Moving up from Melbourne to start full time work. Looking for a nice place to live in Canberra, ideally with other like-minded people. Easy going, social, and a non-smoker. Interested in sports, especially rowing, skiing and rugby, and always keen for a chat. Feel free to drop me a line if you think we'd get on. Cheers!
Hi! I'm Kat and i'm looking for a place to live in Canberra in February 2017. I'm moving down from Queensland for a graduate role and am hoping to live close-ish to the city with a few other people (male or female). I will be staying in accom provided by my department from Feb 4th - 21st and will be looking for a place during that time if you'd like to meet in person. I'm easygoing and a go-with-the-flow kind of girl who likes to socialise, but I also like my alone time and respect others need for privacy. I am clean and tidy (but not too obsessive about it) and love to cook! In my downtime I like to work out and explore new places. Ideally would like to live with someone who can be a respectful housemate, but also a friend - the kinda people down for Mexican Mondays, GoT sessions and a drink and a chat on the weekends :)
I'm in my 30s, so I've lived in my share of sharehouses to know what works and what doesn't. I'm a librarian, so I'm good at keeping everything tidy and in the right place. I'm pretty good for a chat and a cup of tea in the living room, and prefer to live with those who are similarly inclined. I also have my own creative interests, and like to stay active with swing dancing, cycling, and the occasional hiking trip.
Hey everyone I'm Sunil and I am due to start work as a public servant in the beginning of February in Canberra. I'll be relocating from Perth and am looking for a place to stay in as soon as possible. I don't have any specific preferences when it comes to housemates and open to stay with anyone. A little bit about me, I enjoy watching and playing sports including tennis, soccer and cricket and up for a jog or a gym session throughout the week. I am working towards being an okay cook (currently a little hit and miss with my cooking) and am willing to do the occasional cook off with my future flatmates. Apart from sports and cooking, I am a bit of a book worm, enjoy playing board games as well as watching TV shows and movies on Netflix and I do the occasional binge watch when I have the time. I am clean and organised and am very considerate to privacy and downtime when needed. I don't consider myself an extrovert but nonetheless like to socalise and spend time with friends rather than spending all my time at home. Lastly I would like to have the occasional dinner and drink with future housemates and I would love to be friends rather than just another person living on the premises. Hope to meet some of you soon!
Hello! 24yo here about to move down from Sydney to start a role in the public service. While not really into partying til late, I love meeting new friends and will gladly have some fun over food, drinks, board games n movies. Most often found chilling on the PC/laptop and listening to music (got headphones to keep the noise covered if that's a concern). It's my first time moving interstate but i've previously lived a year in Japan. I respect people's space/privacy and always clean up after myself. I love travelling and visiting museums and national parks - pretty excited to see what Canberra has to offer so will probably spend weekends out exploring when not taking a break at home. Personality-wise I am told that I'm friendly, easy-going and positive. Flexible around moving-in dates however the starting date for my full-time job is in the second week of February. Preferred length is stated as 6 months but is really flexible. Always happy to team up and establish a small sharehouse of 2-3 like-minded people also!
Hi, I am a full time public servant who studies part-time at the ANU. I work in Acton so am looking to share a house nearby. I love riding my bike (I don't have a car), keeping up to date with the news and learning new tricks! Not adverse to hitting up the town or going out, but do also enjoy quiet time. I used to play ultimate frisbee until I smashed my ankle up good - now I lick my wounds. Am currently looking for a new weekend activity which doesn't involve running and turning!
My name is Peter and I've recently finished a grad program at the Department of Infrastructure after moving down to Canberra at the beginning of the year. I'm a pretty easy going guy, happy to get along with anyone and fairly social but also get that everyone enjoys their alone time. I'm a fan of doing shared meals, having a chilled drink or board/card game and just lounging in front of high/poor quality TV. I'm pretty well house trained (thanks mum), clean but not pedantic and a reasonable cook (if you're a fan of pasta bake/Thai curries). Let me know if you'd like to meet up!
