Hi!
I will be starting my PhD at Adelaide University in February. I’m a marine scientist who is specializing in sea snakes and their senses, and more specifically their sense of touch (also called mechanoreception).
I am German, but have lived in France for most of my life. I’ve also travelled quite a bit as an IMBRSea master student and am ecstatic that I get to come back to Adelaide for my studies. My PhD will have me travelling for field trips, and a part of the project will be happening in Melbourne, so I am looking for a place to stay in for at least 6 months, but most likely more.
I have lived in shared appartements with shared rooms for the last 3 years (I'd be happy to have my past flatmates tell you how I did), and have had a place of my own for 3 years before that. I love pets, but left them at home with my family (we have 3 cats).
I am a really quiet and clean person (I like to do a full house cleaning once a week). I enjoy cooking and absolutely LOVE baking. In my free time I like to go for walks or hikes, read, go to the beach to snorkel or go scuba diving. I am fully intending to buy a car once I’m somewhat settled, so parking would be a plus. I don't like alcohol but I enjoy a night out with nice people every now and then, but I really do enjoy my 8 hours of sleep so I don't tend to stay up late or make any noise.
I'm hoping for a place with friendly and clean flatmates who might enjoy watching series together, maybe go for hikes and try various baked goods.
