Originally a Melbourne girl, been in Canberra for a year and loving it. I'm a clean, tidy, non-smoker. I work in APS and am studying a double masters part-time. I also do musical theatre so be prepared to be serenaded occasionally haha. I would love to find housemates that I can chat and hang out with, but I also like to keep to myself every once and a while - especially during study periods.
Hi there, I'm Meghana, 21 yo! I'd be joining the ANU for a Masters Program in Finance this July. I am currently a working professional with one of the Big 4s. So my priorities and schedule are in place for next 10m to a year, at least, considering my current regime. lol But otherwise, I am a very extroverted-cheerful person and a vegetarian. And no, I've no issues if my roommate is otherwise. Food is one's own choice. So no comments. I can almost talk about every topic under the sun. I share a great passion for badminton and swimming. If we get a chance, may be we can go for a rally or two. It'd be fun. I have a great taste and passion for music. It's a plus if you do too.. :D Most importantly, I'd be a full time student and working part time. I've no other habits like drinking or smoking. I maintain quite decent timings- I do not plan on having late-night hangouts, with that being a given, during the day, I'm the most outdoorsy person. We could sometime plan for an outing or two together! In case you study the same subject as mine, me being a flatmate is a bonus for you. I am pretty good with the subject and people say I am great at simplifying concepts :D Please reach out in case you have suitable option open for me. Cheers, Meghana
Hi there, I'm Jacob and early 30's. I work full time in the Australian Public Service and I am born and bred Canberran. Full time student doing Bachelor in Web Design and Production. I am looking for a room to rent within my budget within the next 12 weeks. I am also non-smoker and not a party person but quiet however very chilled and friendly. I should mention, I am deaf myself. I am neat and tidy and I am well cooperative with other housemates when come to sharing chores etc.
I'm pretty chilled and easy to get along with. Originally from Newcastle NSW but I have accepted to study at the University of Canberra to start 2018 semester 2. I'm looking to make the move down to Canberra asap so i can settle into a new place before starting my studies. I would be happy in any suburb as i have a car and don't mind using it. Also keen for teamups or whatever they call it. A bit more about me, I have recently come back from living in Canada for two years and have become a keen snowboarder. When there's no snow i usually like to spend my time outdoors hiking, or kayaking. I have lived in a share house with more than 40 people using the one kitchen before, so i know the importance of being CLEAN and respectful of other peoples space. I enjoy a few casual drinks here and there just as much as i enjoy my quiet time watching Netflix or studying.
Hi! I'm an APS graduate looking for a new place since my lovely current housemates are both coupling up. I'm originally from Melbourne, living in Lyneham and would love to stay in north Canberra, within ~30 minute cycling distance of work in NewActon. As a housemate I'm very friendly, considerate and reasonably tidy. I keep very busy, but I love a friendly housemate debrief at the end of the day. I'm vego but I don't care what other people cook or eat. I've lived in sharehouses for many years with great friendly/respectful vibes and I'd love to find that again in my next place. I come with a very cute and well behaved 9 year old Maltese x Cavalier doggo. She sleeps all day so she doesn't take up much space, and is very loving and friendly once she knows you. She is a wonderful tenant, doesn't shed and comes with great references from my current and previous properties. I'm hoping to move somewhere by the 12th of July. Hoping to hear from anyone who thinks their place might be a good fit!
