I am a working professional and have lived in the Perth metro region for five years. I currently work as an Environmental Research Scientist for the WA state government. While most of my work occurs at a local office, I also conduct field work across the state and these trips can last from a few days to more than a week depending on the project. I grew up in a small farming community in the Midwest Region of the United States and moved to Australia (Brisbane) in 2016. Growing up I spent time hunting and fishing along with various other outdoor activities. Now, my free time is spent gardening, sailing, and training at various gyms in the area. While I am by no means a clean freak, I do keep a clean and tidy environment. I also get along with most people, meaning I can socialize with extroverts while not overwhelming introverts. In other words, I prefer to “go with the flow” and attempt to accommodate others needs. Importantly though, I have no problem confronting issues in a calm and professional manor to reach a reasonable solution…which is also an important part of my job.