Friendly, easy-going, tidy. Enjoy keeping active and watching sport. Also enjoy social activities and a good coffee.
Fun, tidy and easy-going, I'm a bit of a goofball, I like to keep the house in a reasonably clean state but am not OCD. I enjoy my quiet time but also love to sit around with a beer or glass of wine and have a chat. I have a pet cat who is very good with other animals and warms up to new people quite easily. I'm from country NSW but have lived in Canberra for almost a year now, studying and working. Would love to find a pre-existing place that accepts pets or team up with some people to form a new sharehouse. Ideally would like to team up with 2 guys similar in age who are cat friendly and looking to live in the inner North or South of the city. I usually spend time in the garden or going for walks, reading and I love hitting up Canberra's jazz bars and live music scene for a drink and a dance.
I'm a busy late-20s professional working full time in the public service. I'm from Canberra, have been living in Sydney for the last couple of years but returning home for work. I'm sociable and easygoing, extremely clean and respectful of people's space. I love fashion, food, reading, tv and movies.
Hi, I'm a 2nd year Medical student studying at ANU. I've lived in Canberra for the past 4 years both on and off campus. I do study a lot for my degree, but in my spare time I enjoy playing hockey, brunching with friends and hiking. I understand that everyone needs their own personal space, but I am happy to hear about your day and enjoy a drink, some food, and a movie every so often. :-) I look forward to hearing from you!
Hi! I'm from Melbourne and will be moving up to Canberra in January to start a graduate position with the Australian Public Service. As I'll be new to Canberra, I'm keen to explore the city's food and live music venues as well as check out some of the national parks and scenery outside the city on weekends. To live with - I am easy going and sociable, and make a great TV binge watching companion. I also love cooking, brunch... a lot, hiking, tennis and snowboarding (although I wish my skills reflected this more accurately). I'm hoping to find one other person to establish a share house with and find a place relatively close to the city in Braddon, Ainslie, Reid or Turner. Feel free to shoot me a message - I'd love to meet up for coffee and discuss things further :)
We are both from Melbourne and moving up to Canberra in January to commence grad positions with the Australian Public Service. We are hoping to find one other person to establish a share house with and find a place in Braddon, Ainslie, Dickson, Reid or Campbell. We are easy going, sociable, and as it's our first time living in Canberra, we are both keen to check out new venues/bars/restaurants and see what the city has to offer. Things we like: - Brunch.... a lot, particularly the infamous smashed avo of which we are told is drastically impacting our ability to save for a future house deposit - Cooking (Emma also enjoys baking, Erika enjoys eating Emma's creations) - Checking out live music - Films - Vietnamese food & dumplings (basically a pre-requisite to living in Melbourne) - Hiking/jogging - Snowboarding Erika is moving up on 9 January to try and find a place and Emma will be joining shortly after. Shoot us a message, we'd love to hear from you :)
Hi future housemates, My name is Richard, I'm 28 and I'll be moving to Canberra in January for work. I'm very laid back and sociable so get along with just about anyone. I keep pretty active, used to be a keen rower and now have a go at just about anything to stop going stir crazy! I've lived in share houses before so I'm happy living with housemates, doing my bit around the house, chilling out at home and respecting each other's space. I am neat and tidy, non smoker, social drinker but definitely not a huge party animal. Prefer to live with like minded people and become friends rather than just housemates.
I'm very clean and polite. I can cook for a group and I have great staff discount with my employer. I spend most of my spare time illustrating or studying, but I also love movies and comics. I like to get out a bit too, either for drinks or the odd walk/jog, when it's in the budget I wouldn't mind joining a gym either. I don't mind pets but I'm gonna wait a few years before I bother investing in one for myself. I don't mind petsitting however! I've left my car in Adelaide for now and i don't want to buy another one so decent access to public transport is a MUST!
