hey everyone I'm currently looking for a room from the 10th of Jan 2017. Looking for long term 6 months min. 1 year preferred. I'm currently working as a restaurant manager who's looking at taking a year off to do a little bit of studying and hopefully getting into shape haha. I lived in Australia for 17 years and I sound totally like your average Aussie. Nothing but my face screams Chinese. I am very open minded person who don't like to judge so I tend to get on with anyone and everyone. Looking for a nice place to call home. Also will be needing a safe spot to park my car. And I am happy to do language exchange with any Chinese housemates as my Chinese is very average hahaha. Thanks for checking out my ad guys. Have a good one mate! ;)
FURNISHED ROOM WITH PRIVATE BATHROOM IN BRAND NEW UNIT: WALK TO EVERYTHING! 200m to train station, shops and bus--no need for a car! $200/week bills not included or $230 week bills included. Move in date is negotiable for the right person. This fully furnished room is ideal for a university student, and is easily within walking distance to UQ (only 2 kms!). The room is in a central, hard-to-beat location. Brisbane City is a short, 10 minute drive – which is also perfect for professionals. All other amenities are conveniently located 200m away. The room, contained in a modern, recently built and fully secure unit, has built-in wardrobes and its own private bathroom. This bathroom is more than just an ensuite; instead, you’ll have sole access to the unit’s main bathroom which features a bath tub and rain shower head. Toby and I are a peaceful and mature couple who both study at UQ. I am studying a dual degree in Secondary Education/Arts with majors in English and Religion. Because of my love for literature, my bookshelf is jam packed, and you'd be more than welcome to grab a book for a leisurely read! My partner, Toby, has recently graduated his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with an extended major in Philosophy; he will be undertaking a Masters degree next year. We are both hospitality workers, I am a qualified barista and waitress, and Toby, a bartender, so good drinks are our speciality! We are looking for a like-minded, pet-friendly individual to join our lovely household which includes our (almost) 12 year old Shih Tzu Poodle X, Puffy – the main tenant! Puffy is impeccably trained and extremely friendly. She loves nothing more than lounging and grazing around the house with the hope of receiving pats. All in all, we are well-seasoned housemates who are searching for an trustworthy, tidy and independent person. The unit speaks for itself, and the location is absolutely perfect for a variety of people. Power, water and stable internet (up to 150GB/month for your personal use) can be included in the rent. Oh, and internet speed is very fast – up to 100mb/s! Please don’t hesitate to message me if you have any queries about the room, the unit or ourselves. Hope to hear from you soon, Chelsea.
Hey! We're a bunch of UQ undergrads who are looking for a 4th person to live with next year, close to uni and public transport. We don't party too much (getting close to finishing our degrees so studying takes up most of our lives) but we're always up for some sneaky drinks and we do like the bachelorette (rip courtney) and cool dog group and cooking and gymming and donald trump memes. Between the three of us, we already have plenty of the furniture a house needs (from previous sharehouses), but we'll always welcome any fab decor additions such as nice fake plants or funky rugs, but yes hit us up if you're interested! We would prefer to move after new years, but we're all really flexible and we can always sort something that'll suit everyone :)
Hi! My name is Kieran. I'm a 36 year old professional working male looking to share with one other professional working person (sorry no couples). OK so here's the deal... I'm looking to move from my current area as I want to be closer to the city. I did some exploring around Brisbane suburbs (without a car - as I don't have one now but will look to buy in next 6 months) and found that the Nundah/Toombul area best fits my requirements. I like the fact that everything is right there close (train, shops, cafes etc). If I can't find anything suitable in Nundah/Toombul. I will also consider the areas of Sherwood, Oxley, Fairfield, Toowong, Indooroopilly and Michelton (which meet most of my criteria). So please give me a shout if you have something in those areas! I'm very reliable and rent and bills will always be paid on time or in advance. I will supply you with references from my current landlord and previous landlords (if required). I have a stable income. I do freelancing work from home and have done this for the last 5 years. Please note I only work between the hours of 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. I am not loud but rather quiet (if you are home at that time). I'm not on the phone all the time as most of my work is writing based (proofreading/copy-editing). I don't mind if you have pets as long as they are well behaved. LOOKING FOR: - 2 Bedroom place with decent size bedroom and living area. NOT LOOKING FOR: - Place with Lots of lawn. A little bit might be ok. In summer the maintenance just becomes too much. - Party House or Noisy One. I need the peace and quiet most of the time. ESSENTIALS: - Must be 12 minute walk max to train station. Buses are good but prefer trains. - Room must fit a standard size desk (which I have). - Air conditioning. Ideally in all