Hello! I'm moving to Canberra from Brisbane for 3 months for work. I just finished uni, studying economics. As a housemate, I like to socialise with the occasional wine, but definitely am not a party gal. I don't smoke or have any pets, but I do have a boyfriend who would visit occasionally (he lives in Brisbane, so not that often). I enjoy keeping a clean home so if you do too that would be perfect. As i'm only coming down for a little while i really need the room to be furnished, with a bed at least. Let's chat!
The property is in a quiet street opposite a reserve. All rooms have large windows and view of the garden outside. The house is quiet, relaxing and very chilled out. The house has ducted heating and evaporative cooling in all rooms for summer. The bedrooms are furnished and linen and towels are provided. The only house rules are that shoes are not to be warn inside the house, and to respect peoples privacy and space. I do enjoy a chat with my house guests and to share a wine, cooking and meals. But also happy for guests who want to keep to themselves. There is a large backyard and large vegetable garden if your interested in growing your own food. Outdoor Storage space is also available. and undercover space for parking bikes or motorbikes. A desk for study can be arranged if needed. There is a bbq and covered outdoor entertaining area for the warmer months in canberra overlooking the garden. There is a full training studio where i work from home in, and would be happy to share some training equipment or space depending on your training needs and level of experience. It is a short walk to local shops where there is a supermarket, chemist, cafe, take away, hairdresser, dentist and service station. Short distance also to Bruce Stadium, The AIS and University Canberra (UC).
Hi, my name is Jade. I am 21, moving from Perth Western Australia for a job in Canberra! I am really social and friendly, however I will be studying and working full time, so I probably won't be at the house all that much! I am an easy-going, friendly and clean housemate, hit the gym a fair bit, but I'm also happy to have a Friday night pizza and beer, and hang out with housemates. Alternatively, I am also more than happy to just do my own thing, but would prefer to live with people who love a chat, might want to come on a road trip, or give advice to help me learn to ski over weekends in winter! :) I enjoy a balance between work, study and the rest, and love being active. I know no-body in Canberra. Not even a mutual friend of a friend, so I am pretty desperate to find a room from this website. I am driving across from Perth on boxing day, and hope to move in by the 1st of Jan. I have no furniture but I am keen to buy my own once I get over, so no stress if the room is not furnished. Happy to live with guys/ girls/ older/ younger. Shoot me a text if I would be someone that you would like to live with.
The house is located within walking distance to UC, Institute of Sport, Institute of Technology (Bruce campus); 10 minutes of driving to ANU, City center, Australian Catholic University. Kaleen Coles is within the walking distance. Renovated kitchen and bathroom. Ducted heating. Unlimited internet included in rent. Spacious backyard with veranda and barbecue. The room and the house are fully furnished: new refrigirator, washing machine, etc. The room has a lock.
Fantastic share house in one of the best streets in Kaleen, Nice views over the mountains and close to shops, Canberra University, Belconnen and AIS. The bus stop is at the end of the street so you can be in the city or ANU in 15mins, Belconnen in 5 mins or ride your bike to Canberra Uni in less than 10mins. A supermarket with cafe's and a large gym is about 100m away. **Please note, Garden maintenance is included, (free) so you don't have to!** The house itself is beautifully designed; it is a two story house over three levels. It has a massive lounge/dining with fireplace and open plan kitchen on the top level. The second level has a large second lounge room with fireplace and the bottom level has two bedrooms (one rented) a separate bathroom and toilet with a large laundry. The house has new fridge, washing machine, dryer and the kitchen has been recently refurbished. The bedroom for rent is fully furnished with a king single bed, side table, lamp, tallboy and it has a double built in wardrobe; it also has a large sliding door out to a balcony Just bring your suitcase and move in! The house is fully furnished throughout with high quality furniture, everything you need is provided! The house also has VDSL so pretty much the fastest internet you can get. I am looking for friendly individuals; Sorry no couples or pets. Call me for more information Thanks for looking!
Looking for housemates to find a share-house somewhere around the vicinity of UC. I have lived on campus (doing Medical Science at ANU) and with housemates but we are going different ways next year. I enjoy being outside, as i grew up on and regularly go back to a family cattle farm. Also i tend to procrastinate by cooking and cleaning. Looking to move late December.
