Hi, my name is Ilia Filipev, and I am a young professional working in medical radiation physics research and international cooperation at the University of Wollongong. Outside of work, I am passionate about dancing – I teach and dance Argentine tango and ballroom at Dancespace Wollongong. I also enjoy endurance running and leading an active lifestyle, which means I am often busy and away from home for most of the day. I take great pride in maintaining a clean and tidy home. I don’t smoke, don’t have pets, and rarely cook at home, as I prefer eating out. Since moving to Australia, I have lived in university accommodation, then rented in Shellharbour, and currently reside in Wollongong on Kembla Street, sharing with two professionals. Now, I am looking for a modern, clean, and well-located place of my own, preferably with air conditioning and close to the CBD to fit my lifestyle. At the moment, I am transitioning from my PhD studies to a researcher position at the university. Currently, I am employed as a Part-Time Teaching Academic (Casual Employee) at UOW, and while I am between full-time employment, I have sufficient savings to cover at least a year of rent. I also expect to receive a job offer from the university (postdoctoral researcher) in March-April 2025. Regarding my visa status, I currently hold a Student Visa 500, and my new student visa application is being processed to cover the remainder of my studies (the new Student visa will be till 28 Sep 2025). Once I complete my PhD, I plan to apply for a three-year graduate visa to remain and work in Australia. I have attached my original student visa grant notice and my bridging visa grant letter for reference. I would love the opportunity to rent this property and am happy to provide references, proof of savings, and any additional documents needed.
