We're going on a 3 week vacation from 19.02.18-12.03.18 and we are offering our private bedroom in a shared townhouse that comfortably sleeps up to 2 people or a couple. The room has a queen sized bed, 2 night stands, a build in wardrobe, an AC and a ceiling fan. Your own bathroom is across the hall. The bathroom has nice, fairly new furniture, a toilet and a shower/bathtub. You'll be sharing the downstairs living and dining area with our lovely roommates Rafa and Nati. They are very busy working and studying though which is why you will have the place to yourself most of the times. The kitchen and living area are equipped with everything you need to feel at home (cooking facilities, dining table, couch, TV with Netflix, guest toilet, AC etc.). We also have a small garden for you to enjoy. We have a garage if you have bulky gear/equipment with you. The complex also includes a pool, gym and barbecue area that you can use. Parking is available in the parking area of the complex. You can reach the city center (South Bank, CBD, Fortitude Valley in 25-30 min by bus (215). A shopping center is just 7 min away on foot (Groceries etc.). The Westfield mall in Carindale is just 10 min away by bus. A couple of nice parks are also close by. The place is perfect if you're just arriving in Brisbane and need a base to get settled and find your own apartment or house. Hello! I'm currently a full time digital illustrator, however I am moving up to Brisbane (from Sydney) to resume full time study in February at Griffith Southbank QCA. As such, I'm looking to room in an apartment or sharehouse with easy access to Southbank. My only space requirements are somewhere to put my work computer that won't be in the way. I'm quiet and clean-- and while that's not much fun at parties, it does make me good at living with other like-minded introverts. Although I'm resuming study, I have many years of experience being a working professional and living with others in flats and sharehouses. I can provide references from previous happy housemates and evidence of rent being paid on time if you would like! Basically, I'm not new to this. I'd preferably like to move in to an already-established furnished place, however I am open to teaming up and starting a fresh new place as well! I do have some of my own furniture in storage, so if you want to team up to find a new space and furnish it ourselves, I can contribute two couches, a fridge, some kitchen chairs and some kitchenware to that. (As well as my own bedroom furniture.) As for what I look for in a place, I'm definitely one to prioritise compatibility with housemates over the house or flat itself. That isn't to say we have to be best friends, and I definitely don't want to hang out 24/7 (downtime is important!), but I want to actually like and know who I'm living with. So I'm most interested in a situation with people who want to live together as a community and talk to each other over dinner from time to time, rather than being say three different people who live side by side as complete strangers. I like cooking and my favourite dishes to cook are curry and stir fry! But I don't want to end up being the "house mum" who cooks every night of the week-- a shared workload between housemates is the ideal! In my opinion, anyway. If you aren't interested in that sort of arrangement and just want to do your own thing, I completely respect that, but please contact someone else. I'm fine with animals, though I've grown up with cats and love them the best :). My hobbies (when I'm not drawing) are reading, writing, going to the movies, and pilates! Gotta keep that core strength up. I also have my own Netflix account and love a good movie from time to time-- anything from arthouse to blockbuster popcorn flicks. My favourite is Star Wars, though. Nerd pride :). I also have a car and am more than happy to drive non-car-owning flatmates around, but I do need a space to park it, even if it's just on the street. I'm also very handy around the house and can build/fix most (non-electronic) things, and I'm good at sewing and fixing up clothes, but I am bad with bugs and spiders. I work full-time Monday to Friday and love my job...most of the time. Weekends, I like to relax with a few drinks and some good banter. If you like stupid bored games or cards against humanity we'll get along great. I clean up after myself and would love if my roommate would do the same, although I'm not a clean freak and wont have a melt down if the dishes are left until the next day, but please for the love of god, take your long hair with you after a shower :P I'm not too sure what else to say so, if you're keen on getting a house/apartment around Brisbane City, ask what ever you want I am an open book. Also, my lease isn't up until March 2018, I would like to look for a new place around Jan/Feb with people who are ready to move in around then.