rooms. I understand it's expensive and I don't plan to use it much but I need it there for those warm Brisbane summer nights. - Reliable and Fast (doesn't have to be lightning!) Internet Connection. My income depends on this. At my current property there has been problems with the connection at times which is a real negative. To summarise: I'm looking for reliability (uptime) over speed (but of course the speed must be reasonable). - Parking (either reliable street parking or even better lock up garage). - Partly Furnished (TV, Fridge/Freezer, Washing Machine at least). I don't mind chipping in for other stuff. At the moment for my bedroom I have a standard size desk and can get access to a queen size bed if the room doesn't have one. BONUS: - If the room has an ensuite or separate bathroom it would be good. - Ceilings fans are always good (in addition to air con). BIT ABOUT ME: - I like the gym, walks near the water, tennis, football, nature, travelling, reading, writing, self-improvement, online marketing, restaurants, socialising, and coffee. - I'm a social person but I'm definitely more on the quiet side. I'm not big on TV at all so don't expect me to join you on the couch watching it. I don't mind the news and a bit of sport though. I just find you learn more by reading. - I do all of my socialising with friends outside of the flat/property but don't mind if you have people over. - I'm not a vegetarian. I cook my own meals as have my own diet I need to follow. - I'm straight and single currently. - I'm open to living with people of all cultures and sexuality. - I have lived and worked in Sydney, London and Melbourne previously. Please give me a shout if you have something that will fit my main criteria or if you have any questions for me. I haven't listed my phone number but I'm very responsive to messages. I'm flexible on the move in date as I currently have a place where I can leave at any time. Thanks for your time. Kieran
Hi, my name is Brigitte and I'm looking to join a share house, preferably a girls only one. I'm 20 years old and currently studying event management at UQ, whilst working in retail part time. I'm looking for a place near a train station and near UQ as I dont have a car and like to make trips down to Gold Coast quite frequently via train. I'm a non smoker and am currently living in a share house on the north side, so I totally get the whole share house, cleaning and respect space thing. But I'm super friendly and chatty so am also looking to make some friends! As I'm originally from NSW so still growing my social circle in Brissy. I would prefer a room with a bed already included, I have some of my own furniture but not a whole lot, so if ya have a bed or the room is already furnished then sweeeet! but if not thats not the end of the world either :) Thanks!!
We are looking for a housemate to move into an unfurnished bedroom in a fantastic old Queenslander in Fairfield. The house is close to the Eleanor Schonell (Green) Bridge, so a short walk to UQ. It's also very close to Dutton Park Train Station, shopping centres and some great parks. The room has polished wood flooring, has a ceiling fan, a built-in wardrobe and wide corner windows. The house is already home to Jay and Bree (a couple), and Kataryna. We also have three ducks (yes ducks). We are all in our early to mid-twenties, very friendly and easy going. Jay works in marketing, and is mad about football/soccer. Bree works at IGA, and loves craft and animals. Kataryna is a bit of a gamer, and even works at EB Games. We would be looking for someone who is clean and tidy, respectful of privacy but also happy to socialise and share a meal or drinks. Ideally our new housemate would be in their twenties, and either work full time or study. The house has a cool back patio and a low maintenance backyard for entertaining and relaxing. Main kitchen and living areas are fully furnished. There is a lockup double garage under the house with plenty of storage. House interior has been recently repainted and the wooden floors have been polished. If you think this is for you then get in touch! Address is available on request. You're welcome to come view the house and meet us. Rent includes unlimited internet but not electricity (split equally).
Unique comfortable studio with excellent natural lighting, bush and garden right by, yet internally very private, with ample storage, huge bathroom providing excellent amenity, with a fresh, ideal kitchen and laundry arrangement. All bills including Internet, electricity, and water included, as well, to keep it simple. It is in a great location for all public transport, with trains and buses right nearby leading to all Unis, the City or the Coasts, a shopping centre with large supermarket and many small shops a couple of minutes walk away, or an historic suburban shopping strip 10 minutes walk away, with a variety of coffee shops, but all within very easy walking distance. Easy access to the City, Fortitude Valley, University of Queensland, QUT via train or bus, with many parks and the Brisbane river also easy walking nearby.
Hi, my names Jessie. I'm a really easy going 19 year old girl. I am clean, tidy and respectful, looking for someone alike to live with. I'm moving to Brisbane to study so would love to get a room where I can do my own thing but also hang out from time to time. Would love for the people I move in with to become friends, not just roommates. Send me a message on here if you're interested in finding out more about me/look for a place together.