My name is Mina and I'm 23 years old. I'm a political science student from Aarhus University in Denmark. In January I'm moving to Canberra to work as an intern at the Danish Embassy. At the moment I live in a small apartment in central Aarhus with my boyfriend. I'm a happy and smiling person. I love to hang out with my friends, enjoy good food, a cold beer or a good glass of wine. I would be a good flat mate if you are the type of person who likes a chit chat around the kitchen table or maybe an after-work beer once in a while.
Professional looking to start a share house with one or two other people. Prefer 30+ and who are clean, tidy and trustworthy. I travel for work a bit so am not always home. Will be relocating to Canberra in Jan 17. Yes, I am in my 40's (insert sad face here) but I am very sociable and am down to earth and love to be able to have a laugh with my roomies. On the flip side am respectful of needing space and downtime. I stay fairly quiet during the week as I am an early starter for work, but do enjoy a wine and a chat, especially by the end of the week !! Love to cook and am happy to share a meal or go to the local ...
I'm a 22 year old from Adelaide who is moving to Canberra in late January for a one year contract in the Australian Public Service. I completed my Construction Management degree recently and have previously been working in Local Government/Council. I'm quiet and easy to get along with and my interests include photography, computer gaming and being outdoors.I cook occasionally, sushi is my favourite dish to prepare. I'm a tidy person who doesn't smoke and enjoys an occasional drink. I fly over on Jan 30 and need to find a place to live by mid Feb. I'll also need parking options for my car.
Hey, I'm Mandy from Adelaide who has recently moved up to Canberra to start a graduate program in the public sector this year. I am easygoing, amicable, and am equally respectful of others. I'm also clean and tidy, and will always pull my own weight. Though I enjoy my private time (parties aren't really my thing), I am always up for a good chat and socialising! I'm really looking forward to seeing what Canberra has to offer :)
I am a full time working professional. I am a very chilled out, clean and friendly guy. Always up for a chat and I also respect the privacy and personal space of others, and expect the same. I work 5 days a week. In my free time I like to plan my next travel, listen music and do some random stuff. I like sports and yoga. I am very open minded and accepting in nature. I have been living in a beautiful house in Turner from past 6 months. Unfortunately the owner want's to move-in. I would like a change now so looking for an apartment near to CBD.
I'm 26 and have just moved to Canberra for work. I'm from Queensland so I'm a tragic Broncos fan, I love good food, good wine and almost all sport. If any of that sounds like a housemate you would like I would love to hear from you. Bec
Hi guys, Me and my partner are looking for accommodation starting in february; I will work at mercure Accor hotel and my partner is a lawyer; we are easy going , friendly like partying and hiking. I am french and she is aussie cheers raf
I'm a finance graduate from Melbourne, just getting started with a public service job up in Canberra. Working full time, I'll gym most days, go out for drinks on weekends and try to get out to do some outdoor sports/activities every so often. I enjoy watching any new movies/Netflix with whoever is interest and can keep to myself whilst sharing the occasional meal or cooking up a storm together. I'm mostly looking for a team up, I have a small but new fridge, a washing machine and microwave I can bring to the apartment so I can save you a little cash! Currently in temp accommodation in canberra until Feb 3rd so I'm free to catch up whenever if you want to discuss options!
Hi, I'm Zsanett from Hungary. I'm doing my PhD at Macquarie University as an experimental geoscientist, but have a short term research at ANU (from 15 February till 28 May). I'm tidy and clean, I like the quiet nights but I'm not against to start the fire :) I gonna work non-stop, so you would not even notice me during the week :) At the weekends, I would like to go around and enjoy what the region could offer!
Easy going, active public servant looking for short-term accommodation to June/July before heading overseas on posting. House trained and will provide wine and cheese.
