Hi, we are Rebecca and Nathan. I’m a research scientist at ANU, and Nathan is a postgraduate medical student also at ANU. We are looking for something short term (3-4 months) while we wait for our apartment to be built. We won’t be home very much because of work and study but enjoy meeting people and sharing a good meal. We are courteous people who care a great deal for animals and the environment.
Hi! My name is Sarah. I'm a recent graduate from Sydney, about to start an APS job in 2018. I'm tidy, considerate and easy to get along with. I'm looking for a place to live for the coming year, preferably in Reid, Braddon, Turner, Campbell or Kingston.
I am a 25 year old public servant and I am currently looking for somewhere central, inner north / south, Inner Belconnen reigon or central Gungahlin. I am a fun, friendly and easy going person. I’m generally pretty busy during the week with work and on weekends I tend to spend time with family and friends but I do enjoy hanging out at home just to relax and do nothing. I’m not a massive party person but I enjoy being social! So I’m always keen for a chat and to hangout :) I love to cook and watch Netflix, that’s basically me in a bubble. Food + Netflix. Looking for some like minded people to live with! Happy to go anywhere between 6 - 12 months (even longer if possible) I also come with a queen sized bed that I’m not willing too part with (it’s too amazing haha) so the room would need to be able to fit that and storage for my clothing or come with built in robes. Also, I am unfortunately super allergic to cats so I wouldn’t be able to live with them. *sad face* but dogs are completely fine or any other pets :) I do have a boyfriend (who is currently on a volleyball contract in Germany but will be back april) and he normally stays over a few nights a week, if you aren’t okay with this then I’m probably not the right fit for you sorry! I was originally looking to move ASAP but now I’m hoping to move out end of Jan / Feb 2018. If you think I suit what you are looking for fee free to shoot me a message!
I am a master's student at the Australian National University, about to commence my study in January 2018. Born and raised in Indonesia, I consider myself friendly, organized, tidy and clean person. I enjoy nature, sports (especially basketball) and books for my free time. Love to chit-chat with my housemates and hang out especially on weekends.
Looking for a place with similarly mellow flatmates who are up for exploring or having a chat, but also respect downtime and privacy. I have a car so a car space would be great. I work full-time in the public service, am a non-smoker and I don't have any kids or pets. I'm a pretty easygoing guy and am often keen to hang out with mates, grab a drink or hit up a gig - Spilt Milk and Sia coming up! At the same time, love quiet time and movies and tv shows, but above all I love the beach (I'm from Sydney originally).
*NO LONGER LOOKING FOR A PLACE * Hey, my name's Daniel! I'm a psychology graduate working full-time in the public service. I've been living in a 4-person sharehouse in Braddon for the last 1.5 years, with great housemates. Our lease expires on December 4th though, so I'm looking for a new place to move to around then. WHAT LOCATION I'M LOOKING FOR: I'm looking for a place within walking distance to the Canberra Centre, or somewhere close to a bus stop. THE HOUSE/ROOM I'M LOOKING FOR: The place I'm looking for would ideally have an ensuite, covered parking space, dishwasher, washing machine, and a bedroom with enough space for a queen bed, large desk, and digital piano (not necessary though!). WHEN AND HOW LONG I'M LOOKING TO MOVE: My current lease expires on December 15th 2017, so I would be looking to move between December 1-13th 2017. I'm interested in a 12 month lease, but am happy to negotiate :) WHAT I CAN BRING: I've got furniture for my room, but can also offer an iron and ironing board, large chest freezer, and some things for the kitchen. My ideal housemate/s would be friendly, sociable (but also understanding of personal space), tidy, and of either gender. I believe it's important to have a coffee/beer/dinner every now and then so we wouldn't be complete strangers to each other, but I completely understand if you want your space. If you'd like to chat or meet up over coffee, let me know. I'm also happy to provide references.
Hi! I am Shubham, 23 years old and study master of earth sciences at ANU. Like my degree, I enjoy natural settings more than city places. I am into hiking, cycling and running. I read a lot, listen to classic rock (60's, 70's) and love to indulge in intellectual conversations. I work part-time and also my degree is research-based, so I leave in the morning and come back in evening. I am also a beer fanatic (not a drunkard though, lol). As for my habits, I like to keep my surroundings clean and lead a healthy life. I understand that each individual is different and therefore, I don't keep any kind of prejudices.