Decent sized bedroom available to move into now with negotiable price. Fully furnished with lots of room to store things in, just need your suitcase and your own bedding . Well hi there! I am looking for one roommate or a place with one roommate around or close to UQ. I am a busy person whos hardly home due to work and uni but when i am i am friendly and love to binge watch all the tv. I'm an avid gym member and runner, though time limits that, and i love to cook, but my job causes me to hardly be home during dinner. I am a waitress, babysitter and full time uni student looking for someone CLEAN as i have had negative previous roommates. I am not by any means a neat freak, but a hygienic environment is required. If you like mug brownies/cakes you will love my endless supply of flavours.
Sharing a property with 2 girls, fan in room and air con in the lounge room, all rooms with built-ins. Lots of space and a dog will be living here too soon. We are looking for someone relaxed and social, just like us (also feel free to have your own time too) we lead pretty busy lives :).
My name is Grant. I am a 48year old. I am a fairly quiet & reserved type of person. I am friendly & respectful of others but I do tend to keep to myself. I am neat and tidy, and I do clean up after myself. I work full time in South Brisbane. I don't drink, I don't smoke and I don't party or do drugs of any kind. I am fairly fit because I do a lot of walking and skating (roller & skateboard). I try and get to the skating rink at least twice a week.......more if I am able :) BTW I am gay if that matters at all. I am looking for a studio, granny flat or one bedroom flat preferably within 10kms of the city with easy access to public transport (train & bus). I don't have any furniture so a furnished place would be nice. I would also need internet (preferably wifi) because I spend a lot of time online. Air-conditioning is nice as well. The last couple of places that I have rented have had everything (power, wifi etc.) included in the rent & even though it probably costs a little more I don't mind cause it's easier. If you have a place that you think would suit me then please don't hesitate to contact me.
Would you like to live right near the river on a quiet street in a cute share house? Do you need to be close to the University of Queensland Campus? What about public transport and decent cafes? Would you like to live with two girls in their mid-late twenties who have two super cute dogs? The house is in Fairfield and is a quick 3km bike ride across the bridge to the UQ campus. There is access to the Brisbane River right over the road with plenty of recreational areas along the banks. Public transport is also handy with a bus stop at our door! The house has 3 rooms and 1.5 bathrooms. There is plenty of space to park your car. Your room will be a corner room with plenty of light and a ceiling fan. Your room is unfurnished with a built in, but the rest of the house will be fully equipped. You'll be able to fit a double bed and a desk in your room with room to spare. We would like to find someone that is friendly, easy going, loves dogs, pays their rent on time and is happy to hang out as a house when we are all free. We like to share a drink when we aren't both busy and we like to find activities to do on the weekends. We would like this to be a homely environment. Please no party animals. *Sorry no more pets **If you have a washing machine feel free to bring that along otherwise we can provide one.
High quality 3 storey Townhouse, Fibre network, all you need is your Linen & Luggage. 80metres to Fairfield Station 5min train ride to QUT, 10min bike ride to UQ. Fairfield Garden shopping centre 80 metres away. Huge living area with front and rear balcony, Gas cooking, this is real living, no hassle all inclusive rate.
**About us** Cate 20, is a makeup artist currently working for MAC and has sweet discounts at Myer. Perri 22, has already moved in with her boyf so room is available ASAP. Sara 21, is moving in with her bf, her room will be available mid-late Jan. We also have two cuddly cats, Louie is about 8 years old and Luna is almost 1. **Our house** The house was newly renovated in approximately 1976 - we love it's quirky character & charm though! It's an enormous old Queenslander with high ceilings and huge open plan living, gas cooking and slightly questionable Lino choices. There are two enclosed verandas which are unfurnished and can be used for storage or you could turn them into a study or something, whatever floats your boat. Maybe you have a ping pong table? Or like five sofas for some reason? Or a weird collection of troll dolls you need to store? (we don't judge!) No worries, bring them along cos we have plenty of space! We also have two garden spaces which can be used for veggies or whatever you like (we attempted a herb garden but have to admit we are newbies to gardening, RIP Basil.) **Bedroom 1, avail. now** $140/week bills separate Is 3.4m x 3m, French doors onto an enclosed veranda and polished wood floors. Power outlets on both sides of the room is awesome. Fits a queen bed, desk and standing cupboard easily. **Bedroom 2, avail. mid Jan** $140/wk bills separate Also 3.4m x 3m, French doors onto enclosed veranda as well, and lino floors (better insulated). Fits queen bed, cupboard and desk also. **Some other stuff** Either room can be furnished with a queen mattress and large desk for additional $10/wk (otherwise we are just going to sell this stuff). Everyone should be an approved tenant so that bond can be allocated properly with RTA. Fairfield Gardens is a 2 minute walk (Coles/fruit shop/chemist/Snap fitness), Slinky Espresso coffee shop is directly across the road from us, as well as a sushi train and Liquorland if you are so inclined. 2 minute walk to the 196 bus which runs every 15 minutes to the city, 4 minute walk to Fairfield Train Station.
