It’s located in a quiet street that is bordered by the Dickson playing fields and the wetlands. The house has ducted gas heating and evaporative cooling. I'm looking to rent out just one of my 3 spare rooms, at about $200 p.w. Internet is included in that, but other bills would be split. (The photos of the house are from back when I bought it in 2014. I pay the water bill, which is $300/quarter, so all you have to pay is the quarterly electricity bill which is split three ways, and $20 a month for unlimited wifi ! Room is available in June, quite flexible my housemate is going overseas for exchange and will be back in Jan/Feb 2018. You will need to sign a sublease, and pay 2 weeks as a bond :D

It's at the other end of the house from the living and dining rooms if you need some personal space. In the front garden is an outdoor table with directors chairs and folding umbrella. Our home is across the road from Mt Ainslie nature reserve. Short walk to local shops, quick cycle or reasonable walk to the city and close access to buses. The room has lovely big windows and built-in wardrobe space, and is connected to the central heating (which we use thoughtfully :). The room has a comfy double bed in it but can moved if need be. It is best inhabited by someone who is a solid sleeper as sound-proofing in the room isn't great. Current housemates are Noemi and Valeria from Mexico, and Amie and Kylie from Aust. The house is large and more than comfortably accommodates all of us. Noemi is in her last year of an anthropology PhD, Valeria just started highschool, Kylie just moved here from Darwin and is also doing studies in Anthropology, and Amie works in community arts and is involved in a number of other comm'ty based projects.
The master bedroom is the room on offer, it's quite large with his and hers wardrobe above head storage and has its own ensuite. You'll also have access to secure underground parking! The house comes fully furnished, this includes a 70 inch 3D TV with surround sound for movie nights (winning) pretty flexible on furnishings and the layout of the house. If you've got an outdoor setting and a BBQ you're a winner in my books. Close to the hustle and bustle of the city and about a 5-10 minute walk to lonsedale street if you require some of the best coffee Canberra has to offer. Rent is $270 for single or $360 for couples a week payed to the realestate agency calendar monthly. (Would prefer a couple as saving money to go overseas) Must clean up after yourself and be open to the idea of a cleaning roster. Don't worry I'm not a nazi. The house is double bricked hence perfect for this time of year although heating is also available. It has a lovely backyard which is of use to all housemates. The room is in a modern apartment about 10-15 minutes walk to Braddon and Civic. There's a bus stop across the road and there will be a Light Rail stop by the end of 2018. It's a light filled apartment with a spacious layout and plenty of storage. There's a large main balcony which is great for drinks with friends. The room has a private balcony and a built in wardrobe. The room will have exclusive use of the main bathroom except if guests are over. There is also a study nook which can be shared or used exclusively (there may be an increase in rent if exclusive use requested). The apartment is in a great location for professionals anywhere in Canberra and being on Northbourne Avenue means it's easy to get on the highway for weekends away. The apartment has two secure underground car spaces (handy to reduce car insurance costs) and a storage cage. There is also central air-con/heating/fan throughout the apartment and a built in laundry/dryer area. There is a tailor/dry cleaning service and pre-prepared meals caterer downstairs which is handy for professionals. There are about 15 guest car spaces outside the building but within the grounds of the complex. This is a non-smoking apartment (even on the balconies) and pet free. With the departure of my old roommate the apartment will not have a TV.
Just a 15 minute walk to Civic, even less to get to Lonsdale Street! You will have your own bedroom (unfurnished with built-in wardrobe) and bathroom. The rest of the apartment is furnished but I'm quite flexible if you have some of your own furniture. Balcony looks out onto Black Mountain, and the building has a gym and indoor heated pool. Bills are low because the building is modern (built 2012/13) and well-insulated. The apartment is equipped with NBN fibre to the home, will just need to sign up to a plan. I also have Foxtel, so keen to share that if you can share your Netflix account! Water bills are paid for by the landlord, you just have to pay gas and electricity (I currently split this 50/50).

It’s an easy walk/ bike ride to Dickson shops and a 15-20 minute bike ride to Civic or ANU. Most of the bus routes leave from near Dickson shops, but there is also a bus which runs between Hackett shops and Civic. The room is available from the 1st of June (flexible with move in date). It is a decent size (big enough to fit a queen-size bed, shelves and a desk) with good natural lighting and a built-in wardrobe. The rent is $170 per week not including bills.
