I adopted a beautiful natured dog-Bombai in East Arnhem Land. I try to keep her mostly outdoors except for bedtime. I enjoy genuine connections with a wide variety of people. I definitely respect another’s space but also up for a chat, lounge room hangs & a cheeky wine. Have lived in share houses before. Love daily walks. In my spare time I like to play a bit of guitar, eat delicious food, paint, swim, love camping & hanging out with friends. I am a tidy person and expect that mutual respect + good communication :) Not looking for a party house but somewhere lovely to call home. I am open to 1-2 housemates. I have just moved up to Darwin after the last 18 months in Alice Springs working with the Aboriginal Legal Service (NAAJA) - still working with them, just a bit of a sea change! I have lived in share houses for years, previously living over in Switzerland and London whilst working within the UN system before relocating back to Australia. I just retuned to Darwin after travelling for the better part of the last 5 weeks, but eager to find a time to connect and see the property - I ready to commit as soon as needed. I am an outgoing by gentle person that prioritises building a home with my housemates rather than co-existing with each other. However, I am definitely someone who values my own space and time and makes an active effort to balance the two. Short version: An easygoing Darwin local who has returned after a few years in Sweden. Looking for a nice place and housemates to call home for the year - open to anything in the 6 - 12 month ballpark. Long version: I'm a 35 y/o ex civil engineer--turned designer, who has just returned home after a few years living in Stockholm. I studied design over there but was about 5 years too late trying to break into tech there, so I've come home! Currently working at a startup here and figuring out what's next, but plan to be in Darwin at least 6 - 12 months (possibly longer, depending how life goes). I'm a very chill housemate to have and have done the whole darwin yopro sharehouse thing a bunch of times - Can confirm I do own birks and enjoy Parap markets, but I don't have any indigenous art to contribute sorry (more than happy to contribute some of my own amateur abstract art though 😅). But yeah, very easygoing, and always up for housemate chats, dinners, doing fun stuff together etc, and also very happy to just do my own thing and give people the space they need (ie just a normal respectful housemate..). I try to keep things somewhat tidy and generally peaceful / liveable around the house, the main thing being just to ensure it's a place everyone is happy to come home to (read: considerate of others, not OCD). Interest-wise, I love abstract painting, photography, music (can contribute two guitars to the household band), weekend markets, Hotel Darwin beers & pool when feeling bogan, beers at Beaver brewery when feeling cool, foreshore runs, getting baited into political conversations that I regret, etc, just the usual. Alright I've said way too much but you get the idea :)
