IMPORTANT: Listed suburbs ONLY of which Rhodes is my first preference. Please DO NOT message me telling me that you have properties in other random suburbs as I would have listed those if I wanted to live there. Thanks.
I'm going to risk writing an essay as I am looking for a long-term living arrangement and have yet to find someone like-minded to share living space with. I am a British/Australian who grew up in Sydney's Eastern suburbs but in a culture where Asian domestic style is the norm (shoes off inside, lots of rice being cooked, okay with kimchi in the fridge etc). I am currently working at a bank but I have just completed my PhD so am now looking to return to my previous job as an ESL teacher or in the entertainment industry but am continuing at my present job whilst I wait. Other than that I love dancing, karaoke, eating out and watching videos online. I'm an extrovert so looking for someone friendly and fun to live with, but not too loud or crazy.
I would prefer to live with someone Korean, as I am studying for my TOPIK 2, so I need all the practice I can get! Age doesn't bother me, but I would prefer someone who keeps things reasonably neat and tidy (and doesn't leave lights and aircon on, laundry in the living area and washed dishes in the drying rack on a permanent basis or expect me to be their mom and put everything away for them). But also prefer someone who doesn't freak out if the stovetop isn't sparkling - so in-between level I guess.
Can't do ground floor or dark cul-de-sacs as I do go out late on Saturday nights and prefer to feel safe on the trip home and I lock the door 100% of the time when I leave so prefer front door that locks when it closes rather than having to turn the key - Korean door keypads are perfect but I gather they're not allowed in Sydney for some weird reason :( Same for underfloor undol in the winter but now I'm dreaming!
Not keen on introverts or most people my age - as they seem not to be very social - I would like someone at my life-stage rather than (necessarily) my age so post-grad and looking to live their life to the full but without crashing and burning out. Although it would absolutely be cool to board with someone my age who still enjoyed life rather than being scared of a good quality night out clubbing and having fun. No couples, kids or dogs please - the first are too dramatic, the second too messy and loud and the third too messy, smelly and loud haha. Cats would be amazing - I don't own one anymore but only because I have been living in different cities and countries while I was studying and didn't want to put a cat through that after mine passed away. I love animals - just when it comes to living with them, defs a cat person.
Also I eat meat and dairy and a fair amount of pork and I do drink when I go out (though not much - I'm a lightweight) so would prefer to live with someone without dietary restrictions against any of these things.
