Hey! I'm Gideon, 23 years old, from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. From September to December/January 2025, I’ll be studying at UNSW as an exchange student. I study History and European Studies at the University of Amsterdam, and after that, I’m planning to travel around Australia! I’m pretty easy-going and really looking forward to making the most of my time in Sydney. I don’t like staying cooped up in my room, and I’d much rather be out playing games, doing sports, or just enjoying other activities. Back home I've worked in healthcare, restaurants (pizziolo) and general stores, but I'm currently working as a bartender, so I love partying and dancing. Besides I'm also, of course, a student, so while I enjoy a bit of comfort, I definitely don’t need much luxury. For example, I love cooking or joining in on group meals, picnicking on the beach, or going along with whatever creative idea comes up. But, while I am of course on exchange, I am also looking for a part-time job, as I still need to make ends meet. About the travelling, I like to keep it adventurous: I’ve hitchhiked through the entire Balkans with strangers and traveled across Central America using mainly local buses (Chickenbus). So, I’m always open to new challenges and won't complain much! And just so you know: I can also be an early bird and I'm not just a party animal! I enjoy playing football, padel, squash, and more (no pressure though!), and I like to read, chat and study all the time! So sleep deprivation is something I've never heard of :) Excited for what's ahead and if this sounds like a good match, I'm happy to get in touch!