Originally from Melbourne, moved to Canberra working full time in a large company servicing Genotyping Technology which keeps me busy during the week. Enjoy the outdoors; climbing, hiking, skiing etc. Keen to go explore the country, especially the Blue Mountains, so if you're keen then come adventure with me on the weekends. When doing a chore, I like to clean all the mess in an area, and not just mine. So I am looking for a designated and flexible week-by-week roster. Often I am too busy during the week to share meals, so I tend to solo cook after work. But if I do come home early, I always keen to share the experience :) Looking for flat mates my age, i.e. Full time workers who can keen themselves busy. I am curious about people, so I enjoy getting to know people from different backgrounds and ethnicities. I am straight and accept everyone from all walks of life.
Iam Vikas a masters student from ANU,Iam currently looking rent a room on the inner north, possibly to move in by the end of October. Iam 24 and originally from bangalore, India. Been here about 8 months more or less. Working in domino's Fyshwick. I also teach dance in Canberra school of bollywood dancing and Hobbys are photography and videography. Iam clean tidy and respectful of others space and enjoy socializing as well.
I'm currently still completing year 12, and intend to do further study at UNI. I've been working at a cafe for 3 years and enjoy it very much. I can be a social person, chat about mutual interests and enjoy getting to know people. I also enjoy my alone quiet time as well. I can confidently say I am mature for my age, due to growing up with a single parent and three younger brothers. Also meaning I am no stranger to cleaning up my own mess as well as assisting to keep the household tidy. I'm into reading and watching a few different TV shows, also a huge cat person, so wouldn't mind moving into a house with a cat or any type of animal! I've been in Canberra for majority of my life and intend to stay here. I'm not planning to move out until later in the year however, and just want to extend my feelers out to see what's available. Thanks!
Im 23yrs and originally from Sydney. Recently graduated from uni and fortunately secured a 1 year grad program in Canberra. I enjoy cooking and baking, plus Netflix and chill. My grad program starts at the end of October, so Im looking for a room that would be available than.
Looking to see what currently available and if there are some people out there roughly around my age looking for a room mate! Okay to move out at any time, just trying to find the right people to live with :) Not looking to live too far away from the city or Belconnen and not looking to live on the Southside either (sorry peeps) I work full time as a PA and enjoy sports, online gaming, music, gigs, hanging out at home and good food and drink! Please feel free to message me if I suit what you are looking for in a flat mate :)
I am quiet, easygoing and thoughtful. I like cooking (sourdough bread, yoghurt, and sauerkraut for example) gardening, reading, natural health, singing, dancing, crafts and much else. I've recently started as a supervisor on an environmental restoration project near Bungendore and this will be my first time to live in Canberra. Before that I was staying on farms in Australia and East Asia for three years learning about natural farming. I would really like to stay somewhere I can get a vegetable patch going.
Hey future house mate/s. My name is Hayden and i work as a full time stonemason. Im looking for a quite house hold. I usually stick to my self, dont go out much, im clean and will occasionally cook for the people i live with. Very easy to get along with. Not sure what else i should put up :)
I am a practical guy - have renovated kitchens, bathrooms and know how to fix and repair things. I live on the coast - looking for a Monday-Friday place around Canberra to pay bills. Have a 5 year old Jack Russell x Foxy that travels with me, so a dog friendly place is a must,
We are looking for a neat and tidy, non-smoking, humble person who is an animal lover and health conscious - or at least who wants to eat good meals with plenty of vegetables, legumes, fish and the occasional barbecue. Bit alternative, flexible and able to lovingly look after our cat and garden in owners’ absence for a few days here and there. We have a large organic garden, 4 toy poodles, 1 Oriental cat and 2 birds that are our special friends and entertainment – (no more “babies” please). We are in a quiet location adjacent to public transport to Belconnen and Civic. We have a furnished en-suite room available, have shared with others in the past and require a long term arrangement for the right person.
