Looking to move end of August. Very busy until next week so I might not reply, but I will get back to you as soon as I can. Hi, I'm Rick. After having to move back to the country for a short while in 2023, I'm struggling finding my own rental property in Melbourne. I'm currently boarding in the northeast with terrific house mates, but it's too far out (takes me almost 2 hours to get home currently) and I want to be closer to the city for work and socials . - I'm looking for a home, not a party house, where I have space to recharge mentally and physically. Preferably with a study space or large bedroom as I work from home two days a week and also writing/studying. - I've shared in the past with all ages and backgrounds and know the drill with respecting personal space, keeping common areas clean, putting bins out, noise, etc -- being an adult! Happy to provide references and a police check. - I love reading (I own a lot of books). I'm also a writer plus learning to draw. Love the arts, history archaeology, SFF and games (yes, Dungeons & Dragons, I can be a nerd), travel/culture, watching Josh Gates's Expedition Unknown or Bettany Hughes, films, dessert, all the good stuff in life. Be great to share with other creatives but no deal breaker. Might also be studying ancient Greek history and planning a big trip next year. - Week days I'm out for the 9-5 work grind, gym in evenings a few times a week and maybe out for a board games night. I can be a hermit working on a novel, but I'm always up for a chat about the work day and life. Oh, and sunny Sunday motorcycle rides for an ice cream. - Very allergic to perfumed candles, incense, etc. Like a vampire with sunlight. - I'm also a cat whisperer -- lost my soul cat of 15 years, so if you need to go on holiday I can definitely look after kitty. I get along with dogs, rabbits, fish, birds, reptiles, spiders, and insects too. - I'm a non-smoker, no vaping, and prefer the same. If you're an anti-vaxxer, please don't message me. - I have a motorcycle I ride for commuting and to get an ice cream on sunny Sundays. Will need off-street parking. - I'd like to be on the lease or at least see it -- be fair with the rent please, too many people taking advantage of the housing crisis. - Just looking for like-minded people to share a home with in these crazy times. - I'm over 40 but honestly don't feel it. No girlfriend or messy divorce, in my Obi-Wan Kenobi phase for a while and just chilling in my own space.

    $300/week24 year old man

Hi there! My name's Matt, a 24-year-old software engineer making the exciting move across the ditch from Wellington to Melbourne. I've just wrapped up a fantastic three-year role as a DevOps Engineer where I had the fantastic opportunity to build a company's core product from the ground up. I'm now relocating to kickstart the next chapter of my career here in Melbourne's tech scene. Most importantly for you: I've planned this move meticulously. I have a substantial savings buffer (over $15k NZD) specifically to cover rent, bond, and all living expenses for several months while I land the right role. I'm treating my job search like a full-time job, so I'm financially secure and reliable. Happy to provide proof of funds to put your mind at ease! As a housemate, I'm very clean, tidy, and respectful of other people's space and schedules. I know the importance of pulling my weight and keeping shared areas great for everyone. When I'm not job hunting, you'll usually find me pretty relaxed. I'm a massive F1 fan (Forza Ferrari!), and I'm keen to adopt some local teams – already leaning towards Melbourne Victory and the Storm, and I'm ready for someone to try and explain the rules of AFL to me for the tenth time. I'm also into cycling, exploring new cafes, and all things tech. I'm looking for a friendly and stable home base for an initial period of 3-6 months. My plan is to get established, land a great role in my field, and then find my own long-term apartment. This makes me an ideal candidate for a sublet or a house that's happy with a fixed-term stay. My budget is around 200− 400 AUD per week, and I arrive in Melbourne on August 16th, ready to inspect and move in. If you think I'd be a good fit for your place, I'd love to hear from you!