Hello! I am a young professional in my late twenties. I am often described as thoughtful, playful, and tolerant by those who know me. I consider myself very tidy, clean, and respectful. I am looking to share a house/flat of mixed gender, ideally with other professionals, but students are fine too. Preferably 3-4 people (including myself). I love animals, so pets are not a problem. (That said, I do not have any pets of my own and won't be bringing or acquiring any). I love good food, outdoors, exploring new places, trying new things, exercise and lead an active lifestyle. Well maybe not as much as those who live in lycra and compete in sports... but I do enjoy the fresh air. I also enjoy being a home body, and would be happy curled up on the couch with a glass of red, playing board games with whomever is up for a chat. I am a clean and organised person, but I don't go nuts with cleaning rosters. I believe we're all capable of pitching in with the cleaning when needed and when it's not inconvenient to do so. That said, I'd prefer not to live in a pig sty. If I sound like the right flatmate to you, shoot me a message, introducing yourself and the other tenants. Thanks! P.S. I do want to be part of a home and get to know you all, not just living with flat mates, however I have a preference to do my own cooking. Happy to participate in house dinners every now and then, especially the spontaneous ones, but I don't want to be committed to three different dinners cooked by three different people each week. My cap for shared dinners is probably once a week i.e. someone different takes a turn to cook every Tuesday, rather than three different people cooking three different days in the same week. P.P.S. I cannot live without a dishwasher. They are the best thing ever invented and I will use it religiously. Criteria: - Built in Robes (with lots of hanging space and shelves). This is non-negotiable. - Room that can fit a Queen Bed, side table, lots of other boxes/things etc. this is non negotiable too. - Car port/ undercover parking with automatic doors (highly preferable, but could be overlooked if everything else was perfect) - En suite (preferable, but not a must. Happy to share a bathroom with one other, but no more). - Lots of storage space (inside the house - not a storage cage) - Dishwasher - Housemates that are not hermits - Age of household: 25-35. Ideally, I would like to live with people who are around my age, and are social. - I do not want to live with infants, young children, or a family/home stay style arrangement. - I do not want to live in Gunghalin, Dunlop, Harrison, or Crace - sorry, it’s just too far from work.
Hello! What makes me great to live with... good question Flatmates... I’m pretty tidy, can make delicious food and cocktails and am a very drama free person. I’m an outgoing introvert, so I love company, but will need my own space to chill and recharge at times. I’m well travelled and have been living in Canberra for almost 2 years, but have been away for work almost a year of that collectively. I technically don’t have any pets yet, but my sister has a cat she’s caring for that I’d love to adopt and love animals in general. So I’m definitely pro-pets. I’d prefer a non-smoking household, and while I don’t consider myself a clean freak, would prefer to keep the communal areas pretty clean (dishes in the dishwasher and not left in the sink for days, no popcorn left in the couch... you know, the usual stuff). I’ve got enough furniture for a 2 bedroom apartment but am looking to upgrade to a house and share with people to reduce my rent spendings so I can hopefully afford a house deposit and smashed avo’s on toast. I’m looking to share with cool professionals that are respectful of space but happy to share the occasional meal and a glass of wine. I’m a veggo for intolerance reasons, but don’t mind if you’re a hardcore carnivore or vegan. I’m good to move from January and happy to move into an established home or team up and find a wolf pack to share an awesome house in the inner south or north (I’m not a lake-sideist).
I am organised and from time to time I like to keep my personal space neat and tidy. I am not a party goer and enjoy chilling at home during weekend watching tv shows with wine. I also love running and coffee.
We are a young couple, one of us is a student/part time worker and the other is in the APS. We are looking to move out of our parents' houses. We tend to keep to ourselves as we work, both day and night shifts however we are social on the rare occasion our schedules line up. We would prefer somewhere with our own kitchen/kitchenette as we are vegan and nut free. We both work and go to school in the city so, we are looking for something around that area (basically not Tuggeranong or Belconnen). Thanks for reading!
Hi All, I am moving to Canberra from Brisbane in January 2018 to work as a full time teacher. My partner will be working on the Army base and will be living on base for 12 months. I am looking for a modern apartment or townhouse with space to park my car. Furnished or unfurnished - does not bother me (as long as I can bring my bed), I am happy to purchase the essentials. I will be spending most of my spare time playing sport. As I won't know anyone in Canberra I would love to live with someone who would like to hang out for dinners, drinks, shopping etc. I am very neat, today and love cooking dinners. I like to keep bathrooms immaculate and have a strong dislike for old bathrooms with shower curtains!
