Hey there :) I'm DaHye, a third year BA/BBA ANU student originally from Korea, currently majoring Arabic language, minoring Japanese and Middle Eastern Asian studies for my BA program. I will be returning to Canberra on 16 Feb, and I'm looking for a share house with fun and cool people :). A coffee addict and casual runner, neat and super organised, enjoy some light beer/soju during dinner. I stayed in share houses while I was in Morocco and Japan both for 6 months last year (also stayed in student residence during first two years in Canberra), and didn't have much issues with housemates during my stays. I'm not a huge party monster, but I really enjoy listening to people and have a chill conversation.
Fun, tidy and easy-going, I'm a bit of a goofball, I love music and books and art. I've been in many share houses over the years and I will always do my part when it comes to keeping the place clean and respecting the space of others. I enjoy/need my quiet time and may have quiet days, but also love to sit around with a beer or glass of wine and have a chat. I have a pet cat who is very good with other animals and warms up to new people quite easily, I promise you'd love him. I'm from a small country town in Central West NSW but have lived in Canberra for almost a year now, studying and working. Won't be studying this year but will be working. Would love to find a pre-existing place that accepts pets or team up with some people to form a new share house. Ideally would like to team up with 2 guys similar in age who are cat friendly and looking to live in the inner North or South of the city. I have a lot of furniture that I can bring along. In my down time, I usually spend time in the garden, going for walks, or reading and I love hitting up Canberra's jazz bars and live music scene for a drink and/or a dance. I will wait up and watch GoT/Stranger Things with you each week, share my chocolate (sometimes) and show you silly youtube videos.
I'm male, single, and a non-smoker. Returning to Canberra for work after studying at ANU until 2015. I’m a tidy person who likes to share the occasional meal or watch TV with company but I’m also considerate of other people’s need for privacy. My new job requires very early starts (~4am) a few times a week so I'm looking for flatmates who can accommodate my hours.
My friend Dana and I are moving to Canberra and are looking for two separate rooms to rent (preferrably in the same property but not a neccessity). I'm 25 years old and Dana is 19 and we both work full time in childcare. We are tidy and friendly people who like our own space as well as socialising. I like to cook (Dana not so much) and we both like to eat, drink, watch TV, read, take walks, go on day trips, be outdoors, go to the beach etc. We are looking for a chilled, like minded flat/housemate(s) to share a space with. Hoping to hear from you soon!
Hi, I'm Grace! I've moved to Canberra from Perth to start full-time work with the public service. I'm always up for Netflix binges, coffee chats or anything in between. I'm a little bit of a nanna, so love baking, cups of tea and curling up with a good book. Ideally, I'd be looking for a housemate that I can share an occasional meal with if we're both home at the same time. Most importantly, I'm clean and tidy (but not a neat freak), respectful of personal space and down time, and can cook a mean lasagne.
I am a International Studies graduate moving to Canberra from Brisbane to start an APS graduate program (full time work) in the beginning of February and am looking for a room in an apartment/unit/townhouse, preferably with a female roommate (20s-30s). I am organised, clean, pretty quiet and respect the importance of privacy but also would love a roommate to sometimes chat and hang out with after work (over a glass of wine or a movie/netflix) Love to be social on weekends and having people over for dinner or going away on a day-trip. Other things about me: can cook, have lived overseas, am a cat lover, and am into fitness and snow-sports. Happy to bring any furniture or appliances needed! Looking for anything between a 6 month or 12 month lease!
About me: * Artist and blogger * Interested in psychology, visual arts, and personal growth * Committed Christian (but I’m quite open-minded and accepting) * Love hugs * Myers-Briggs type: ENFP * Have Fibromyalgia and CFS What I’m looking for: * Queer and trans* friendly * Tolerant of my idiosyncratic sleeping/eating patterns * Compassionate, empathetic, and thoughtful * Accepting and non-judgemental * Doesn’t smoke, drink excessively or have wild parties * Good communication skills, willing to discuss problems openly If you’re interested in something like this, please send me a message and tell me more about yourself.
I’m Haynes, 23 years old, and from Melbourne! I’ve just landed a full-time job in the APS and I’m moving to Canberra in January. As it's my first time living in Canberra, I’m keen to explore new venues/bars/restaurants and see what the city has to offer. I'm a very respectful, tidy and happy housemate who loves to be social but can also respect others personal space. I don't have any pets or dependents & I'm interested in securing long-term accommodation. Things I like: - Food festivals - Films - Good coffee (basically a pre-requisite to living in Melbourne) - 80’s music - Reading - Hiking/jogging - Cycling Ideally I'm looking for my own room in a friendly house. I’m interested in a long-term rental close to the city or universities – but I’m flexible. Shoot me a message, I’d love to hear from you.
I'm a full-time student moving from Brisbane after just finishing degrees in Engineering and Science at the University of Queensland. I'll be starting an Astrophysics PhD at the Australian National University (Mt Stromlo Observatory) in March. I'm very chilled out, mature, tidy, not easily annoyed, enjoy having friendly chats, and exploring all that Canberra life has to offer! I like to keep the house clean, and am very respectful of others' personal space. I'm also pretty light-hearted, and enjoy socialising and having a laugh. I'd be most interested in living with other like-minded students, but also enjoy interacting with all different types of people.