I'm a Melbournian with a double degree in Accounting and Economics. Just picked up a graduate position at the Department of Agriculture. If you need good coffee or your tax returns done, I'm your man. I've got a wide range of interests and don't mind being adventurous by trying new things. These include board games, kayaking, running dinners, experimental cooking, etc. I'm a fairly laid-back individual who values cleanliness and mutual respect. If there is anything else you wish to know, shoot me a message. Thank you, Andy
I'm moving to Canberra from Sydney for a graduate program with the APS after recently completing my degree in Arts/Social Work. I'm a mature, friendly, respectful person and look forward to meeting new people. I'm very neat and tidy and I love reading, getting outdoors, cooking and exploring art galleries. Happy to have fun chats over tea or drinks but I also respect people's privacy. Very keen to explore and experience Canberra as my new home. My moving date for next year is flexible.
I am 33 years old, came late to tertiary education and have just completed my Honours in History, as a civilian, at ADFA. During the next twelve months I'll be working and putting in some private study before resuming my formal education in 2018. I am currently in Brisbane spending some time with my family. I am sharing a place at Campbell, but looking to move on. I was born in Canberra and intend making my home there. I am a non-smoker, a social drinker and enjoy the company of others. I'm tidy, domesticated, easily to get along with, reserved and quiet, but enjoy socializing and meeting people. I enjoy cooking, am well-travelled, and have a wide circle of friends both within Australia and internationally.
Hi, I have recently moved from Wollongong to start a grad job in the APS. I like to play sport and be outdoors. I am a quiet and respectful but also very friendly person. I would like to live in a share house that is sociable and chores are shared evenly.
I'm 25 and moved to Canberra this year with my company. I've loved living here and am staying on another year! I'm looking to share an apartment close to the city from around early to mid February. I lead a full life and don't spend all that much time at home. I play sport and love to explore on the weekends. I'm fairly easy going and when at home I like to relax, cook, and happy to have a chat and a drink. I am very clean and respectful of others' space, so I'm keen to share a place with people who enjoy living in a similar way.
My name is Kate, I'm 24, and I'm moving to Canberra in January to start working full time with the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. I'm currently living in Melbourne, but I grew up in Tasmania, so I have a very keen interest in the outdoors - I love hiking, snowboarding, and I've just bought a bike and I'm getting into cycling! On the weekends I like to either head off somewhere for an adventure, or go hunt down some live music or a dance floor. Some of my favourite things are Disney movies, perfectly ripe avocados, making up Game of Thrones theories, and the smell of clean bed sheets. In terms of my housemate-style, during the week I'm a bit of a homebody; I love sitting on the couch with a glass of wine (after heading to the gym if I'm keen enough) while eating some kind of carb with cheese on it. I enjoy living with people who have got their own things going on, but are down for a family dinner on the odd occasion everyone is home at the same time.
Hey guys, My partner and I are looking for accommodation from around mid february. I'm Laearna, a 24 yr old mechanical engineer relocating for work and Will is a 24 yr old naval architect who i am dragging along with me. He who works remotely for a company in NZ. We are friendly people who like to laugh, get outdoors for adventures, spend nights out with friends or stay in with a drink cooking up something delicious. We are clean, respectful and easygoing housemates and have both lived together and in share houses before. We would ideally like to team up with another couple or some friends and find a place to lease together but would also happily slip into an existing share house if someone was willing to take us. Please get in touch if you think we would get along :)
I am a student from the University of Queensland looking for a place to stay during a one month internship in Canberra. I am originally from the UK, but doing a Bachelors Degree in Brisbane. I'm an easy-going and tidy individual, who loves to get out and explore the city that I'm in!
I'm a fourth year uni student in Canberra (though I'm overseas on exchange until mid-January, hence the Taiwanese phone number), studying Chinese and Science. I'm tidy and pretty quiet, though I'm always up for a chat over a cup of tea. I'm looking for a tidy, friendly household (if you've got any cooking/cleaning rosters I'm keen to join). I love pets and I'd help walk dogs if you have them.
I'm a recent ANU graduate who now has a graduate job in Canberra. I love to learn, am easy to get along with, respectful and tidy. I'm particularly interested in learning Mandarin, so living in a house with native mandarin speakers would be a huge bonus. My hobbies include running/exercise, soccer, reading, watching movies occasionally, learning about random stuff, travelling. I'm not much of a partygoer, however, I enjoy socialising and meeting new people.