I have a dog who will need to come with me. We gave both lived in share houses before with no issues. He is strictly outdoor and doesn't bark or dig. I would prefer a place that doesn't already have a dog. About me: I am a female student at UC and also working full time, so you will hardly see me home. I love to relax with a home cooked meal and enjoy reading and the occasional ps4 game if time permits. I love to travel and explore, so whenever I do have some days off that's where I will be. I am neat, respectful and will always help around the house. I would prefer a room with my own bathroom but that isn't necessary. If you think I could make a good house.mate for you, please message me :)
I am an easy going guy. I enjoy hanging out with friends but respect the privacy of others. I am quiet and tidy guy.I'll be working and studying a lot of the time. So I would be out of the house a lot. I like to stay fit and healthy including eatting healthy and exercising. I'm hoping to become a personal trainer and work in security.
Study full time at the University of Canberra. I like keeping active and doing activities on the weekends. I love watching sport and t.v., going out for breakfast or lunch and a good coffee. I like to have games nights with my friends and watch movies. I'm pretty studious so most of the day I'm studying either at uni or at home. I work casually enough to pay the rent and occasionally go on holidays.
I'm a young, friendly and tidy professional who works full time, exercises regularly and has a steady social life. Pretty standard. Ideally, I'm looking to share with 1 or 2 others who are similar.
Hey guys, I have recently graduated and have fortunately secured a 1 year grad program in canberra. I'm originally from the Sydney. Love to cook and bake, plus like being physically fit. So I guess gym is my forte. My grad program starts end of this month (october). Hit me up with a message if your interested.
Relaxed 22 year old male with a naturally happy disposition seeking place to stay while studying primary school teaching for 4-5 years Into video games and movies, always up for a chat or an impromptu adventure, ideally looking for a place I can feel at home and enjoy the company of the people I am staying with - I don't smoke and I drink occasionally I enjoy boxing for fitness/fun, am a mediocre table tennis and billiards player but make up for lack of skill with enthusiasm as I do with all aspects of life Am an experienced cook and live a clean minimalist lifestyle love animals so any home with pets would be well received
I am from India, and will join ANU from 1st October. I am fun loving, clean, and quite person. I like privacy but sometimes enjoy partying with friends.
The room is currently furnished with a bed, bedside table and large desk and also has a built-in wardrobe, however these are easily moved if you have your own furniture. The house has a large backyard where our adorable 11 year old Labrador-Retriever hangs out and there's plenty of room if you have a dog of your own! The living area has a reverse-cycle air-conditioner and gas heater. The house is just around the corner from Coles and 15 mins from the city centre, 7 mins to UC and 10 mins to ANU. There are direct buses to the city, UC and Westfield Belconnen. The rent of $165 per week includes the cost of internet and a cleaner who comes in once a week. Electricity and gas are extra and split evenly, but please note we have a solar panel on the roof that usually reduces the electricity bill to zero, which saves a lot of money!
This house is situated close to bus stops. It is on a large block of land giving each person there own space. The rooms have built in wardrobes and have a modern feel, there is plenty of parking, has a little shed, Foxtel access if you want to connect it, bbq, kitchen as most utensils. Gas heating, air conditioning, close to shops and Belconnen centre. If both the available rooms get filled the rent will be $112.5, if only one is filled it will be $150, house is occupied by a young couple that are easy to get along with and both have full time jobs, bills are split evenly each quarter, the bond is $600 and will be give back on departure if the house is left as was when occupied.