Hi future housemates, My name is Richard, I'm 28 and I'll be moving to Canberra in January for work. I'm very laid back and sociable so get along with just about anyone. I keep pretty active, used to be a keen rower and now have a go at just about anything to stop going stir crazy! I've lived in share houses before so I'm happy living with housemates, doing my bit around the house, chilling out at home and respecting each other's space. I am neat and tidy, non smoker, social drinker but definitely not a huge party animal. Prefer to live with like minded people and become friends rather than just housemates.
My name is Mina and I'm 23 years old. I'm a political science student from Aarhus University in Denmark. In January I'm moving to Canberra to work as an intern at the Danish Embassy. At the moment I live in a small apartment in central Aarhus with my boyfriend. I'm a happy and smiling person. I love to hang out with my friends, enjoy good food, a cold beer or a good glass of wine. I would be a good flat mate if you are the type of person who likes a chit chat around the kitchen table or maybe an after-work beer once in a while.
Hey I'm Dylan, a Canberra native in my mid-20s about to start a grad job with the Department of Health and looking to move a little closer to work. The job is a full-time position starting early February. Ideally I'd like to move late January but am very flexible with when this happens. I'm quite active and enjoy riding my bike, going to the gym and playing lots of soccer. I also like reading and playing guitar (or at least pretending I can). I am friendly but also fairly quiet. I enjoy socialising and quiet time in equal measures; I'm always up for a chat but also respectful of personal space. I like to be out and about but also enjoy a slow night in and am keen to try new things. Clean, considerate and chilled (the three Cs) and looking for a place with people who have similar values.
Hey there! I'm Grace and I'm about to leave my home town Melbourne for the capital city. Currently homeless so here I am...I am about to start a new job in the APS and am moving up in a few weeks. My move in date is flexible, but would be sometime in February. I am not sure what length of lease etc I'm looking for but open to different options. Outside of work I like to find great brunch spots and great coffee, go to the gym, relax, go on Netflix binges and so on. I'm a low key kind of person especially during the working week so would love some people to relax at home with who also won't mind if I chill out in my room alone sometimes. I am a clean and tidy person and am looking forward to making a new home in Canberra. I would be open to furnished or unfurnished options. I'm a pretty relaxed house mate, I'd love to make some new friends so let me know if all of that works for you and you have a room or need a housemate to find a place with :)
Hi there, My name is Nelson. I'm 21 years old and have recently completed a degree in International Studies at Deakin, Melbourne. I am seeking a room for a 3 month period as I will be undertaking an internship with the Australian Institute of International Affairs in Canberra. I'm friendly, easy going and always up for a chat or a laugh. I will probably be focused on the internship predominantly, but am more than happy spending time with housemates and relaxing. I am attentive, clean and respectful, and mindful of others in their own space. I would preferably like a furnished room, or one with a bed provided at least, mainly so I don't have to cart all my stuff up from Victoria. So please get in touch if you have a room available. Thank you.
I am 45 but I don't feel old. I'm happy to live with younger people and I have a young outlook on life. I work very hard - leave for work at 6AM and sometimes not back until 8PM. So plenty of privacy for flatmates. I enjoy cooking, watching movies and netflix, etc. Happy to cook and share meals or to give my flatmates privacy. Love to enjoy a drink or two with flatmates. My partner lives in Sydney and I visit her every second weekend. Sometimes (rarely) she visits Canberra.
I'm moving to Canberra in early February (can move in earlier or later) to work full time in finance in the APS. I'm clean and tidy and enjoy cooking/baking. I love animals so I'm happy to live in a household with pets. I’m pretty active outside of work with volunteering for various causes and also enjoy hiking and other cool activities. On the other hand, I love a day at home just chilling out crafting, watching Netflix and cross stitching and am more than happy to have company when I’m at home. I'm considerate of other people's space but also enjoy socialising.
Looking to move mid-late February into either a share house or apply for a 2 or 3 bedroom place and start one up. Ideally have my own bathroom but not essential. Not looking to spend more than $180-200. Please message me with any rooms you have going or would be interested in teaming up.
Hi there :), Im a clean and tidy, social girl looking for a place to live with 2 or 3 others. I work 5 days a week for the government and lead a slightly busy life with sport and social things on the weekend. I love to go hiking and do yoga and a bit of cycling. I do also like to r&r sometimes on the weekends too. I'm clean and happy to work together on things in the house. Im looking for some nice agreeable people who lead similar lives who've had abit of experience living with others before. Looking forwards to meeting you Sas
Hello! I'm looking for a home within reasonable riding distance (~10km) from Canberra CBD, looking to move in from around the 30th of January. A bit about myself - I'm starting with the Department of Agriculture and Water as a graduate in early February. Just finished a one year Honours degree at the University of Sydney but originally I'm from Perth where I graduated from UWA with a BSc in 2014. Spent 7 months traveling from Azerbaijan to Cuba and back again in 2015 so always keen to hear and share some stories around the table. I've lived in a number of different share houses in England and the US, and lived in a studio in Sydney. Although after a year of a studio, I definitely prefer living in a house with other people. I enjoy outdoors sorts of things - big fan of running/cycling (I've heard mountain biking is great in Canberra!) and I also love gardening and growing vegetables/herbs if you need some out the back. I'm easy to get along with and happy to do the chores share the work around the house. I'll fix your bike too! If I sound like someone that suits your share house flick me a message and we can arrange to meet.
