$290/week•66 year old man
Hi, I’m an Aussie recently returned to Australia having lived in and worked remotely from Sisaket Thailand for the past 9 years. Looking for some place to call home! But much has changed in Australia over the past 9 years relating to housing and accommodation.
The reason I’ve had to return to Australia relates to some quite unfair and discriminate government rules relating to eligibility for the Aged Pension, which I will receive from early next year (currently aged 66).
Prior to my time overseas, for about 16 years between 1999 and 2015 I was renting – 4 apartments (Sydney) and 1 townhouse (Brisbane).
• Always paid my rent on time, or early.
• Was always refunded full amount of bond monies (as I respect and look after other peoples’ property as though it is my own).
• I’m an A1 tenant.
I’m looking for long-term accommodation 6-12 months, but probably longer. My budget for a room is limited to $290 p/w (including all bills), and I’m seeking something suitable close to the train line between say Wyong and Hornsby. I don’t have a car, so need to be close to public transport, preferably with easy access to Sydney.
About me: Generally a good-humoured person, engage well with others, though also enjoy my personal space and quiet time. I prefer living in a clean and tidy space, where I can relax in an uncomplicated and relatively peaceful laid-back environment. I can cook, and prefer to do this rather than often eating out. Yes, I am a smoker, but never in the house - not for the past 30+ years. That would be too gross!
Hobbies: I’m a musician/guitarist (but currently don’t have a guitar). For the past 4 years I’ve been doing street photography (previous career as a professional commercial/advertising photographer, from which I retired in 2006). Have also dabbled in music and video production, as well as some analogue art (yes, paints and such!). Creative stuff.
