The apartment is beautifully appointed and is located in the Bentley Suites and faces Fitzroy Street in Forrest. It’s fully furnished, aside from your room. It’s a spacious, light and airy 2 bedroom plus study type of set up with a great sized open-plan living area. It’s on the 2nd floor and is very comfortable with timber floors throughout. There is also a great balcony facing a nice quiet street. The Bentley Suites also boasts a pool surrounded by gardens for the use of all tenants. The room to be rented has its own private large ensuite attached and is a very good size with large built-in wardrobes. Also there is unlimited internet available in addition to the rent. All in all it’s an awesome apartment and home. You will also have one of the two underground secure car parks and there is also off the street parking right next to the door to our stairs for visitors, very handy indeed. It goes without saying that it’s within walking distance to everything in Kingston and Manuka.
I'm 26, male and a chartered accountant that also enjoys music and socialising. I own a gym in Fyshwick and compete in powerlifting. I'm easy to get along with, rarely home during the week as my job and gym take up a lot of my time. Pretty tidy and live simply.
I am a 32 year old Consultant moving to Canberra for work for up to 12 months from late Jan - Feb 2017. I am married with two kids although my family is going to be remaining in Brisbane while I'm in Canberra. I'll be working across Canberra and Brisbane projects so plan to be in Brisbane up to 2 weeks a month (although this is not guaranteed). Easy going, enjoy fitness. Existing internet access is a must.
Hey, I'm John - I'm a jaunty character, who hails from Adelaide. I've just started work as a systems engineer ready for Canberra Phase 2. I pluck the six-string and love beers in sunshine. I'm rather tidy and very organised. I'm social and love meeting new faces, and then subsequently getting to know their names.
My name is Navina and I've recently moved from Sydney to Canberra and work full-time in Acton. I am a relaxed person, clean and tidy, sociable, enjoy a glass of wine of two but also respect other people's personal space. I'm very easy to get along with and am a lover of animals, nature, road trips and just chilling out with friends. Looking forward to hearing from you!
Hi everyone, My name is Ilse, 27 years old, working in government in Canberra until 28 February. My current lease will run out by the end of January, so I'm looking for a short term housing solution for the month of February, until I have to go back to The Netherlands! I work fulltime and I'm easygoing, know how to cook, don't listen to loud music and will be out a lot! Looking for a place with or without flatmates, I could also house sit for you and your pets, no problem! Love to hear from you! Best, Ilse
My partner and I are looking for somewhere to live in the inner suburbs of Canberra, within about 5km of the CBD. We will both be working full time (in Barton and Fyshwick) and are looking for somewhere close to shops and things to do. are originally from the South Coast but have been studying and working in the ACT for 4 years now. We enjoy spending time at home relaxing, finding new places to eat around town, and being outside when the weathers nice. We'd love a friendly share house where the housemates are open to socialising, but are also respectful of space. We are both very clean, tidy and organised people.
Howdy, IT professional, from Brisbane, FIFO, looking for good house to share. Am house trained and a happy chappie. Enjoy getting down to the beach and camping (Tathra, Bermagui) on the weekends I don't go home. Long term contract, enjoys social time and also respectful and enjoys quiet times as well. Looking for air conditioning, ensuite preferred but not essential and under cover parking for my motorbike.
I'm from Sydney but I'm moving to Canberra in 2017 to start postgrad study at ANU - I'm flexible with my moving date. I'm a mature individual, and I keep everything (but my sock drawer) tidy. I'm easy to get along with and I'm always up for a chat/being social, but am happy to keep to myself in the house if that's the go. I love sports, particularly netball, and am looking to get involved in a new club/team once I move. I'm a music fan (the non-snobby kind), and love to attend big concerts as well as local gigs. I'm open to different locations, though as a Sydneysider who has spent her life traveling and commuting to everything - I'd love to take advantage of the size of Canberra and live somewhere central.