Hi there, I am a long-time Canberra resident finishing off the PhD this year and have started a new position at the ANU. I have shared houses for many years and am looking for a new place with some down-to-earth folks. I'm staying at a friend's place so my move date is pretty flexible too. I've been in Aus for 14 years (og from the US) and been a perpetual student most of that time. Looking forward to finishing study and only having one job for a change. I love the inner north Canberra and would like to live in a house. I've been living in share situations for awhile and respect other people's space. In saying that, my last few places have developed into a house-family so that is something I would like to cultivate with people at the new place. Good housemate qualifications: tidy, friendly, quiet, love to cook (esp new things) and going on random adventures. I am fairly active - my pref is hot yoga, not-a-big-tv watcher but also not adverse to a late night binge on Netflix and I like to have a drink or two when the occasion calls for it and if cheese is involved all the better. I am house-proud and like to keep things nice though not a freak about it, I have a lot of furniture and a cat. Her name is Bean and she is very quiet (she can't really meow) and loves her personal space, i.e. will sit nearby but not within reach. She's lives with a dog now so she could handle a chilled doggie housemate. Contact me if you're interested in starting a new place - or if you have a place and can find room for me, Bean and my stuff. Peace
I'm looking for somewhere new to live. I'm 33, fairly artistic, and just returned from overseas. I've been a public servant for a decade but don't judge me for that - I try to have a life outside of work, which usually includes the gym, having a few drinks, learning French (bonsoir!), random outings and the occasional creative endeavor - which I may or may not try to rope you into. I just scored a government contract in the city so I'd prefer to live either near the city, or somewhere with good access to public transport. I don't smoke (but don't care if you do), don't have kids, don't start fires and always pay my rent on time. My special housemate skills include killing spiders, mastering the timer on the heater so the house is always warm, playing freezer tetris and going on random Ikea splurges. I'm reasonably tidy but not anal about it. I come with a very friendly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Dexter, and I've never had any issues adding him to my lease. He's good with other animals, especially dogs, and he's getting older so as long as there's somewhere he can pee, he doesn't need a huge yard (although he does need secure fencing). You can see pictures of him on the Insta account I've linked to my profile.
Looking to join a sharehouse or team up and start a new one.. About me : Fully employed, financially independent. Creative soul, musically inclined. I'm an experienced house-sharer, considerate of others, clean, respectful, social / independent. Looking for a large room, or seperate additional space, to setup my studio desk. Enjoy travelling, going on walks / hikes, photography, nature, reading, seeing live music, catching up with friends, music festivals, or wherever the day takes me. Home Life : I enjoy social time when living with others but also value my own space. I like to keep things fairly clean, but i'm not a clean freak. Ideally : i'd be sharing with some awesome, creative type people, who enjoy a meal / get together, but who also respect each others space. The usual really. Have a small bunch of furniture - queen sized bed, couch, fridge, microwave, desks, bookshelves, etc... can be used or put into storage. If you think we'd be a good fit get in touch! Anthony.
Hi :) I am an exchange student from the Netherlands and I am going to start my studies at ANU in July. I'm desperately trying to find a place to live since my accommodation offer at ANU did not work out. When it comes to me I am an easy-going, optimistic and quite funny person, I guess. During my exchange in Australia, I would love to meet new people and enjoy Australia to the fullest :)
Hey! I'm Claire and I'd say I'm a really easy going person who is tidy, organised, friendly and social, but also respects personal space. I love being outdoors, travelling and playing with animals. I'm a full time uni student and work part time and am looking for a place somewhere near the city and the ANU campus.
Hello everyone! Looking for a place to stay to rent for 6 months to a year. I'm sociable, open-minded, friendly (can get along with most people), but also respects privacy very much. I am an individual who is clean and tidy. I'm also an outgoing person but on occassion I like to have time to myself (balanced lifestyle is important for me!). I'm looking for someone with these similar traits, so we can actually get along in the property we reside. Cheers, Reno Cotan
I am moving from Melbourne to Canberra to continue my degree (after some time off) in computing. Ideally looking for somewhere to call home, although I'm happy with temporary arrangements as well. I've been filling out 1form applications for almost five years now, so needless to say that I'm fully house trained. I recently ruptured my PCL so a lot of my interests have become a lot more sedentary. In my spare time, I like eating, cross-stitching, playing board games, exploring the city, and binging on Netflix. I'm a big advocate for mindfulness and have been trying to live life more deliberately. I also try to keep active, although lately that's been mostly limited to the gym and cycling. I try to keep busy and am respectful of space, but am more than keen for a chat with an occasional glass of wine. P.S. I can and will happily cook for you! P.P.S I can also come with an xbox one with kinect and apple TV
25 year-old recent graduate working fulltime. Looking for a place for myself and my very friendly indoor cat Cairo, preferably within the inner-north or Belconnen areas. I like to get out of the house on weekends and keep pretty quiet during the week. I like living with housemates that want to get to know each other, but am conscious of the need for downtime. Always on time with bills/rent etc.
