THE ROOM The room is furnished with a single bed, mattress, a bedside table and also a chest of drawers (I can remove it if you want to get your own furniture). It has one large window and another glass wall that allows access to the balcony and also an excellent view of South Preston. The panoramic view of Sunset from the bedroom, balcony as well as the living room will only make you stay in the house even more. The room also has a mirrored built -in robe with enough storage space. THE APARTMENT The apartment is a 2-bedroom unit that is fully furnished, yet so spacious, you can still put tonnes of different things. The lounge area is set up with a super-comfy sofas with a 43-inch TV that is set up with Netflix. The living room opens up in the balcony and, is drenched with enough sunlight to keep the place nicely warm during the cold days. The Kitchen is fully equipped with a gas-stove, microwave, oven, huge fridge, dishwasher, etc. The bathroom is equipped with all facilities including a washing machine in the laundry closet and will be shared with me. The entrance foyer has huge storage space for all your extra stuff. The apartment also has storage cage in the basement in case you ever use up the storage space in the apartment itself! THE LOCATION The apartment is situated at one of the best locations you could expect. A 3-min walk gets you to supermarkets like Woolworths and Aldi. A 2-min walk gets you to a tram stop along route 86, that takes you to La Trobe Uni in less than 20 mins and also to the city in 35 mins. The bus stop is right in-front of the the main entrance of the building and 8-10 min walk gets you to Bell or Thornbury train stations either way. Besides, there are plenty of Cafes, Restaurants, Bakeries, Shops, Convenience stores located within couple of minutes.
This house is in a nice residential street with plenty of on-street parking, a nice front-yard and a big back-yard with a huge patio that we've lined with couches (see the pics), which basically functions as an outdoor living room. It's really well-lit, modern and clean with a decently equipped kitchen (including dishwasher, gas stove and oven) and central heating. There is a veggie patch that any would-be housemate could have free reign over if they're interested. Location-wise, we are literally a five minute walk from Northland which covers almost everything (supermarkets, delis, gym, restaurants, a big Hoyts, and a heap of buses departing) - but you can barely see or hear it from our house; best of both worlds! We are also reasonably close (15 min walk) to the 86 tram and of course being in Preston you have the Preston market with everything that has to offer. Also only a few minutes from the Darebin Creek Trail which lets you cycle all the way down through the city.
I'm a very independent, clean, tidy, extremely nice person. I prefer my own space but am also a very good at having great conversations with people. I respect myself a whole lot and the people I come into contact with and expect the same back in return :)

I’m Darrin. I’m looking for 2 rooms in the same house, or a room plus study. I am a music teacher/performer and composer. I teach piano at Ivanhoe Grammar, Jazz Improv at Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, and accompany singers at Monash University. I also do gigs around Melbourne and compose. I am close to finishing my Master of Music (Composition) and will submit in July. I have many Arts interests, am interested in food and cooking, and am a keen gardener! (“Gardening: cheaper than therapy, and you get tomatoes!”). A couple of years ago I completed a Permaculture Design Course. I am very much into creating a warm and friendly house that is environmentally conscious, peaceful, and homely.