WHO: I’m planning to move from Melbourne to Canberra soon - I have my eyes on ANU in 2018 so I want to spend the next year working and getting myself set up in Canberra. I’m quiet, independent and prefer to keep to myself. I’m not unfriendly and am happy to chat now and then but I am definitely not a party person. I’m clean, tidy and organised – when you see me around the house it will most likely be when I’m cleaning or in the kitchen preparing my meals for the week. I’m (mostly) vegan, don’t drink or smoke, and I am queer-friendly and pet-friendly. WHAT: I’m looking for a tidy sharehouse that I can come home to after work and on weekends knowing I can relax in peace and quiet. Ideal housemates will be tidy, responsible, and considerate of others. I don’t mind if you drink/smoke/eat meat as long as there’s no smoking indoors or drunkenness, and you don’t hang **** on me about my choices! I am looking for an unfurnished room that can fit a single bed, large chest of drawers, bookcase and desk. I will also need somewhere to park my car and some space in a kitchen cupboard for the bit of kitchenware I have. Internet access is also desirable. I’m hoping not to spend more than $200pw (plus bills) but would consider paying more for the right place. I’m hoping to stay long-term, but will also consider short-term opportunities. WHERE: As a newbie to Canberra I have no preference for area, so don’t be put off if your suburb is not in my list. My priority is finding the right place with affordable rent. WHEN: I can be flexible – hoping for mid- November but it will depend on what happens with work in Melbourne and, of course, when the right place is available. I would consider paying rent earlier than my actual move to secure the right place. HOW: I’m coming to Canberra next weekend (29-30 October) hoping to check out some places on the Saturday, and Sunday if need be. So if you would like to meet me and show me your place, or know more about me, please text or message me by Friday with a bit about your place and why you think I’ll be a good fit, and we’ll go from there. I might not be able to get around to everyone so the more you can tell me, the better!

You will be staying in a cozy and charming master bedroom with private access to the spacious balcony and your own bathroom. Everything in the apartment has been interior designed in the spirit of French provincial and industrial. Your master bedroom is influenced by a beautiful contemporary style. The room has a soft and heavenly queen bed-a mattress topper, spacious built in wardrobe, extra storage space and a study table. I am open to you bringing your own small furnishings however, it must suit the style of the interior design. There is an abstract outdoor table on the verandah. Location: Very convenient Getting to UNI-Bruce, opposite UC, 2 mins walk to 300 Blue Rapid, next to the 3 and 7 inner city bus lines. It is 3 stops from ANU and takes 10-15 mins to get there. Getting to Shopping centres: It is 10 minutes to Belconnen Westfield, 10 Minutes to Canberra City. There are street cafes and convenience stores located in the complex. Price: $230/week excluding bills such as electricity and internet. This will be split evenly amongst the tenants. Water is already covered. There is secured underground car park. The bond is 4 weeks rent and will be returned to you on your departure provided you give more than 3 weeks notice of departure. You will sign a contract to stay here for the period of time. Long term stay- more than 6 months is preferable. Room available from 26th October. The housemate MUST BE 1) CLEAN AND TIDY: The tenant must help me do cleaning every few days. If you do not clean up after yourself: ie wash plates & cooking utensils after use, leave messes around the house, do not help take out the bin - we will probably not make a happy household. What needs to be done? Vacuuming, mopping, cleaning kitchen, dining area. A person who stays in the apartment must have an acceptable level of cleanliness. 2) Respectful of others, not making unreasonable noise after midnight nor invite an excessive number of people and throw wild parties. I am a later year uni-student and pretty much over college parties. Soz. 3) Pay their rent and electricity bills on time and not give dumb excuses as to why they can’t pay. They must be fiscally responsible and have a stable source of money/income whether its from family or work. 4) Is easy going and friendly 5) Has a personality – could be humorous and fun. Ie would prefer if the person didn’t hole themselves in their room all the time à la ‘unilodge style’ 6) I also occasional hosts guests as part of my interest in meeting other people of different cultures around the world. So you must be OK with living with guests. Some people I have met include Norwegians, Germans, French, Chinese and Indians. Ideal people include: (Long list- I know right?) 1) A couple is ok. 2) It would be awesome if you liked playing board games, chess or like puzzles. 3) Non-smoker: I am not entirely discounting smokers, but absolutely no smoking inside the house. Absolutely no drugs. 4) Enjoy watching TV series, movies and Netflix 5) Enjoys home cooking, various styles. 6) Not be passive aggressive, nasty or have bitchy tendencies 7) Is a person who enjoys travelling, learning about other cultures and languages. Thanks for reading this really long post, congratulation for getting to the bottom of the ‘essay’. I’ve made the list really detailed and specific cause I really care about my living environment. Message me if you are interested in staying here. Look forward to speaking with you! Leonard
