Hello! Unfortunately in August I will be vacating my wonderful, large room to move to New York. The room is in a townhouse in a gated complex in the heart of Oxley. A 15 minute walk from the train station which leads directly into the city or there are buses which are across the road which can take you there if you prefer. The train station is also next to a group of shops - with a Woolworths, takeaway places, pharmacies, doctors, butchers, video rental - you name it! The complex, as mentioned, is gated so very secure. There is also a swimming pool which we utilise in the Brisbane heat, with a bbq. Your room is the largest in the house with two built-in, mirrored wardrobes! Your room also comes with its own ensuite bathroom as well as air-con/heater and a ceiling fan. All of the three rooms and 2 bathrooms are upstairs, whilst the kitchen/dining/laundry/extra toilet are all downstairs. The house is fully furnished including washer, fridge, couch, tv, table etc. Your room has a double bed in it currently but if needs be, we can get rid of it. This place is nice and close to everything. I go to UQ and didn't have an issue with public transport. If you do drive, there is plenty of parking within the complex too. Rent is $165 per week excluding bills. Internet is $25 per month each and we split the electricity bill 3 ways every 3 months. Bond is $533 (so not really 4 weeks).

Hello The house is completely secure. It is on a big block so there is a huge backyard and the mowing is done privately so no you will not need to do anything in regards to the yard. There is a second toilet in the laundry which can easily be made into a second bathroom. The internet and electricity and water is included in the rent. There is also netflix. Public transport is a 5 to ten minute walk to the darra hub train station you can litterally go from darra to the Brisbane cbd in 10 minutes. The train station can get yourself anywhere quickly. There is also buses available to anywhere you would like to go. The shops which includes doctor,chemist, newsagency, takeaway shops, bakeries, hairdressers, groceries etc. are a 5 to 10 minute walk to darra or a 2 minute drive. The local woolworths and other shops at the monier shopping centre in darra are about a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive.
I'm a fun loving person who likes to hangout and watch tv and chat but I also like time on my own. I'm very organised and tidy but I'm not OCD but I do like to keep everything in order. I'm Jess, a science communicator who recently moved to Brisbane to start a masters at UQ. I'm a pretty interesting person, having worked as a wildlife educator at a zoo, in communications for a non profit and also in a hiking store. I'd love to house share with some respectful, easygoing people of any age / background (non-smoking preferred) within an easy distance of UQ St Lucia campus. As far as roommates go I'm very down to earth. I'm an environmentally conscious vegetarian who loves cooking and farmers markets (I don't mind living with non-veggos in the least). I love tea, coffee, wine, music (listening and playing), lazy sundays, great books and conversations, yoga, and illustrating. I also have an adventurous spirit and enjoy getting out on weekends going running, hiking, camping, kayaking etc. I own both a 4WD and a beautiful border collie (currently in VIC), and I am hoping to soon move her to QLD so it's really important to me that any house share be in a pet friendly property with a fully fenced yard, that any other dogs are friendly and flea treated and there is a veranda or indoor space for my dog to sleep (I'm really worried about cane toads!). I'm a very respectful dog owner, my dog is incredibly well trained (think loads of cool tricks) and well exercised (runs/walks everyday), I keep her off furniture and out of flatmates rooms and I flea and worm her regularly. She's without a doubt the sweetest, laziest, cuddliest and smartest dog you'll meet. For a border collie shes quite small and shy, she loves nothing better than a good snooze in her basket while I study, as well as playing with toys and eating cheese. I'd prefer a house with nice kitchen and bathroom facilities, some form of parking and within an easy distance (either cycling, driving or public transport) from UQ.
