Beautiful renovated detached house in Downer. The house has a huge living space and big yard, so lots of room for activities. there is also a huge garage for storing random things (however we are considering buying a table tennis table to spice things up). there are plenty of car spaces and parking on the street. Kitchen is fairly new and doesn't get too crowded.
The interior is beautiful and bright, the kitchen is shiny and easy to clean, AND we even have hooks for our pans to hang up, which my friend pointed out means we are "real adults." We even have one of those magnetic strip thingies to hold our metal ~cooking utensils.~ The little things I love most about living here: beautiful furniture and artwork, a spacious bathroom that I savor my showers in because it feels like something from Better Homes & Gardens, we have a really nice vacuum & plenty of cleaning supplies, and I do believe an espresso machine has just arrived in our kitchen... Last but not least, we have a spacious backyard with a swingset and tire swing and garden and patio, perfect for afternoon hangs and chats. Also, Ollie! He is my housemate's dog and you'd get to share the space with him too. <3 <3 <3 Oh, and we're a few minutes' walk away from Watson shops (grocery store, the wonderful coffee shop The Knox, and a few restaurants), and relatively close to Dickson shops. And close to the 39 and 200 bus stops to the city. The neighborhood is beautiful too, green and leafy and lots of families and pups. We have off-street parking! Overall, this is one of the loveliest places I've lived, and friends, whenever they visit, always remark at how great the space is. The house is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom place - main with ensuite - separate living and dining, decent sized kitchen with modern appliances, paved area out the back door under a pergola and well established gardens (including a mulberry and fig tree and a currently neglected vege patch). There's a double carport available and a shed/garage for bikes, etc. AC in the dining and kitchen, which can also cool the lounge. Both rooms are large enough to fit a queen bed with space all around (no dimensions, sorry I forgot) and have large built-ins, but otherwise unfurnished. The main has a door that opens into the backyard. The shared spaces will be somewhat furnished - couch, dining table, cabinet - and there will be a fridge and washing machine. If you've got your own furniture/appliances, I am happy to shuffle stuff around to make things work. There's also a bit of storage space available for overflow. The garden will need a bit of attention, mostly watering so it doesn't die, mowing and oppressing the weeds. The owner will organise any of the more serious gardening. Ideally, I'd like housemates that that sort of thing appeals to. I am looking for one or two people to join me in this place, whatever works. Rent would be $325 each if you don't want to share with two others. Bills in addition to the rent and split equally. 13 Caldwell Street is a super nice, recently renovated free standing house in Hackett. We like it because it's pretty big, has lots of natural light and is in a quiet street. It also has a good size backyard and nice garden, which for us was a big plus. The communal spaces are big, clean, and modern with a separate living room and dining room. There is a separate toilet and the bathroom has a shower and a bath. It only takes about 15 minutes to ride into the city, and 7 minutes to drive, but there is a bus nearby and plenty of parking. The place is close to some really beautiful bush walks on Mt Ainslie or Mt Majura. Hackett shops is a short walk away, where there is an IGA, bottle shop, and cafe. We have a fair bit of communal furniture (couch, tv, tables, chairs, bbq, etc) but there will be space if you'd like to bring some yourself.