Heyya :) my name is Philipp and I am a German student. I grew up close to Frankfurt but moved south, close to the Swiss border for my studies. I spent my last seven months in Wellington as an exchange student and intern and I'm coming to Canberra in January for another 3-month full-time internship, so I'm looking for a place to stay for that time! :) I am fairly outgoing and really easy to live with, I've been told. :) I'm a rather sportive guy, my favourite sports being Tennis, Soccer, Basketball and a few others. I also really like to go for a beer or two at a pub ;) I would say about myself that I am quite tidy, although my Mom would probably disagree... I don't mind how many people I would be living with or how big the room/apartment is, like I said I'm quite easy-going, Anyway, if I sound like someone that you would like to live and have a yarn with, I would really love to hear from you and maybe we'll be flatmates soon! Cheers, Phil
Hi I am a recent graduate now working full time looking for a room in a sharehouse. I am clean, social and friendly. I love cooking and meeting new people. I am also a sporting person, I play ultimate frisbee competitively and love exploring the outdoors.
I am a full-time high school teacher. I teach French and will also teach outdoor education next year. I love the outdoors, in particular rock climbing. I like to travel, eat well, read, keep up my French, train a lot, talk about life and sleep well after a big day. I like to keep the house clean. I like sunny and green spaces outside my bedroom window. I like music and to dance but I am not a party animal.
Hello, We are Tanya and Henry! :) We are two students: Henry is doing his PhD and Tanya is studying law at ANU. Tanya has a dog, Rocky, who will be living with us. Rocky has pet references from living in an apartment this year, and the landlord has been really happy with the condition of the house and how well we’ve kept the place. His details are available on request. We have been friends for three years now and we too come with references from our previous landlords. We both have part-time jobs and parents who are able to help us with rent. We are clean and conscientious tenants and will take care of the property because living somewhere nice is important to us. Please let us know if you want to know anything more about us! Looking forward to hearing from you! Warm regards, Tanya & Henry
I'm an Australian male in his mid-30s just moved to Canberra. I have funding for about 2 years to do research, broadly in the area of sustainability, at the ANU. I'm a quiet but friendly guy happy for a chat or a shared dinner but also respectful of others' personal space. Favourite hobbies are outdoor activities (hiking, skiing, climbing, etc.) and dancing (lindy hop and blues). I am vegetarian but OK with meat being cooked in the same house! I've previously sharehoused in Canberra and Germany. The last couple of years I've been living by myself (in Sweden, where sharehouses are not so common) and while it's nice I do miss having people around!
I am a quiet human but enjoy a chat and some relaxing social time, like having dinner together, board games and watching movies, although I respect the need for space. I keep pretty busy by studying, working and exercising. I love to cook and try to improve my rather poor culinary skills. At the moment, I am studying a biotechnology (science) degree at ANU. I currently live on campus and am looking to move out around late november/early december. I am looking for a home for preferably a year or longer, in which my housemate/s would be clean and easygoing. I am not looking for a party house. Cheers :)
Professional working within the government. Friendly, neat, tidy, quiet - I work both as a full-time government employee and as a published novelist. Fully respect privacy but always available to chat with my housemates. Enjoy cooking, keeping productively busy, and the occasional glass of something red and good conversation.
I'm moving to Canberra from Melbourne to start work as a grad in the public service, looking for somewhere clean and relatively close to work. I mostly just read and watch movies at home, so I'll generally keep to myself, but do also enjoy a chat/drink (and not averse to a good party either if that's your thing). I'm a pretty tidy person, and a non-smoker.
Hello there - I'm heading into my second year at ANU next year. I am originally from Sydney, and am looking for a place for me and my plants to live in the glorious capital (preferably walking/biking distance from uni). I'm studious, but easy going and I try to keep it tidy. I'm looking to move in at some point in January.
Hi I'm Will :) I've been living in Canberra for three years (Originally from Sydney) working in tech support. I'm a clean, friendly and respectful housemate who understands personal boundaries. I've been sharing accommodation the whole time I've been in Canberra and have a pretty good grasp on how to live with other people. Always down to share cooking duties / other household stuff. I'm looking for a place with easy access to bus routes to civic (I don't drive) so I'm looking around inner north Canberra. I'm looking for someone who's clean, responsible, respectful and friendly :) Love a chat and a drink I love electronic music :) I put on the odd gig and coordinate online streams and various other projects with artists from around the world. bonus points if you're into that kind of thing :)