I am undertaking a Master of International Affairs at A.N.U. I am a conservative Catholic who goes to church weekly. I eat healthy food, except for decadent desserts and international specialties, made from Australian grown and high welfare ingredients. I must live in a clean and tidy home. I enjoy day trips to the surrounding ACT and NSW regional areas, cycling around the lake, walks in the botanical gardens, going to see foreign films, farmers' markets, classical music concerts, going to the gym, and visiting art galleries.
I've been described as a highly social introvert, which means I like to keep busy and have a fairly active social life, but also love being on my own pottering away at whatever I've got going on. I'm clean and tidy, and used to accommodating the different personalities of share houses, and have experienced living with up to four others in recent years. I like to think I'm fairly socially conscious and compassionate, and care a lot about making our society a better place for the more vulnerable among us. I work full-time (public servant) and I also study part-time, so will spend a bit of time locked away doing that.
I am a mid 20's university graduate (Law/Commerce) moving to Canberra in February 2017 to start work with the APS. -Easygoing -Clean & tidy -Decent cook and frequent baker -Enjoy hanging out with friends whilst enjoying good food and drink -Enjoy pilates & team sports but also plenty of netflix time -Also have great respect for personal space Looking for bedroom + ensuite and parking space
Hi! I'm Shelley. I'm 25 and moving to Canberra in February to start an APS career. My move date is flexible, but the latest I'd like to move is the 24th of February. I'm clean, tidy and a non-smoker. I'm not a chef, but I can cook and I'm happy to share meals. I'm quiet and respectful, but I'd like to get along well with my flatmates and live in a sociable environment. I like to read, exercise, and I'll watch most things on TV. I'm also happy to get out and about and try new things in a new city. I look forward to hearing from you!
looking for a place to stay for a year or longer sooner rather than later if possible recently finished school where I boarded
I am from Sydney and I will be moving to Canberra to start an APS job. I enjoy socialising but also my down time and love a good cup of coffee! I like to get out on the weekends and explore the city, especially bush walking and swimming to keep fit. Having lived out of home for a number of years I know how to look after myself. I'm tidy and respectful especially in shared spaces. I love animals and would be more than happy to share with someone with pets although I don't have any myself.
Hello! I'll be starting full-time work with the public service in February 2017 and as such am looking for flatmates :) About me - I see myself as a friendly, but pretty relaxed person. I I like to keep active - swimming, cycling, and hiking are things I like to do for fun. I also love to cook and would be open to the occasional shared meal. As a newcomer to Canberra, I'll be keen for a chat over a beer and game for adventures in the CBD or bushland. That being said, I also value privacy and the need to feel 'at home' and comfortable in living situations. You can expect me to be courteous and friendly :) I am looking for two or three relaxed housemates who are happy for a chat. I value open communication, shared housework (roster perhaps?) and tidy shared living areas. Feel free to message me if you're looking to start a share house or in need of a flatmate - would love to meet you!
Working 9-5 in the city so somewhere in the area would be ideal. Drinks tea and coffee in equal measure, will recycle till the end of days. Can cook about 12 things but willing to try new things (i promise i won't poison you). Enjoy playing sports some evenings and watching it others. I keep lying to myself that I like running but will do it on occasion.
I'm clean and tidy and I want to come home to a nice quiet place where I can chill. During the week I gym or play sports most nights of the week. On the weekends I like to catch up with friends or get out of the house.
3rd year paramedic and nursing student with stable part-time cafe job. Interests include walking/ outdoors/ running/ swimming, coffee, reading, cafe-crawling, TV marathoning, travel, cooking, music, socialising
Hey guys, I am easy-going person looking to find a place to move to over the next month or so when my current lease runs out. I am an active person who also works a lot so I won't be around all that much, but I do like the occasional kitchen catch up when housemates cross paths. Let me know if this sounds like it might work out! Casey
I am a clean and tidy person. Respectful and conscientious of others. I don't drink much and am also looking for a quiet house. I loooove dogs, so if you have one, I would fit in easily. I also am always up for a nice conversation over a cuppa.
I am starting a masters course at ANU in 2017 and am looking for either an existing sharehouse or someone looking to set one up. Preferably wouldn't want more than 3 in the house, and postgrad or later year undergrads would be ideal. I am quiet to live with, I do spend a lot of time in front of the computer screen, but I'm not a complete hermit. Friendly housemates who are similar and want to be able to be left to do their work but frieldly and easy going would ever good. Move date is flexible, early to mid Jan would be perfect. If you have a room available or are also looking to get a new share house going close to ANU sms or give me a call and we can meet up. Cheers, Stu.