I’m going to be starting medicine this year at ANU. I finished my undergraduate degree in Bioengineering at UCLA in Los Angeles, but lived in Qatar for most of life. At UCLA, I shared a room with 2 other guys for 2 years so I’m pretty well-accustomed to living with people. I’m pretty neat and clean when it comes to my living space. I also study a lot so I prefer living in quiet environments, but I do enjoy socializing (although I respect personal space and alone time), going out and partying from time to time. Work hard play hard lol. I can’t think of any hobbies I have besides eating, sleeping, reading, travelling, and spending an unhealthy amount of time on the internet. Feel free to hit me up to get to know me.
I'm looking for an easy going place to live with my 10 year old cat Steve. I'm a public servant, work full time. I enjoy playing tennis, swimming, reading, cooking & spending time with friends & family.
Hi all! I am moving to Canberra in Feb and will be studying at ANU. I know a limited number of people in Canberra so having some cool housemates would be amazing!!! I'm pretty outdoorsy, like to draw and paint, have been overseas for the last 9 months and am excited to move to a new city! I'd much prefer a share house where I can be friends with my housemates. Regarding tidiness- my mum loves it when I come home because I always tidy her kitchen haha so I'm pretty good on that count. Hope to hear from you! Katie
Hey! I'm a full time student at ANU looking for a new place after spending a semester in the Netherlands. I'm super social and fun but I know when to have a quiet night and let everyone study/sleep etc. I love cooking vegetarian food (I happily await your teasing) and I'm trying to get back into the gym (but I've been overseas for 7 months so it might be a bit of a struggle haha). I LOVE travelling and try to get away as much as possible. I also love having adventures here in Australia so if you want a camping buddy or just someone to go on spontaneous trips to the beach with then let me know. I'm clean and tidy, punctual with rent and bills, and a responsible but fun housemate. I'm pretty easy to get along with and love to have a laugh over a few beers. Basically, I like to think I'm good fun and would love to enter a share house with similar people who will have a drink with me but also let me punch out the odd essay. Look forward to meeting you, Amber :)
I'm looking for a place that is more than just a place to live - I think that in an ideal share house you have plenty of space and privacy but are also friends with your housemates and can do fun things together. I'd love a place where we can occasionally eat together (or even start a communal cooking roster), have tea/drinks and chats together at the end of the day, or watch terrible TV together. I love cooking, and can be frequently found baking a cake for no reason. I am always up for good feminist chats. I love shitty reality TV, bushwalking, swimming and finding new places to eat. As a housemate, I think I am clean, respectful and friendly. I think its important to be aware of each other's needs and to keep communal spaces clean.
I have recently accepted an offer to work full-time for the Department of Veterans' Affairs as an ICT Graduate. I have just moved from Brisbane to Canberra, and am looking for accommodation. I would preferably like to move into a place as soon as possible. I am twenty one years of age, and have recently completed my undergraduate Bachelor of Information Technology, with a major in Software Development, from Griffith University. I am an easy-going, considerate and sociable person, and am a strong believer in cleanliness. I have a passion for travelling and enjoy playing computer games in my free time.
Hi I'm Kami from the Philippines. I'll be taking up a Master of Science Communication at the Australian National University this 2017, having graduated with a Bachelor of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology back in 2015. I've lived in shared accommodations for over four years, and so I am used to the social interactions and cleaning responsibilities that come with it. I enjoy getting to know the people I'm living with, though of course I do respect their privacy and need for time alone (after all, I also need moments of peace and quiet too!) I love eating, cooking and baking, going to museums, playing the Sims, doing yoga, reading fantasy novels, as well as exploring places in general. Really looking forward to exploring Canberra and maybe learning how to cook some Australian dishes! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message :)
Third year environmental major at ANU. Love to travel and have many stories to share. Enjoy gardening, cooking, art and having communal house dinners and chats. Tidy, respectful of people and reliable with rent and bills.