Hello! Moving down from Brisbane in early January to start a new APS job/ study part-time at ANU. Ideally looking for a house that is more than a financial transaction. Someone/People to hang out and explore Town with etc. But also totally understand those people who want to respectively sit in silence in their own rooms reading Harry Potter with a face masque. In terms of living together, I have lived in pretty much every type of share house situation now. So sharing chores, communal cleaning and respect are ingrained values. I am flexible on: - Start Date, - Length of Stay, - Room Type, - Bathroom situation and - Suburb. Let me know if you have any questions! Will/
Hey! I'm Astrid. I'm moving to Canberra from Brisbane in early January to start working full-time in Parliament House. I've just completed my university degree, studying IT, and am super keen to pursue this new opportunity. Don't let that little '20' next to my name fool you, I think the fact that I'm moving to Canberra for work at my age should say enough about the kind of person I am. I'm a hard worker, though I'm also up for a few casual drinks or meals after work, but I am by no means the partying and clubbing type. I'm really looking forward to having more time to get out and about and exercise, so if you're into rock climbing, road tripping, kayaking, bike riding or whatever else then that's great! I'll be heading down to Canberra on the 3rd of January, but I've generously been given 3 weeks temporary accommodation by my department, so I'm sorted for somewhere to live until the 24th. However, I would really like to spend that time searching for a new place to call home, and would love to come and check out any places or catch up for a couple drinks to meet any new potential housemates. I'm not particular on the length of time, but I'm not looking for short-term accommodation. 4 to 12 months + would be great!
I'm moving to Canberra from Sydney for a position in a government grad program, starting early February. I'm looking to live around Kingston, though flexible with surrounding suburbs. I'm super friendly, and like to bake so there will always be food around. I'm quite active, and I really love to dance. I want flatmates I can hang with and binge watch tv shows. If this sounds like you send me a message!
Hey, I'm Sasha. Looking to rent a room with ensuite or start a share house somewhere in the inner north or south, preferably in an apartment. Easygoing and friendly, with an empathetic personality. Open-minded and nonjudgmental. INFP on the Myers-Briggs. I enjoy helping others and have been told that I am too nice for my own good. Enjoy meeting new people and socialising but also appreciate alone time. I work full time and studying Software Development at UC. I was born in Russia but moved to Australia as a toddler and grew up in Canberra. Enjoy a neat household and actively participate in household chores. Have a few hard drives worth of HD movies and TV shows. Enjoy reading books and listen to a lot or different music. I am a smoker but never smoke inside, and respectful of others when I am having a smoke. Enjoy cooking and happy to cook for household once in a while. Love animals so if you have a pet thats a bonus. I am one of the top rated Uber drivers in Canberra (4.9+ with just under 2000 trips) with many positive, and some hilarious, comments reflecting my personality and caring nature. This means housemates get free trips whenever I’m available but also means I would need to park my car somewhere, preferably undercover but happy with street/off-street parking as long as no chance of a fine. Hope to hear from you soon.
I work for Telstra so get some benefits there. Am organised in terms of automating the house bills, rent and all that jazz.. Have all (good) furniture required of the house. For fun I do stuff with mates, PC or board games, gym, pub, restaurants! amongst other things. I am from Vic originally but moved to ACT area about 5 years ago.
Am very easy going and easy to get along with. Enjoy a good glass of wine with dinner after work. I love watching sport of any kind that is on. Am very social but can respect people's space and privacy when needed.
I'm a quiet, private professional person looking to get settled in Canberra before I find my own place. I go to bed early and get up early most days for a run or a bike ride. I'm moving from Darwin to start work in Canberra on January 16. My party days are behind me, but I like good conversation.
Hi there! Looking out for a nice place to live in Canberra towards the end of the year or start of next year. I'll be starting a new job at the Treasury as a policy analyst in February. The house ideally needs to be semi or fully furnished with a parking spot for my car (can be off-street). The room must be well-lit, and can be furnished or unfurnished. I'm a positive, friendly and honest person. I like reading, travelling, and yoga, and also like to keep active by swimming and running. I'd also like to get into cycling, and I'm looking forward to some trips to the snow! My main interests are political economics and international development. I'm quite an easy-going person to live with, and I like to keep things clean and tidy. My partner is living in Adelaide and would occasionally come and visit every 1-2 months on the weekend, so I need to live with housemates who are relaxed in that regard. We don't tend to hang around the house anyway. I'm looking for housemates who I can occasionally spend time with in the evenings and on the weekends. Ideally, my housemates would enjoy having a good chat about the world, and have a good sense of humour. Cleanliness is a must. Please shoot me an e-mail if you have something suitable.