Hi, my name is Tessa, I am 21 and I study English Language and Culture at the University of Groningen in The Netherlands. I love cooking and baking, and being very social, but I also really love to read in a nice and quiet spot. I also love spending time outside and I am really looking forward to seeing all the different animals you have in Australia. I go to the gym two times a week (well... at least I try to), and I draw occasionally. I babysit because I think kids are pretty hilarious, and because I need the money, and I will probably be looking for a job as a waitress in Canberra. So yeah, I am a total book nerd, I have watched every episode of Game Of Thrones, I talk way too much, and I love to cook... I think that's all you need to know about me for now!
Hello! I'm Lilian and I am moving to Canberra from Sydney for work so I'm looking for a place to move into. I clean up after myself, am considerate of others, and enjoy socialising and having a laugh as well as having some downtime on my own. I also love going for walks, reading and trying my hand at cooking new recipes.
I have just graduated from ANU. I am an international student from Singapore. I love watching comedy shows , my favourite being Brooklyn- nine nine. I love chocolate and dancing. I studied psychology and management at ANU . I like my own time but happy to hang out as well! I am a tidy person and like to keep my surroundings clean.
I'm a 46 year old professional from Sydney working for a company in Braddon. I'm planning to stay only 4 nights as I will be travelling to back to Sydney for the weekend.
I have pretty simple needs and I keep things pretty straightforward. I usually manage all my priorities by my self like cooking, cleaning etc and sticking to the household necessities. I like occasional amiable chit chats with flatmates as long as everybody is in their comfort zone. I'll be graduating from ANU in mid-July so I need an accommodation somewhere around that time. ** If it sounds like we can work out things, drop me a message and I'll respond**
My name is Ahmed and I'm 32 years old. I work as an assistant lecturer/research assistant. At the same time I'm a 3rd year PhD student at ANU, studying molecular biology at JCSMR. I'm a very respectful, quiet, clean, responsible, non-smoking and tidy person. At the weekend, I like to enjoy cooking and sharing my food with my housemates. I have been living in Dickson for the past year. Looking for a room reasonably close to ANU. I'm flexible with the duration of the lease and ready to move as soon as possible.
Hey there, I'm Randa. I'm an easy-going post-grad student at the ANU looking for some cool house amigos. I'm from Perth but moved to Canberra to study Anthropology and Development. I've been in Canberra for 3 years now living in Braddon. It's been awesome. I'm a social person and love chatting about anything (normally in the kitchen) but, I also like my downtime. I'm environmentally conscious, clean and respectful and spend my spare time catching up with friends, riding to the lake, or playing futsal. I've lived in a shared house for 3 years so I know the gig of personal space, hygiene and boundaries. If you're the type of housemates that are up for a good chat, a good feed and care about the world then message me, I'd love to meet you.
I am a student starting a masters degree at UC in July 2018 looking for a quiet and relaxed place to stay at for six months to one year or more. I’m currently based in Brisbane moving to Canberra late July. I’m very friendly, clean and tidy person and respect others. Hoping to hear from anyone.
Hello! My name is Sharon and I'm looking for a clean quiet room to move into for the next year or so. A bit about my housemate credentials: I'm a 21 year old, single, female. I work for the Australian Energy Regulator in New Acton on Marcus Clarke Street. I'm also in my fourth year at ANU finishing off my medical science degree. I'm only working part time right now, but I hope to be full time in a year when I graduate. I try to automate or have systems for as much of the day to day running of my life as possible, so I'm good at things like paying bills on time. There is some flexibility with my move-in date. My current lease ends on the 20th of July, so I'm happy to move in anytime before then. Benefits of living with me: I'm really clean and tidy (I don't leave dirty dishes in the sink overnight and don't have a lot of stuff). Partial access to the rewards of my potato gem fund. Yup, I have a separate bank account for fried/baked potato products. I also really like to bake. I like to make my chocolate cakes really dense and fudge-y. On weekends I sometimes have my friends over and we bake breads. Hope you like bagels. To work off the potato gems and baked goods I do ballet at the Canberra dance theatre. I want to move out of my existing share house because my financial situation has improved, I'm nearing the end of the lease, I'm quite busy especially during the week and I'm looking for a place where I can come home to a clean, quiet and no-dramas environment that is close to work and school. Having said that, I'm almost always down for chat. Please let me know whether this interests you and we can meet in person. I'm free after 5pm most days this working week. Cheers, Sharon
