$275/week26 year old woman

NOTE: I am looking for a place from JANUARY (late Dec maybe). Please do not message me about places that are available now. I am a 26 year old queer woman from Melbourne who will be commencing a Doctor of Medicine at USYD in 2022. I have a BSc and a BA(Hons) and my thesis was a discourse analysis of Noongar representations of health and wellbeing in regional Western Australia. I have extensive experience living in sharehouses over the past few years (in both Melbourne and Oslo) and getting along well with the people I live with is very important to me. Ideally I'm looking for people who have similar values as me - people who care about sustainable living, racial justice and Indigeous rights, trans/queer rights, amongst other things. I'm a pretty active and adventurous person - the kind of person who always gets involved in volunteer projects, is always up for a spontaneous gig or going for a hike. I love cycling so a secure space to keep my bike is a must. I'm always keen for a drink with friends and like having dinner parties, but I also work pretty hard on my studies - balance is key. Ideal housemates would be social but also respectful of others' needs for independent time as well. I love a good get together now and then, but also will have a high workload so parties every weekend is not what I'm looking for. Ideal housemates would be similar age, postgraduate students or working professionals. Ideally looking to move in January, however willing to start paying rent earlier for the right house/housemates combo :)

$300/week23 year old man

Hey there! I am Seb, a 23yo French international Masters student and I am looking for a new place to call home. I am looking for either a studio/1bed-apartment or a room in a share house to rent in Sydney close to Macquarie University. I love to keep a tidy place and are always down for having a chat or hanging out but know the importance of needing space. I usually eat vego, and do my best to be environmentally conscious.
I studied a double masters in Conservation Biology and Environment through Macquarie University and will start my adventure as a researcher next year as part of a training pathway to a PhD. I volunteer with the Hunter Region Landcare Network and will work on a plant/microbial research project in Macquarie labs. I love cooking (my new passion since lockdown), and would be happy to share yummy French recipes. I am creative, loves nature and can give you great books, movie or TV show recommendations :) I currently rent with my partner in Newcastle but I must move to Sydney ASAP as it is one of the criteria for the scholarship I got awarded. I will probably spend most of my days working in the labs and my weekends in Newcastle to visit my partner. I can accommodate whether my next home is furnished or not. If you have a garden, I will be happy to look after it and try and grow some veggies or nice native plants.

Available now. I am clean and tidy and love socialising with friends but also respect others space and time. LGBTQIA+ friendly

$200/week28 year old non-binary

Hi howdy lovelies! My dog and I are looking for a room by December 15. Budget of $200pw +bills, can negotiate for a house in or near Leichhardt. 👽 Me: they/them, 28 going on 60, nonbinary, transmasculine and will be triple-vaxxed as of November 30 (exotic!!) I’m self-employed as a PA and I’ll be finishing up my acting degree at Actors Centre Australia in May, and I’ll be on Austudy until then. I’ve lived in sharehouses for 9 years so I’m well trained, and I’m vegan but I don’t mind living in an omnivorous house. Hobbies include: video games, theatre, dog, Nailed It!, shitty woodworking and chronic insomnia. I really like scheduled housemate time ie dinner nights but otherwise I’m pretty introverted. My shoulders also don’t like to stay in their sockets so you may need to help me get shit off of high shelves on occasion. I’ll be having major abdominal surgery on February 1 so I’ll be on struggle street for a bit, but I don’t think I’ll need any care beyond the occasional cup of tea and sympathy. 🐶 Mercury: he/him, 8 year old (???) Greyhound x Kelpie (???) fully vaxxed (!!!) rescue boi. He’s a pretty chill dude, warms up to people quite quickly, gets on well with dogs of all sizes and he’s respectful of firm boundaries. I’ve put a lot of effort into training him so he rarely barks or jumps up, and he also plays fetch and high fives like a champ. When I’m back at school in February he’ll be going to daycare. A couple of months ago he was attacked by the neighbour’s dog so he’s been having some anxiety with walks but I’m hoping he’ll feel better once we’ve moved. It doesn’t seem to have impacted his social skills. He will, however, emotionally manipulate you into breaking up large treats into smaller treats. There’s nothing wrong with his teeth, he’s just a toddler. Don’t give in. 🏡 House: anything and anywhere with high-speed internet, easily accessible transport to Leichhardt and an outdoor area where Mercury can live his elegant pot-plant fantasy. I’ll be coming with a single bed, desk, chair, some shelves, a clothing rack, artwork and dog things so I will happily live in even the smallest rooms - stick me in your unused shed, haunted attic or back in the closet. I’m LGBTQIA+ (of course), SW, poly and slut-positive, and COVID safety is a priority for me. I drink, don’t smoke cigs or wacky tobaccy but it doesn’t bother me if you do. The house beast and I are too sound-sensitive/introverted/ancient for a party house but occasional parties with notice is more than fine with me. If you got this far, congratulations and expect your Nobel Peace Prize in the mail. Can’t wait to hear from you! 💙