Working 9-5 in the city so somewhere in the area would be ideal. Drinks tea and coffee in equal measure, will recycle till the end of days. Can cook about 12 things but willing to try new things (i promise i won't poison you). Enjoy playing sports some evenings and watching it others. I keep lying to myself that I like running but will do it on occasion.
Looking to see what currently available and if there are some people out there roughly around my age looking for a room mate! Okay to move out at any time, just trying to find the right people to live with. Prefer to have the master bedroom with ensuite if possible as I don't particularly like sharing bathrooms which comes from previous times with room mates being grubs (the worst!) Not looking to live too far away from the city or Belconnen and not looking to live on the Southside either, inner south is okay but nothing further (sorry peeps) I work full time as a PA and enjoy sports, online gaming, music, gigs, hanging out at home and good food and drink! I am in a relationship and would like to live together but I know not all places have space for couples but keen to see what's available if not that's totally cool! Please feel free to message me if I suit what you are looking for in a flat mate :)
I’m an early 20's male working in public relations and communications, moving from Brisbane to Canberra in early February for a grad job in government. I’m looking for a place to share with other young professionals or students who are clean, considerate and up for the occasional chat. I’m outgoing and enjoy socialising, but am also respectful of others privacy. I’d prefer to pay no more than $250 p/w inclusive of bills - although I am willing to pay more for a private ensuite - with a 6-month to 1-year lease. I’ll be working in Tuggeranong so something on the south side, but still relatively central would be ideal. I love going out on weekends, travelling, eating out, seeing live music etc. If you think I’d be a good fit for your share house or want to find a place, let me know!
I am a law graduate from Melbourne and I'm moving to Canberra In late January to commence a full time APS graduate program. I'm hoping to be able to move in with some fellow graduates or people in their early to mid twenties but I'm pretty flexible. I'm an easy going and sociable guy and given that I'll be new in Canberra and keen to meet new people, I'd love to live with outgoing people who enjoy raving parties as well as laid back Sunday sessions or group dinners every once in a while. I'll be working full time so I won't be home much but I can cook and I pride myself on my tidiness. I'll also have a car with me which I'd be more than happy to share to make life easier. In terms of hobbies I really enjoy skiing and rugby league and, as a native Queenslander, you'll find me completely decked out in maroons gear during the state of origin season! I also enjoy the gym and the outdoors. Due to my workplace being in Barton, I'm hoping to secure a property on the Southside preferably around Kingston or Griffith. Ideally I'd like to spend $250 per week, however if the property/people are top notch then I'd be happy to increase up $280-300 per week. Looking forward to hearing from you!
Dearest future flatmates, I'm moving to the nation's capital for work (journo) and am keen to bunker down with some like-minded souls. Ideally, I'm looking for a sharehouse full of young professionals who work hard, but still enjoy a Friday knockoff/midweek red. I’m a Brisvegas boy originally but have spent my post uni years working in Victoria. I'm 25, enjoy a decent movie, page-turner or chingwag, but my first love is sport and getting outdoors (keen snowboarder). I've been lucky enough to do more than my fair share of travel and tend to spend my annual leave exploring somewhere new. I only know one person in Canberra so am keen to meet some new people from all walks of life and will likely play some social sport. What can I bring to the house? - I've lived in sharehouses in Australia and overseas since I was 18 and understand what makes for good vibes and when people need their space. - I make a pretty deadly chicken-bacon carbonara and prefer house cookups over solo couch meals, but appreciate the latter has its place. - On rare occasions I have been known to provide that tricky trivia night answer after pulling out some random (albeit mostly useless) fact. - I can be talked into trying most things, especially new food or checking out gigs of up-and-coming musicians/comedians. Don't hesitate to shoot me questions or hit up any past/present people I've shared a roof with. Cheers potential roomies, ET
Hi there, My name is Nelson. I'm 21 years old and have recently completed a degree in International Studies at Deakin, Melbourne. I am seeking a room for a 3 month period as I will be undertaking an internship with the Australian Institute of International Affairs in Canberra. I'm friendly, easy going and always up for a chat or a laugh. I will probably be focused on the internship predominantly, but am more than happy spending time with housemates and relaxing. I am attentive, clean and respectful, and mindful of others in their own space. I would preferably like a furnished room, or one with a bed provided at least, mainly so I don't have to cart all my stuff up from Victoria. So please get in touch if you have a room available. Thank you.