I'm a Scottish exchange student coming to ANU for 1 semester to study philosophy. I am 20 years old and in my 3rd year if my degree. I love art and cinema though won't be able to pack my easel or DVD collection. I'm looking for a private room to sleep in, a place to shower, and somewhere I can prepare food. Everything else is optional!
I'm a recent graduate of project management who will be commencing a full time graduate position. I'm originally from Melbourne. I am an outgoing and socialable person who enjoys meeting new people and bonding with housemates. At the same time I am respectful of people's personal space, as I also don't mind some down time myself every now and again. I like to cook as well as keep everything tidy. Ultimately I am an easygoing, respectful and reliable person who walks into every situation with a positive mindset.
Hey, I'm Karla. I'm a 21 year old law student moving from Melbourne to Canberra. I'm the gal on the right in the picture. I mostly split my time between spending way too much money on quality coffee, going to gigs and trying not to cause permanent damage to my kitchen when I cook. I'm pretty laid-back, clean and I make a mean guac.
Hi ! I am a french student and I'll spend 6 months in Canberra from february to july 2017. I need to find an accomodation for one month starting from the 7th of february. I am open to any kind of accomodation as it is a short-term stay. I am used to flatshares, clean tidy and quiet, I love reading and cooking and I am available if anyone would like some french lessons ! I will be working full-time at the CSIRO. I am very exited to live in Australia, and I hope I'll find a friendly home !
Looking to move into a room in a share house or team up with people to find a pet friendly rental. I'm studying Arts at ANU and work as a barista in Dickson. I'm clean and respectful of peoples privacy but also enjoy a casual drink on the weekend with housemates. I have an Australian Bulldog who is super chill and has great rental references from current and previous landlords and real estates. She pretty much sleeps 24/7, is house trained and loves a snuggle. Feel free to message me if you want to know more or meet up with us. Free dog pats included!
I'm moving from Sydney to start a full time APS position. I'll clean up after myself, am laid back but love a chat too. So a social house where there's still some peace and quiet if you want it would be the dream. Ideally I'd like to get out and about on the weekends with day trips to the beach or snow but I don't know how realistic this is yet. Average at best surfer and snowboarder. Pretty sport mad too, especially about the NBA. Looking to move into somewhere early -mid feb.
Hi there, I'm a 24 year-old young professional who works full-time in Canberra. I originally grew up in Melbourne and moved to Canberra in 2011 to study at ANU. I've been in a share house in Campbell for the past three years, but with my housemates moving interstate I'm now looking for a new place. I generally like keeping to myself, but also enjoy occasional after work drinks and the odd get together with friends.
hack | nerd | activist | queenslander| bakes too much | exercises too little | listens to music that scares and horrifies G'day! I'm moving down from Brisbane for a new job in Civic. I studied law and politics (like everyone in Canberra) and I'm yet another hack! I'm a pretty excellent baker and love cooking (so I need a pretty decent kitchen). I was (and probably will be again) a Scout Leader. I like video games, comic books, bushwalks, canoeing, comedy, live music and getting involved with social activism. I'm really social, love having house parties and going out, and I'm a festival junkie. Usual caveat: I'm not a needy housemate, and I respect my housemates' privacy. I'm also looking to get a new DnD campaign up and running if you need proof of my crippling social dysfunction. I'm after housemates around the same age (20-30), who are keen for the occasional house party but are most of the time just okay listening to me laughing with my headphones on like a madman. I'm pretty independent having had my own places since I was 18. I also drive and I'm handy around the house.
Hello! I've been share housing for around 7 years now. So that means my social skills are okay. I am clean, considerate and love to hang out but respect privacy and quiet time. I am a full time worker and love to be out of the house on weekends. Can get into cheesy tv if required, enjoy playing cards, boardgames, video games, or just general drinks and chats. If you are interested in teaming up or looking for a friendly person to fill a room, send me a message!
