more to get there from my current home in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne, depending on my start time. I’ve long hankered to live by the coast again and figure now is the time, since it’s not going to take much longer to get to and from work from somewhere like Torquay than from where I’m presently at. I’m looking for an unfurnished room in Torquay, Jan Juc, Ocean Grove or Barwon Heads. Provided we get along I’m after a long-term arrangement, but I’m happy to agree on a shorter trial period to start with. My budget is up to around the $300 a week mark, including bills. Ideally I’d like somewhere with off-street parking but that’s not necessarily a deal-breaker. Having my own bathroom would be a bonus but I’m happy to share. I enjoy socialising with housemates on occasion, but prefer to look after myself as far as food prep and the like goes. I’ve lived in share houses for most of my adult life, so I’m very well house-trained. I always clean up in the kitchen as I go and will do my share of other household cleaning tasks without fuss. As far as my age profile goes, I’m happy to share with younger people. I recently completed a degree at La Trobe University along with a cohort of people a lot younger than me. If anything, I reckon I get on better with millennials and Gen Zeds than with my own age group! I think it’s because I’ve always been curious, so I’ve never really become set in my ways. I see life as a never-ending learning experience, and I guess that helps keep me young at heart. Having said that, my partying days are well behind me. I don’t drink, smoke or do drugs. I’m not at all judgemental about any of that stuff as long as it doesn’t interfere with my life, and as long as there’s no smoking in the house (outside is fine). I’m a keen amateur musician and have a background in children’s theatre, having worked as a professional actor/puppeteer for 15 years as part of a varied working life. I write and record songs and music on a computer-based system, but I’m very mindful of housemates when doing so, and happy to work at low volume or with headphones when required. As far as my other interests go, I’m an avid reader. I walk for at least an hour or so every day, and I’ll be spending a lot of free time at the beach. I don’t surf, but I love swimming and body surfing. I like my sport, in particular AFL, cricket and motorbike racing, but I’m no fanatic. I try to keep up with what’s happening in the world. However, like a lot of people right now, I’m pretty jaded by the current political landscape, and would prefer not to get caught up in endless political debates. I guess what I’m saying is that if you have passionate political views you feel compelled to share, I’m probably not going to be your ideal housemate. I’m also not religious; in fact, I’m about as spiritual as a house brick. I have nothing but respect for other people’s religious or spiritual beliefs. All I ask is that people respect my lack thereof in return.

    Fraser

    $180/week21 year old man

Hi my name is Fraser, I’m a 21 year old student that grew up in the country and I moved to Geelong to study engineering at Deakin. I have a retail job and am currently looking for an internship, I love living in Geelong and if I can I’d love to live/rent here after my degree! My favourite hobbies are hiking/backpacking and snow skiing, I love the outdoors and also enjoy playing games with my best mates online when we all have time. Generally I’d say I’m a bit introverted, and between study, games, and personal time I spend a lot of time in my room, I definitely value my personal time, however I still love to socialise and enjoy talking to and meeting new people, needing a bit of that to stay sane. I’d be looking for a home that everyone is friendly and willing to chat, but likewise enjoys having their own space and time too! I’m quite clean especially in communal spaces that would impact others, general cleanliness and pride in the home in these space’s is a must for me, I value feeling at home and comfortable; in saying that a normal buildup of things like dishes, the lawn getting a little longer, ect is normal when under the pump. I’d like to think I take initiative and am proactive in cleaning, taking out the bins, mowing the lawns, and general household chores! I would say I am quite flexible and comfortable adapting to a houses expectations especially as I have 3 years of renting experience where, because of on-campus accommodation, I have lived with 22 other people at one time or another and in a house with 9 others for 2 years. I’d be looking for a long term renting situation as at bare minimum I have to finish the last year of my bachelor in 2026. I’m looking forward to seeing where I end up next! Please don’t hesitate to reach out!