Hey ! I'm French and I'm moving to Canberra for an internship beginning of January. I have been studying in Sydney for a year. I like traveling, hiking, politics, contemporary art, cycling, good food and drinks with friends. I am a clean and respectful flatmate. I would like to find a flat where everyone can have his private space but also sometimes where we can have dinner or casual drinks ! Looking for a flat with a good atmosphere. See you !
Hi I am Matt. I am a 24 year old non-smoker looking for a place in South Canberra. I am working full time in the city at the moment, and have a job with the Public Service starting next February so I would love to live close to my new work. I have lived with both male and female roommates. I am very friendly and relaxed, and would love to live with someone who is up for sharing the occasional meal/drink after a long day. I am quite neat and clean, and I am happy to put anyone who is interested in living with me in touch with my last couple of roommates.
looking for a place to stay for a year or longer sooner rather than later if possible recently finished school where I boarded
Hi my name is Michele (Italian for Michael!) and I will be moving to Canberra in January from Melbourne to commence a Graduate Program within the APS. I am an easygoing, friendly, and considerate person who respects privacy. I enjoy chats about politics, science, and global affairs. I enjoy playing sport, especially soccer. Finding a running or swimming partner would be a bonus! I am a Seinfeld and X-Files nerd so I look forward to discussing how George and Scully are two of the best characters in TV. In terms of contributing furniture, I would have a couch/sofa set, tv and some other items if needed. I am looking to live with 1 or 2 housemates if possible, or to also start a teamup for anyone else willing to start a new sharehouse. I am looking to move towards the end of January 2017.
I am from Melbourne. I am finance manager for a non profit organisation. Now I have an opportunity to work for Department of Finance at One Canberra Avenue. I need a place to stay from 9th of December. I am mature and considerate person. I also want to take this opportunity to meet some new friends in Canberra. I am house trained and I have been house sharing for more than 10 years.
Embassy intern staying in Canberra for the next 6 months, and have been living in East Asia for the last two years. I am fine with pets, especially quokka bears. I'll be quite busy during the week, but hope to find some easygoing flatmates that would be up for dinner, hiking-trips or beers once in a while. I'm a big fan of keeping common rooms tidy and clean, and your room is your business unless suspicious stuff starts to grow or kitchen equipment mysteriously disappears. I'm ok with a party at home once in awhile, but prefer a majority of quiet weekends. I am looking to share a flat with young professionals or graduate students in their mid twenties or older. Cheers!
I'm an APS grad and my girlfriend and I are both good cooks, love movie nights and drinking tea. We are relatively quiet and neat but enjoying sharing meals with our housemates. We have both lived out of home before and bring a lot of furniture and appliances to our next household. I am originally from Launceston and we are making the move from melbourne for work. Our hobbies include gaming, yoga, gardening, baking and searching for the best Japanese food in town.
Beautiful, spacious and modern three bedroom apartment in great location with a room available for $240 per week. Located in the charming National Apartments in Barton, this is a lovely area and is super quiet on weekends. Nice balcony, fully furnished, first floor. The room is a double room with shared bathroom arrangement. There is a set of drawers and plenty of cupboard space (built ins with mirrors). Ideally would suit busy professionals able to share. A lovely sanctuary.
